Becka, what's supposed to be next to the bouncing pumpkin in your sig? I can't see it right now (but it might just be me).

Becka, as everyone else has said, it will be OK. Actually, sometimes I'm really glad to see another kid with a meltdown because my DS would settle and watch another kid's meltdown! He's fascinated by the show!!

That is true. When one of my kids is having a fit the other is just fascinated. Maybe we can draw up a schedule so each of us with little kids gets a night? ;)

That is my name signature thing. The site I used to create it has been down for a day or so. I was hoping it would come back but so far no luck. I may have to get another one.

The Meltdown Show, with special guest appearances every night! Be sure to check your Navigator for the performer in each dining room.

Ahhhh. That's what was missing!

Maybe we'll get to the next milestone on our own! I just finished exercising and it would be nice if I showered, but I'll stay here instead. No one's home.

The site was back up when I just checked so I was able to fix my signature. :)

I don't think I will be able to stick around to the next milestone. I have to get some work done and then I have a training session to attend at 10:00. :(

Funny story to tell...

My father has to have a procedure done today where he actuallly swallows a camera...they leave it in his body all day to "videotape" his insides so they can figure out where he is bleeding....it's been a long problem...lots of transfusions....

...anyway...we were saying our prayers last night and we were praying for him. I explained to my boys that he was going to swallow this camera and my youngest asked, "Who's gonna press the button on the camera?"

Cute laugh in a serious situation.

Kids are so smart! :) Hope that they find the problem. :wizard:

Disney shopping has a daily deal on costumes and accessories today. Lots for 17.99 and accessories for $5.99. Even if Halloween is set, you may "need" to grab a princess dress for the cruise or the matching shoes for your costume!

Elaine you did here about that guy on they community board who had the possum in their mini-van....

I'd be double checking those doors.....

yes I did read about that - you know at night you just get so tired and after about the 5th trip to the car with all their "stuff" - I just didn't catch that the other door was open.

The dealer said he thought it was some kind of oil leak but I really don't think so - I was actually afraid that there was a dead animal somewhere underneath or elsewhere - whenever the heat or air got turned on it really became fragrant - shall we say.....

ah th joys of the pastoral life.

We just got word that the teachers are supposed to strike on Monday - very disappointing and AVOIDABLE. They are sending out letters to keep the kids at home. What a message to send to K students and others.

I've been through a strike as a parent. There's no one to "sub" or cover in a strike situation, although they did offer childcare through another company so that people who needed it had an option.

I am having major issues with our school. I will have to elaborate more later. My biggest issue is that my DD doesn't want to go to school because she is afraid of a kid in her class. I talked to the principal about it & feel like my concerns were dismissed. I do not feel that my child is safe in the school. I have never felt that way before. :(

Look up the school policy on harassment and bullying - I did. Call the school, write a letter, whatever....tell them you are aware of the policies and that they must be followed. Talk is talk, with proper backup (especially school policy backup) they have no room to let things slide.

Sometimes, they need a kick in the butt to figure out that they are there to do a job...not just teach, but protect the interests of the parents and children. Our school admin know how we feel about them - we complain a lot. We don't put up with anything.

Which reminds me....I found out that some of DD's teachers have been rewarding the kids with candy in class...great for kids who may have diabetes or some other dietary issues, not to mention dental concerns...Devon told me she ate a Jolly Rancher in class the other day and her tooth was hurting - was furious! :furious:

The schools seem to take a stance of "we will do it until we are caught" and then they fix it...nothing really against the teachers in general, its the admin that doesn't regulate the teachers closely enough to keep things like that from happening. :sad2: It's generally the really young (just-outa-school) teachers that are the issue; they don't have school children of their own and don't realize the troubles those of us with real-life children face.

Enough of my tirade...surprised wife hasn't jumped in on this one.

Hope your strike (if it happens) is resolved quickly. In PA there's a limit on how many days the strike can last (right, Brandi?) and a series of negotiation procedures that must take place.

Our strike was in 2001 and we had to make up all the missed days--spring break and most of the Monday holidays had to be used to make up the days. That was the year I was PTO president and unfortunately I had to be very careful to have no opinion or it might be construed to be a PTO stance. We had to remain neutral.

You guys are going to have to go a little faster.... ;)
