Hmm, what do I say about this place?

The night didn't start off too well, when we arrived at 7:10pm for our 7:20 pm reservation. They told us 15 -20 mins, and I questioned this because we had a reservation at 7:20pm. Well, finally at 8 pm we were seated. We guess that this was because a massive thunderstorm rolled in around 5pm and everyone decided to go eat early, and thereby caused all the reservations to be off. We got the excuse that it was because we were a 2 top and there weren't enough tables for them and they just weren't getting up. To me, this kind of excuse is unacceptable.

We were finally seated and were able to go into the buffet area to eat. I was still in a bit of a foul mood considering how long it took to get a seat, but I tried to let it slide since I was now in an area with all the characters. The food looked pretty good and I started with a plate of Chicken Coq Au Vin, chicken marsala, prime rib, and some mashed potatoes. The Coq Au vin and the prime rib were fantastic. Really enjoyed those, and the carver gave me a nice chunk of prime rib, so big in fact that I didn't go back for anymore dinner. Although, I did hit the dessert table. I really like the fact that they make them in little individual tart like pieces. I took a key lime, cheesecake, chocolate mousse and a carrot cake. All of them were lovely.

DH really enjoyed his meal too, but for the price and the wait we had, we questioned whether or not it was worth it.

I should point out that I did get a tiara and a special cupcake as a birthday present since I was wearing a birthday pin. I have to say also, that Lady Tremaine called me on it too. She asked if it was really my birthday, and since it technically wasn't (my b-day is on 9/30 so I am celebrating it on this trip) I had to say no, she then said, "so I guess it is your unbirthday then, I guess I can respect that." Cracked us up.

Prince Charming was as charming as ever, and very tall! Cinderella beautiful belle of the ball and the sisters were having fun with the guests.

There were two little girls dressed as tinkerbell that had never seen each other before and just seemed to adore each other. The one little girl even asked if she could have our chair so she could go sit with the other tinkerbell! It made my night, thankfully! They could not have been more than 5 or 6. Very adorable.

Sorry my review couldn't be more positive, but I personally didn't feel for the money and the wait it was worth it. Did I leave full, sure, but I would have left a little more happy if I had gone to dinner 45 mins earlier.

Are you aware that an ADR is not the same as a reservation?

Hey! I am right there with you in the NOT IMPRESSED w/ 1900 Park Fare boat! We went for b'fast two weeks ago. We were celebrating my ds's 4th b'day and he was excited about meeting the characters that morning...mainly Alice and the Mad Hatter b/c he had seen Pooh, Tigger, Mary Poppins, etc. at other places.

Well, I knew from the get go it was going to be interesting b/c the woman who spoke w/ me when I checked in for our ADR didn't even say Hello but just stood there till I said something and then just handed us a beeper w/out another word. No harm done there I thought until...

We were seated w/ another crowd of people and sat at a corner table that evidently was the cut off for character rotations. Every character would come to the table next to ours and instead of stopping at our table, the last in the row, they would scoot off to the next room. My ds kept getting excited and then let down. I told him they would come later and he was fine but still...it's not wise planning. My opinion...finish the row and then move to the next room. Crazy!

But the WORST was when a poor little girl puked all over the floor at the table next to us and the family naturally had to dash out of the restaurant. I want you to know that NO ONE even tried to clean or hide that mess for over 40 minutes. So, we all sat there trying not to look at puke and eat b'fast. The most concerning part was that the manager or head CM stood right next to our table at her station then entire time and watched the whole thing go down and never once even did anything. I mean, HELLO??? Put a napkin over the mess or something so people don't see it until it can be cleaned!!! She stood there showing some waitresses her new fingernails or a ring on her finger...ARGH!!

We waited and waited and waited for the characters to come by while avoiding the puke and NO ONE came by and NO ONE even mentioned my ds's b'day which was on the ressie and on his button on his shirt. I finally asked the waitress if he was going to be recognized for his b'day ( I HATED TO ASK THIS BUT...) and she said yeah...give her a minute. So we all sat, finished w/ b'fast and again trying not to look at the puke so my poor DS could get his cupcake and B'day placemat that I had told him about. (Next time, I WILL NOT tell him about the placemats...I did it here and at Chef Mickey's and CM didn't give him one....they were out of them...:( )

Finally, the lady came over and gave him a cupcake/placemat and had him blow out the candle. Then Alice and MPoppins came by for pics very quickly. The MHatter never came by and that was ds's fave.

We had dinner ressie's our last night of our trip at 1900 PF and needless to say, we cancelled them. We just couldn't tolerate the place again this trip. Maybe we'll try again another time.

BTW...DS got sick two days later w/ a stomach bug....nice, huh?? Not saying he got it there....I mean...he is at WDW and there are tons of places to p/up germs but ironic none the less....HA!

Actually, even when you call disney dining, they call them reservations now.

No need to play the semantics game. When you call Disney Dining, every CM reads the same script..."This is not a guaranteed reservation...Your party will be seated at the next available table for your party size...etc."

Even still, 45 mins from the reservation time is uncalled for, especially when we checked in early.

We've found that the earlier we eat, the less of a chance of delays, the later we eat, more of a chance of a delay. Waiting 45 minutes at a popular restaurant during prime dinner hours isn't really that unexpected.

We were not impressed with 1900 Park Fare either. We ate there for breakfast, which went great except for we had a very unfriendly server. But dinner there was terrible. Food was ok (not worth the $ they charge though) and interaction with the step mother and sisters was good but we had to wait almost 2 hours to get a picture with Cinderella. :scared1: She would get a couple tables away and then go back to sections she had already visited. :confused3 The tables next to us were complaining about it also and a couple of them even got up and left. One lady even went over and said something to Cinderella herself and looked very unhappy with the reply she received. Seeing Cinderella and the Prince were the main reasons we went there. Both my husband and I agreed we would probably not waste our time there again. Very unhappy. Kids were upset too, our server even apologized to us twice. I felt bad because we were also holding up tables. We had all been done eating for over an hour. :scared: before we finally got to see her.

I don't see why you could ask the server about recognizing your son's birthday, but not about cleaning up the puke? :confused3

I really just was so appalled by the whole situation that I just wanted to leave. Does that make sense?? At that point, it was just another issue to deal with and honestly my family was flat out fed up and ready to move on to a more pleasant day. The waitress rarely graced our table anyways.

Could I have asked? Yes. Did I think to ask? No. Should I have thought to ask? Doesn't seem to really matter in my opinion. Honestly, I was more concerned that my son get his b'day celebration done so we could leave. I chose to ask about that rather than download on the waitress with a list of things that I felt needed to be done. I live by the philosophy of "choose your battles" and so I just chose not to fight that one. Didn't seem worth it b/c obviously the staff of the restaurant didn't care about it. Besides, I should not have to ask a restaurant to clean up bodily fluids off the floor. KWIM?? Especially if the manager was standing there the whole time doing NOTHING!!

We are another family that did not enjoy our experience. For the price you pay, we thought the dinner selection was lacking. We did wait 20 minutes past our ADR time, (Yes, I know, it's guaranteed), and the tables were so close together. We actually listened to the women behind us talk of her "bowel issues", since arriving at Disney. :confused3 Yes, you get to see Cindy, but I'm not sure we would do it again.

Now, I'm a little worried about eating there in Dec. I've always heard such good things about this place.

Uh-Oh! I have 4:55 reservations on 10/28. I hope that we are not disappointed after reading this.
