2/9/2008 - Valentine Cruise 7 Night Western - Anyone On The Love Boat ?

HI LAURIE! We plan on getting to the Radisson Friday afternoon. We're hitting Seaworld Thursday, and maybe again on Friday (just the highlights), so our exact time is unknown. We would love to meet! We have reservations for the 10:00 shuttle. We did the same thing last year and it worked VERY well.

Unless anyone has objections/better idea, let's plan on a kid's meet at 2:00p.m. by Mickey's slide. I'm sure we'll be by the pool most of the day until the sail away party, so any late comers can still go up and find us.

Brian

Hi Brian! not sure what time we'll be arriving at the Radisson. I have a convention to go to for work near SeaWorld, so we're hoping to arrive after 3pm or so. Maybe we can meet at the pool....I hear it's nice there. This will be our first time staying at this Radisson. If we don't meet up on Friday, we'll see you on the 10am shuttle over to DCL.

26 Days!! :cool1: :cheer2: :woohoo: :yay:
We're so looking forward to this cruise!! and for nice warm weather!! How is everyone's Monday going with all this snow today YUK!!! It's still snowing here and good too!! :) Have a good rest of this snowy day (at least for us New Englanders), Laurie

Hi Laurie and everyone, we will plan to meet you all at around 2:00 by Mickey's slide. That sounds like fun!

Before the cruise we were thinking of CI&Suites or Residence Inn because of the suites but I will take a look at the Radisson. Does anyone know if they have suites (like with a separate bedroom)? Have you stayed there before? We also have the option of staying in DH's grandparents condo in Cocoa Beach--however DH's grandad died last week, so I don't know if I want to stay there. I think I would rather be in a hotel close to the port.

We are having a rare day of sunshine up here in Canada (we're American but live in Canada at the moment). We have about 3-4 feet of snow on the ground and it won't be going away anytime soon. Last year we had snow on the ground for 7 months!! I so can't wait to get away!!

Another question...is anyone planning on doing the fish extender thing? I had never heard of it and don't want to go to all the effort if no one else is going to be doing it, but if I knew for sure and beforehand, I would think about it and plan to bring some goodies!

Talk to you all later!

Kristine

We will plan on meeting around 2pm at the Mickey pool as well ... our girls are SO excited to meet new friends! They've been exchanging emails on the kids chat and can hardly wait to meet everyone!
No fish extenders for us, but we do plan on decorating our stateroom door with a few signs.:yay:
See you all in 26 days!!

Yes, they have suites. Prices are reasonable. The pool is nice. The rooms are acceptable. It is one of the closest hotels to the terminal, and they have a 10:00a.m. shuttle (you will need to reserve a spot). Once you bring your bags to the lobby in the morning, you wont see them until you are in your stateroom as the shuttle driver and his helpers load them at the hotel and transfer them at the terminal (no cost, unless you tip them). Last year we were close to being the very first passengers in the terminal, and on the ship.

Question for all you beach goers......looks like quite a few have decided on RUM POINT in GC. What made you decide on this beach? I read early on about all the greatness on Sea Grapes, but now I'm not seeing much on Sea Grapes and more Rum Point. It seems 7 Mile (which is where Sea Grapes is located) can be very busy. Just looking to see if anyone has done both, and what your thoughts are. Last time we were here, we went to Stingray City.....so this whole beach thing is new to us.

we can swing either way on the fish extenders. :confused3

Second cruise, first was Eastern. Any other senior empty nesters going?

My In-law's will be sailing with us, and they are empty nesters! Their youngest just moved out of the house in December!!

I think we are going to Sea Grapes, but my DW is in charge of that. I think she went by reviews from another board that has "critics" of all cruises. :3dglasses

Jackie, you and my wife should get together and split a bottle of wine. I can't have more than a glass or two without just falling asleep. :faint: Are you bringing any onboard?

I think this cruise we're going to make a dedicated effort to spend more time at the Adult pool and get more drinks at The Cafe Cove. The past 2 Dis cruises I always feel like I ran around too much.

Us too! Actually I'm not even sure we SEEN the Adult pool last time. We promised this time.....more relaxing by the pool and less running around!
