we had snow flurries today, it got very cold very fast. Our boat just went in for winterizing and storage... so sad! I miss summer! But dh is going to fill the hot tub this weekend and get it running. There's nothing like running through snow in bare feet to jump in the hot tub! You can hardly see anything from all the steam rising and turning into ice in the air.

Yes, it is great until you have to get out. :(

Ok...I have to go...ONE OF US in this household has to do work for a change.

I was actually considering just seeing if we could leave Allie with my parents for the week but I just don’t think I could do that. This is a family vacation and I don’t want to leave a big part of our family out. I know she will enjoy a lot of things so I think the guilt would kill me. Of course dealing with her may as well….

Anyway I am still pretty stressed out about her behavior and I can only hope and pray that she gets better in the next two months.

Well I need to get going because DH got a call from the mechanic and his car is fixed so I need to pick him up and get him over there before they close. Hopefully tonight will be better and I hope to have a chance to catch up.

Becka - your post is the first one I'm reading today...and I'm sure others have already told you what I'm about to...

WE HAVE ALL BEEN THERE!!!! Seriously!!! It is no big deal. There will come a day when you will be out with other friends who have little ones who aren't behaving. You will see the parents getting stressed...you will glance over at your children who are behaving...relatively well compared to the others and you will SMILE!

Becka - tiredness, hunger, patience...they all play into the factor. Find a few little trinkets or games for them at the table...new ones...little dollar store ones and tell them if they sit there nicely for X minutes, you will be happy to give them their prize.

We've actually found that our children behave better and better b/c we actually take them out to nicer restaurants. We consider it practice...I consider it a welcome break.

Hang in there dear! Everything will be okay! :grouphug:

Oh big news here! We have a new little member of the family. DN and his wife had a bouncing baby boy last night. Carter is his name. We are, of course, amazed that they did not name him Dennis after their favorite uncle, but... :confused3 Can't wait to see him. Probably Saturday!

Congrats Angie!!! That's such sweet news. I was watching a little baby at football practice the other night and my boys asked me when I was "getting one of those"....uh oh!!

My district went on strike the beginning of my 4th teaching year. We knew which parents supported us and who did not. I hope it doesn't come to that for your school. It was VERY STRESSFUL! I almost have to laugh...initially many parents were against the "money hungry" teachers. After we were on strike and we had a judge and arbitrations and you name it..the teachers union agreed to every single contract that came back. The board kept dismissing them. After a while the parents started to realize what was going on and they really started to harass the board. For over a year ever time our negotiating team was to meet with the board only 1 or 2 member would show up....now that really shows how much they cared!

Now I know why you don't like your board!

We have some of the best teachers around - many of them are my friends. I sure hope we pass our levy, because we have had great labor relations, but the money is going to run out if we don't. We have always been fair - but I shudder to think what we will do if there is no additional money - I NEVER want to see a situation like what Elaine is talking about - that creates rifts in a community - some of which never heal.

BTW- Good morning, and happy after-hump day!

I am having major issues with our school. I will have to elaborate more later. My biggest issue is that my DD doesn't want to go to school because she is afraid of a kid in her class. I talked to the principal about it & feel like my concerns were dismissed. I do not feel that my child is safe in the school. I have never felt that way before. :(

And we have had room service bring us cereal, toast, coffee and juice. Just order the night before and tell them what time! We like to do this when we have early excursions. Allows me to sleep a bit longer. :thumbsup2

We did room service breakfast twice on our last cruise. It was especially nice on our CC day as it allowed us to be the first ones off the ship. :yay: DS still remembers how they brought him donuts in the mornings and he has big plans to have donuts delivered to him every morning. :rotfl:

All caught up.....again! :rotfl2: :surfweb: I'm gonna go have a glass of wine and sit with DrHug and hold hands, or something. If I had some dark chocolate I'd have a glass of port. YUM! :thumbsup2

Is that old-fashioned pricing? :lmao:

We can start our own candy talk Brandi. ;)

I love Snickers and Reeses - both of which my DH is allergic to. :sad2:

Yum....I love it too!!! I do believe it is an aphrodisiac. It will make everyone want to go and price!!!!!!

Note to self: Don't take any candy from Brandi! ;)

White chocolate is about the only candy that I do not desire...white chocolate and anything with raisins...otherwise...bring it on!

 twin! I also don't care for white chocolate or raisin candy! Is anyone shocked? :rotfl:

Becka, we have late seating for dinner so if things get hairy and there are no Flounders hours, just let me know and I'll take the little Princess for an hour until you are done eating!

You guys are all being so nice to me. I really hope that she will be fine. I am sure we will be able to handle her. She really did well last year but that was before she could walk or talk. ;) My big hope is that she gets along with Haley because she does love to watch other kids her age. :)

No----my hedgehog was lime green....sorry...apparently you don't esp in lime green!
:rotfl2:

It must be a problem with the monitors. I ESP'ed it in lime green but it didn't translate. :lmao:

Becka, as everyone else has said, it will be OK. Actually, sometimes I'm really glad to see another kid with a meltdown because my DS would settle and watch another kid's meltdown! He's fascinated by the show!!
