2/9/2008 - Valentine Cruise 7 Night Western - Anyone On The Love Boat ?

We fly down a month from today!! Yay!!
We'll be spending the night at the Orlando Intl Airport Hyatt, then taking the bus over in the morning. We have our routine which gets us on the Mickey Bus, which is the first to depart the airport. We should be getting our luggage tags soon!! Can't wait!!!

I was just checking in to say the same thing Thea.....WE LEAVE FOR THE AIRPORT A MONTH FROM TODAY!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: We're not getting in until late though....DS has school and DH may have to work that day, so we're arriving in Orlando about 9PM. Even though we got a late flight, we booked the Marriott at the port (had a lot of points to use up). I can't wait, I'm getting soooooo excited. :yay: :yay: :yay:

Hi Kristine :flower3: & welcome .....

Can't believe that we are all getting so close to cruising now :hourglass

Just hope the weather picks up in Florida........not been too good there recently I've heard.

Laurie--I had a baby a few months ago...instead of giving me a baby gift, my best friend gave the girls this HUGE Thomas set, with tracks, roads, lots of girl engines, the works. She figured that a gift to keep them busy was better than anything she could give the baby!! Since then we saw her and her boys again (she lives in Texas, we live in Canada but meet in Colorado every fall) she got us hooked on the "Take-Along Thomas" so now we have tons of those that hook together with magnets! My parents bought the girls the Thomas cases for Christmas so now we have places to store all of those little trains! And who says trains are only for boys anyway? I loved trains growing up, I think they are great toys.

Ok, off to do dishes, talk to you later :)

Kristine

Hi Kristine......that's so cool. My son is sitting here with me as I read your post. He giggled when he heard your girls had Thomas trains!! and your right girls can play with trains too....my Dad worked for the railroad when I was a little girl and had my share of trains too!! So when are you flying into Orlando? Has everyone started thinking about packing? I just put together my sons clothes now I have to start thinking about my clothes and hubbies!! Can't wait 31 days to go!!

Hi Kristine that's great. My son is sitting here with me when I read your post and he giggled to hear that your girls like Thomas too!! He's so excited about the cruise. What about your girls? When are you flying into Orlando? Has everyone started thinking about packing? I just put together my sons clothes now I have to think about what I'm bringing.

Sorry, but I know that this question has absolutely NOTHING to do with cruising ...but I was just wondering if some of you in the US could help...

....... I have an old school friend who went to work in America; she is a TV news reporter...I think she may have worked for CNN ? :confused3

She's got short straight dark hair and she's in her 40's now.

Just wondered if any of you have ever heard of her - I guess she'd be fairly noticeable with a British accent and all ......her name is Abigail Bonell.
Years ago I think she hit the headlines (well she did in the UK) because apparently Madonna's brother was supposed to be in love with her !

Has anyone seen her on TV ? :confused3 ..I'm just curious that's all.

Sorry I had to ask :rolleyes1

Hi Laurie, We are coming in a few days early. My husband has family all around the Orlando area, so we are going to be visiting his family before we cruise.

I have definitely started packing already. I had to drag out all of the summer bins and see what clothes they have for warmer weather that still fit the kids. I don't want to overpack but I don't want to not have enough
either. But one thing is for sure, I want to be DONE packing about a week early! Every time we take a trip I am up packing until like 2am the night before we leave and I refuse to do that this time! I don't want to be exhausted before we even leave.

How about everyone else?

Kristine

My packing will begin this weekend, I find that if I wait until the day before (usually MH prefers to do it then) I end up packing WAY too much as I am panicked not to forget everything. We turn it into a game for my daughter--she gets to give me a fashion show of the clothes she plans to bring so I can see what really fits and what doesn't!
Thea

we started packing this last weekend the fashin show isnt as much fun when they hit teens:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Doesn't seem like much fun when they're 9, it's the middle of January in the Midwest, and it's cold outside either...........CUZ MOST OF HIS SUMMER CLOTHES ARE NOW TOO SMALL!!!
Ya, I know I should have been more prepared. This is not like me. With all the chaos that transpired late summer-early fall shopping the sale racks was the last thing I had time fore....then when it dawned on me, I thought "oh well his summer clothes always fit for 2 summers and I just both them a month ago". Well apparently I didn't know my DS would grow sooooo much this year!

Luckily for me, Kohls has already started putting there shorts online. Oh, and Old Navy too. ON may even be getting there swim trunks in (the stores) this week or next for those in need. Happy Packing!popcorn::

Well the board traffic has picked up now that the holidays are over!

Welcome aboard to the new cruisers on the thread! :goodvibes

We're actually driving down to Orlando overnight. We should be one of the first cars in the parking lot. So if see us and we seem out of sorts it's probably from a lack of sleep. Hopefully our first night sleeping on the ship will be :cloud9:

Our boys will be checking in on the kid's thread this week. The older really likes the kids clubs. The younger does as well but he also likes lots of pool time.

I can so relate! I am always up way too late the night before cleaning and packing and have to crash early on the first night of our trip. I too have already started "gathering" things. I have a pile in my basement. I also have decided to try out Owners Locker, a service that stores your belongings in between Orlando trips. We have four other trips planned this year, so leaving a lot of our stuff there and having it delivered to our resort will hopefully make our future trips less stressful and heavy, as we are always right at the 50 pound limit! I am hoping to not have any future late nights packing!

Laura

Laura, I know what you mean about the 50 pound thing! I am always heaving our big suitcases on our bathroom scale the night before we leave and shuffling things around so we don't go over! I too have our downstairs all set up for packing with piles everywhere! It may take me all month but I am determined to have everything in the car the night before we leave and not worry about it!!

Kristine

I know we've posted this before, but there are so many newcomers to this posting, let's review since we have LESS THAN A MONTH TO GO!!!

What stateroom are you in? 7035 and 7037

What dinner seating do you have? Second seating, hopefully 8:15!

Any excursions booked?
We have booked the Echo Catamaran Dolphin encounter on our own in Key West, a very special event on our own at Grand Old House in Grand Cayman, and the Xcaret Eco Park through DCL in Cozumel

What is your favorite thing to do on board on days at sea? I could spend all day by the Goofy Pool with a good book! (one without pictures in it!!)
