Michelle, I know exactly what you are talking about with friends! I am going to scream if one more person tells me I'll be too thin at 130!! I am 5'4" and every extra pound shows up on me. I get the "you are eating, aren't you" phone calls all the time. YES, I AM EATING BUT NOT JUNK!!!!! It really is frustrating!

It is cheaper to eat unhealthy than it is to eat healthy. WTG finding a snack you can live with. You can't deprive yourself or you will go off your plan. And one pack of 100 cal cookies is not going to effect your weight adversely. It is the end of the day calorie count that you have to watch. But as long as you know what is going in your mouth you are in control. Really, that is the secret to weight loss...you have to be aware of what you put in and how you move. Ok, enough preaching from me! :goodvibes

Ok, I got my one mile run in on the TM. I have gotten slack with my running since I have been going the gym. 'Course this week I can blame TOM.

Get your focus on and let's get this done!!!! :cheer2:

Hello ladies! How are y'all doing today?

Dona and Melissa, thank you for letting me know I'm not alone.

I have been doing alright today. I missed breakfast becuase of a string of events happening right after another. I hate it when I have to come last, I need to stop letting that happen. I finally got to eat at around Noon and I just ate my lunch. Because I was starving, I had a huge salad first with that new salad spritzers, balsamic vinegrette flavor. It was really good! I then ate a weight watchers smart ones meal. I have never been able to eat salad as a meal, I need all food groups to feel like I have actually eaten. I did mess up and eat a mini donut that I have for the kids, but I recovered and am now feeling comfortable. I'll just have to keep DISing for a while so I don't eat out of boredom popcorn:: I'm very good at mindless munching! I will be unable to fit in a workout today, because Leila has seen fit to bother me all day long. I think maybe I'll do some vacuuming, that'll burn a few calories.

Have a great day and a great weekend, in case I'm not back until Monday.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend! You must be because it is dead around here :rotfl: Just checking in to see how it's going. I'll check back tomorrow to see how y'all are doing.

Hi Everyone!

Drive by post...just wanted to say "Hi!". I promise I'll have a real one tomorrow!

I'm 2 weeks into running, and so far feeling good. I haven't been near a scale, but my clothes fit a tiny bit looser, and I think I see very slight definition (o.k. the cellulite is standing out more) in my legs.

Dona, Michelle, Melissa, Wendy, Kathy. Linda (and Tara, are you lurking?!) -- I hope you're having a good weekend, and looking forward to a wonderful week!

Maria

Hey losers!! :thumbsup2 Hope everyone had a good weekend! I must confess that I ate some baaaad stuff last night. And I will be paying for it today as I add another mile to my TM time. And the trainer is probably going to kick my behind.

I am determined this is the week I am going to get back to brass tacks and get my workout fine tuned. I am seeing small changes but I haven't been as disciplined as I have in the past. My mommy tummy isn't going away as fast as I'd like and I am sure it is due to my slack habits of late.

Maria, I am proud of you running for 2 weeks now!! That's fabulous! Keep up the good work. Those legs are going to be taunt in no time! :woohoo:

Sorry Shelly it looks like we all abandoned the thread for the weekend! Hope you had a good one! :yay: Was church better this week?

Okay everybody check in and let us know how it's going! Hope you've had a good loss! And let's get some momentum going for this week!!

Melissa, after the way the kids acted up last weekend, I decided to let them take a break from church this weekend. And I was awful lonely without you guys this weekend :rotfl2:

Great news though, I have finally lost one pound  I feel great and even went to the park with Leila and went roller blading up and down the sidewalk while she played on the playground. It was nice to stretch my legs again. I used to roller blade a lot as a kid, I kinda miss it. I will have some horrible bruising on my ankles tomorrow, but it was worth it. Is one of you ladies doing Weight Watchers? I thought I might try one of the meetings for free and see if I like it. What do you guys know about it?

Have a good night and see you tomorrow.

Shelly, roller blading that's awesome! And you've lost a pound :cool1: That has to be inspiring! WTG! Keep up the good work.

I gotta remember to check in here on the weekends...it is not like I have that much going on - I really don't. :yay:

Okay gang, where are those weight losses???? I maintained this week but next week I AM going to post a loss!! :thumbsup2 Ow, yes, the trainer kicked my backside and made me walk an extra mile yesterday!

Let's hear from everybody...........:grouphug: :flower3:

Shelly - great job on the weight loss. Keep up with the exercise. You probably get plenty keepinjg up with 3 kids.

Melissa - I am with you on getting rid of some of this weight. I will weigh in Thurs morning to see how this week fared.

I have been exercising sporatically. I did 45 min on the TM both Fri and Sat. Sun I went outside at walked 5.8 miles. I seem to be more motivated to walk outside, even with sub-zero wind chill, than I do on the TM. My excuse is the basement is too cold to exercise.

Linda and Tara - where are you? You can come out of lurkng mode to say hi.

Everyone have a losing day.

Hi evryone. Well the crazies are over. My grades are in except for one girl who is finishing up her midterm tomorrow morning. And my workshop is done. The worst part of the workshop was that I had given it last year and I usually write up personal notes that I use during the course of the day (Yes it is 5 hours long). I could not find those notes anywhere. I have been looking for 3 weeks. So between the notes I couldn't find the exams I had to grade, the exams that we had to rewrite because they were too hard and the marking period grades I had to do, no wonder I have been stressed. It is over now. Tonight I am going with ds to a jazz concert and relaxing. Workouts and dieting are on tap for tomorrow.

Glad to hear that some people are losing weight. Keep trying everyone.

Hello ladies! Today was a crazy day. I was busy all the way up to 2:00 and I forgot to eat, so by the time I ate, I was famished. Needless to say, I didn't keep to any diet at that time, I was too hungry. I'm comfortable with what I ate though, so I don't feel too bad about it. I went to my friends house to clean it up a bit before the Realtor came by to take a look. My friend is in Ohio and selling her house here. Her house has been unocupied for some time now and it needed a bit of freshening. It was quite a workout because I had Karina in the front carrier while I was sweeping and dusting. So I did something nice for my friend and got a workout too. Bye Melissa, Kathy and Dona see you guys tomorrow.

Hi Ladies!

How are you this evening? I did my TM yesterday and bike today, so I'm well into week three. I went just over 9 miles on the exercise bike, a new record for me. I'm going to try to get to 10 miles in 30 minutes, but that may take awhile. Gotta work on that endurance! ;)

I'm hoping that once I get the exercise down as a habit, the eating will follow. I know what I need to do, it's just doing it...I also know in my heart I have to get back on the scale, I'm just pretty sure I'll cry when I do. :scared1: It is not going to be pretty.

Michelle -- Good for you, spending your time doing a good deed! I'm sure your friend really appreciated it. That was very kind of you, and even bringing your baby! Those pounds are going to melt away, one at a time! Congratulations on that loss! :goodvibes

Dona -- So glad to hear the crunch is over! I hope you have a wonderful time tonight, and you are able to relax. Do you get a February vacation? Our kids will be out of school Presidents' week, so everything slows down around here. With so many kids out of school, that means parents take lots of vacations. Even if you go to work as I will, not alot you can do if you have to interact with people! :rotfl:

Kathy-- You are doing great! Every time I read about one of your workouts, I am more determined to keep moving. Considering everything you have been through, it is amazing you are out there exercising away those pounds! Be proud of yourself. Most people would have given up after the first surgery!

Melissa-- I promise I am going to get on a scale. I really am. I'm thinkinig about week four I'll be ready to face the music. Maybe. I did measure my hips and waist, so I'll also be able to check that. I am less intimidated by that than the scale. :)

Wendy, Linda, Tara -- Hang in there and know you are in our thoughts! :grouphug: Hey, is this what's keeping you busy? :laundy: :rotfl2:

Maria

Good Morning ladies! It is hump day! How are your weekly goals coming along? Have you taken some steps towards your rewards?

I finally went out and purchased workout clothes. I have been wearing the things I had when I weighed 200 pounds and they hide all the work I've been doing. Sooooo, I bought some body part hugging pants and sleeveless shirts...I haven't worn those in 10 years! :rotfl:

Shelly, you friend has a jewel in you! How smart of you to make it into a workout! :thumbsup2

Kathy, ever since you mentioned the walking speed for the marathon I have been walking at a faster pace and boy, has it made a difference. I find myself wanting to run! :woohoo: Thanks for the insight!

Dona, Whew! Bet you are glad crunch time is done!! Have a good relaxing evening or two!!

Maria, WOW!! WTG on the exercise! I am so proud of you!! And you are smart concentrating on mastering one step at a time. The food will follow!

And I am with you where are our missing losers? Tara, Linda, Wendy where are you?? We miss you! :goodvibes Let us know what's going on......

Good Afternoon!

Today is a rest day for me. I'm off to a good start with my eating. Cream of wheat and blueberries. I worked through my morning snack. I'm having a SmartOnes turkey & mashed potatoes for lunch, with celery and carrots. I have clementines and a Kashi bar, so hopefully I can stick with that. I have 100 cal fudge stripes just in case :lmao:

Melissa-- I bet you are so cute in your new clothes, and they will really motivate you! Now throw those big things away, you will never need them again! :thumbsup2

Michelle-- I hope you are able to eat earlier today, and you're having a great one! :goodvibes

Dona-- how was the concert? I hope you are staying warm for today's workout! You won't catch me outside!:cold:

Kathy-- I know your busy season has started. I hope you are still able to carve out a little time for you! :upsidedow

I'll be taping Lost tonight, just like I taped Boston Legal last night. I just cannot stay up that late and get up when I need to in the morning. I know I'm behind the rest of the world, but hey, at least I can skip the commercials:happytv:

Let's Move and Lose!
Maria

Maria - mandatory Sat started last week. I do my first tax returns tomorrow. I would rather work on corporate returns than individual returns.

Melissa - enjoy your new clothes. You earned them. I'm sure you will look stylish.

Shelly - I don't know when you find any time to yourself with 3 small children. People like you amaze me.

Dona - glad your stressful time os ofver until the end of the year. Make some time for yourself. you deserve it.

I managed to go down in the cold cellar and put 45 min in on the TM. It is easier for me to walk outdoors on the weekend because I dress for it. I thought a pair of gloves would have been nice on the TM.

Everyone have a great evening.

Kathy- Thank you! You can't believe how many people don't understand how much work a military spouse does. I do have a pretty good idea how hard it would be to be a single Mom, makes me appreciate my husband all the more  Good job on the TM workout. When it's cold it's so hard to get any execise.

Maria- I wish I had the dedication to my workout as you do. I could never do 9 or 10 miles on a bike.

Melissa- I bet your going to look HOT in your new workout clothes! It'll make your workout that much more fun, and you'll be able to see your progress.

Well ladies, I'm going to watch CSI and eat a very good cookie sundae (2 WW pts, I'm not cheating!) Good night!

Good Thursday Morning Is it the weekend yet?

Glad to see everyone working hard. The stress of the last week has gotten to me and I have some sort of respiratory thing going on. Last night I went to bed early and woke up around midnight coughin and I couldn't stop. I am worried about coughing during class today. I don't have any cough drops because they are too sweet and make me sick to my stomach. I do have my water bottle.

The concertt the other night was great. All jazz for an hour and a half. SOme of these high school kids are so talented.

LAst night no one had to go out it was great not to have to go out in the cold after ds came home from bowling practice. Tonight is scout night so the guys will be out for a while.

1 week from today my ds has his Board of Review for Eagle. It should be an easy thing but you do always worry. I know that he is nervous already. The good thing is some friends are on the Board for him so that should make him ffeel more at ease.

Well I hope everyone has a great day. I did get to walk this morning but only for about 20 minutes before I had to give it up. Maybe yoga this afternoon.

Have a great day

Good morning.

Digging out from the snow is my cross training. Had to rescheduel yesterday's PT to today due the the miserable driving. Shoveling is making it so I really need her magic hands.

Did my 45 min on the TM last night. That makes it 2 days in a row. I will either do the bike or TM tonight just so I can watch the next episode of Grey's Anatomy.

Everyone - keep warm and stay healthy.

OMG, you guys are not going to believe this. I am finally into the 170's!! :woohoo: I was 179 this morning for a total loss of 3 pounds since signing up for the weight loss challenge. I think it's actually getting easier to eat properly, I never thought I could do it. I never would have been able to keep up with it this long if it wasn't for you guys, so thanks :grouphug:

Dona, I hope your son is successful in his Eagle board. I like to see the boys stick with the scouts for longer then a couple of years. He has dedication. Now I just need to get my son to start scouts. What age do they start?

Kathy, Ah, snow! right now the temp here in sunny El Paso is high 60's. We had a little snow but it didn't last long and now we are already starting our spring time. Good job on the TM, it helps to be able to watch a show to make the time go faster.

To everyone else that's out there, have a great day and see y'all later!

Michelle, that's fantastic! 170's :woohoo: Take that momentum and run with it girl!!! :yay:

Dona, I am impressed that your son has stuck with the scouts that's the mark of a good man! Hope all goes well with the board.

Kathy, cross training includes snow shoveling that's making good use of a a task I wouldn't look forward to! :lmao:

Maria, where are you????

Girls, I just finished my workout with the trainer and we wowrked shoulders and I am about to die - my arms are shaking so I am going to sign off!! :rotfl2:

Here I am!

Hi Ladies!

I was in meetings and not in the office all day, so I haven't been near a computer until now. Fridays we stay in and watch movies as a family, so my evenings aren't my own until bedtime.

I did my TM run yesterday and bike workout today. I didn't seem to be able to go as far on either one. I think today it's because I was out in the cold walking to and from the subway and various meeting places, and with the wind chill it was just about 0. Anyway, I think I probably need more sleep.

I'm calling this a mini-breakthrough on the eating front. I had a salad, followed by half a roast beef sandwich and half the portion of fries. I know that still isn't great, but it does represent a bit more restraint on my part.

Michelle -- Congratulations! You are inspiring me. I want to have that moment, too, so I'm going to have to get back on the scale so I can see it happen. O.k., next Wednesday morning I will get on the scale. That will be 3.5 weeks into working out, and that gives me four full days to eat right between now and then. I can tell by looking at me I'm probably closer to 190 than 180, an all-time high other than pregnancy (KFC was my friend), so this is going to be traumatic. But I'm going to do it. Otherwise, I won't know I'm making progress with the scale. You are on your way, great job! :woohoo:

Melissa-- I bet those toned arms are going to look awesome in some cute little shirts this summer! There won't be anything extra in your wave :thumbsup2

Kathy-- I'm addicted to Grey's, too. I couldn't watch it on the TM, though. My mouth drops open too often, and I'd fall off! :rotfl: You are doing wonderfully with your consistency, especially in that cold basement!

Dona-- I hope you're feeling better. Your son sounds like a very dedicated young man, and I know you are so proud of him! I'm sure he will sail through and have another fantastic accomplishment! :goodvibes

Well, I'd better think about heading towards bed. I'm up to do my long run for the week tomorrow morning. I was going to up my distance, but the way this week has gone, I'm going to stick with 2.5 miles tomorrow. I always get into trouble when I try to do too much too soon, so this time I'm going to listen to my body.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Friday night!:grouphug:
