With limited time, my wife and I are hitting EPCOT and MK in the same day (already decided to do MK later in the day to catch the fireworks / Wishes.)

Does anyone have suggestions / tips on what to not miss at each.

Transportation - we will have a rental car at our disposal and want to know if it is a good idea to drive and park to hit EPCOT first - monorail to MK and pick up the car on the way back? (Will the parking be open late enough to transit from MK to EPCOT well after Wishes has finished and a little time to leave - monorail transport back to EPCOT?) this suggestion was only planned from piecing together reviews of the buses being packed at the end of the day.

We are staying at a Disney property but only accessible to MK and EPCOT by bus ☹️ (We are staying at Caribbean Beach so was looking at the location in comparison to parking options.)

We are coming third week of July this year.

Thanks!

I would park at TTC and use monorail to Epcot and monorail or ferry to MK
Brilliant! I appreciate the tip. I read TTC is the access transportation point to MK and other locations from car parking.

how many days will you be at disney ( if it is 3 days I would do AK and HS in the same day)

as to what nor to miss what do you like EPCOT has world show case witch for some can easyly be an all day thing ( or most day) it has two big rides ( right now) TT and soaring and soon frozen ride the night time show is really need. I find space ship earth really cool

at the MK there are a lot of rides ( again depend on what you like)

I suggest that you just take the Disney buses to/from the park(s) and ride the monorails between MK and Epcot (if those are your two park choices.)

Bus to Epcot.

Monorail to TTC/
Express Monorail to MK

MK bus back to resort.

I agree. If you're staying on-site, Disney transportation is the best option.

We have limited time so 1 full day at both EPCOT and MK. My wife is not into the thrill rides so we will be keeping it an easy ride experience trip.

Thanks. I've read numerous blogs mentioning the Disney buses are hit or miss due to the loop they make meaning longer time frame in getting back to the property. Not to mention the end of night numbers trying to all get onto transportation.

So buses.

If that's what the blogs are saying, then the bloggers have no idea how the buses work.
In general, the buses that go from a given resort to a given park are not necessarily on a "loop."
A bus from, say, Pop Century to DAK, will not necessarily head back to Pop after stopping at DAK.
The buses are assigned and reassigned routes in real time based on demand.

You will find some who only like to drive.
Others who only take Disney Transportation.
You'll have to decide for yourself.

I would drive to EP in the morning and park there (assuming you're getting an early start, you'll be very close walking distance to the gate). Then drive to TTC after you're done at EP so the car is there for you when you finish with MK late at night. I rent a car and drive everywhere around WDW, I'm not a fan of waiting for Disney transportation. The only thing with MK, is you will still be at the mercy of either a monorail or ferry to get back to TTC, but I'd still much rather that than a bus, personally.

For EP, I would suggest trying to get to Soarin' first thing. If your wife is not into thrill rides, she may not want to bother with Test Track, so after Soarin', I would hit the other attractions in Future World (Spaceship Earth, The Seas Pavilion/Nemo, Living with the Land, Mission Space (green side is tame)). I would plan to be entering into WS right at 11am, when it opens so that you can have a couple of hours to walk around the lake, see all the countries (it will be a brief view of each) and maybe grab some lunch at one of the countries before heading out to MK. At MK, the only rides I would avoid that are more "thrill" like would be the mountains (space, splash and big thunder).

depending on where you are staying most busses go from the hotel to 1 park then back again a few make a few stops at one resort old key west is one of them conorodo springs is another, some times when it is not busy the busses will do all 3 all star hotel but that is not that often ( I think in all the times I have taken the busses and I do them a lot this has happened maybe 3 times)

I find the busses faster then driving you do not have to stop to pay or have your MB scanned you do not have to park you do not have to walk to the train ( I seem to always park the firths from the train too) you do not have to take the monorail or fairy ( MK and these lines can be long along with the train ) you do not have to remember where you parked instead you are dropped off close to the front you can do a few last minute things I will put my hair up or put sunscreen on my face ( not the spray kind) look too see what rides I want to do or shows I want to see ( if I am coming back form an after noon break) find at the end of the night the lines maybe long but they have busses waiting so as soon as one lives another is there in a matter of minutes and the lines really do live fast.

if you have one full day for both I would do soaring if it is opened then hit a few rides there is not much other to do in futcher world when would show case opens do that you can do it in about 3 hours if you do not want to see every thing pick a few ( maybe 3 ) that you would like to see the shows at and try and do those and maybe have lunch there head over to MK about 1 so get to MK at 2 and see the parade frontierland I think is a great place to see it. good rides if you do not like roller coaster honted mention little mermaid buzz are all fun

Thanks for the info - good to know. Agreed - bloggers can sometimes miss info.

Thank you. Good to know. Will look over all the helpful points everyone is posting and go from there.

Like others have said, park at the TTC and ride the monorail to Epcot. That way you can just use the Monorail the rest of the day, or the boat when going to/from the MK.

Epcot - ride Spaceship Earth, Living with the Land, Soarin, Frozen Ride (if open). The Frozen ride should be open by the time you are there even if there is no opening date yet, but just be at rope drop for world showcase so you can be one of the first in line for that. In world showcase, a trip to the American Adventure to hear the Voices of Liberty and see the show is usually a must. Other than that, just hitting all of the different countries would be nice. The movie in Canada is usually a place my family likes to go.

Fastpass+ options I would get in Epcot: Spaceship Earth, Soarin (it is reopening in June and will be very popular when you are there.)

You can possibly have all of this done at Epcot by 2 or 3 p.m. depending on if you are at rope drop or not. Epcot has been known to be a two-day park, so just know you won't be able to see everything.

Magic Kingdom: Anything in Fantasyland, Peoplemover, Carousel of Progress, Jungle Cruise, Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Main Street Electrical Parade, Wishes.

Fastpass+ options I would get in this park: Jungle Cruise, Pirates, Haunted Mansion. (Peter Pan would be a great choice, but not sure if you can see the interactive line if you go through the fastpass+ option)

Keep in mind as well, you can only get fastpass+ for one park at a time. So, make sure you plan your fastpass+ options for the MK or Epcot. It can't be both. Choose based on which park has the most rides that you would rather go on and around the time you think you will be in that park. You will be able to get fastpass options in the other park once you enter that park.

Hope you have a great day at WDW! Hope this helps!

Thank you - wow! Brilliant info. I wish we had more time but unfortunately no. We would have loved to have done 2 days at EP and a full day at MK. Special thanks for the FP tips!

One day only

Just use the bus. It may be faster to exit from international gateway in the back of epcot and use the bus from beach club (walking distance to the back entrance) to get to MK. It is faster to get to their bus then to monorail (which you ahve to switch to another monorail or boat to get to mk). Now if you want to ride the monorail as part of your trip, it's a nice ride :)
