you can do it! i drove from dc to key largo by myself about 8 years ago. the only time it got a little hairy was when i had to stop for gas in sc in the middle of the night/early morning. if you are planning to stop overnight it wouldn't be a problem - i was driving straight through.

traffic will probably be lighter than normal that whole week. i would still try to avoid rush hour if possible, but i am guessing it won't be too bad.

bad is a relative term though, i guess. dh's normal commute is 2 hours to go 20 miles.
