I finally convinced my husband that it will be fun to dress up for pirates night. I have a costume for my DH and DS. Now I need to find plus size costumes for me and DD. If anyone has ideas, please let me know.

BTW I have a childs red & white striped shirt, a small captain pirates hat, and a cheap plastic pirate belt. It is made for a small child maybe 6-8. If anyone is interested in it for their child, let me know as mmccarthy2@cinci.rr.com. I can mail it to you if you like.

The kids are really getting excited

Hey there - I found lots of pirate-like clothing for women at Kohls - gaucho type pants, ruffly shirts (sorry, not a fashion diva, so i dont know the proper terms for describing ) - anyway - you should be able to pick something up there - plus it was all on the sale racks!!

I have to run and sand some of DD's closet so that I can paint it tomorrow. Without a light in there it is harder because I like to do things at night.

I repainted/decorated the boys rooms 2 summers ago - it's weird, but I was MOST excited about the CLOSETS!! They hadn't been repainted since the contractors built the house, so they were so sad! That fresh paint just made me sooo happy!! LOL

I'm sorry I am beating this to death but I don't want to do the wrong thing.
Would we go to each cabin and drop things in the stocking? I know some mentioned that they were going to distribute to DIS people in the arrival area.
(sorry I know that has a technical name) or at the sail away party.

If we leave things in the stocking only for the 5-7 age group I'm afraid that the other kids in the family will get upset if they don't receive something - so this doesn't sound like it works.

am I micro-managing?

Elaine - I don't have an answer, but I just wanted to say - you sound just like me!! I keep finding myself wanting to call the others (we're travelling with 5 other families for the cruise) and tell them 'you need to do this, do you want to order that, don't forget to pay when, etc' haha
They have started calling me Julie (from the love boat).

ps...I just had a thought - if you are only doing for the 5-7 kids, you could put a gift tag (hey it is the holidays after all) with "To: 5-7 kids' names" and "From: your kids' names" - then it would be from the kids to the kids of the same age - would that work for you??

pss..uh-oh - am I now micro-managing elaine???

Becka, You are stressing me out. We are staying at GF. I have never stayed there. We have only stayed at the Swan, Beach Club Villas and Contemporary. We wanted to stay there because DD hated the bus system to Magic Kingdom and this was only a short stay instead of a week at those rates... We did the princess Tea with Sleeping Beauty in Feb, and it was DD's favorite thing on the entire trip! She just ate it up! So now I am stressed. How snooty are these people?

It really isn't the CM's. Don't stress...you will be just fine! I had to laugh when you said that DD hated the bus. After our last trip (DS was only 2) he kept telling everyone that he loved Dumbo, the train, and THE BUS!!!! That was one of his little highlights!!!

our group has also requested the 8:00 late seating - we are supposedly liked per our TA, but know that isn't a guarantee....but we aren't linked to the DIS group via lisa - hopefully, I'll see ya there!

Elaine - yes ABC is a wine/liquor store here. They have pretty good selection...at least the ones in Sarasota do.

About meeting THE PC.....the first time we dined at 1900, my Grandma was with us and she proceeded to straighten his belt when he came to our table. I have the picture of Samantha meeting him on my office wall. She was little with a full Cinderella costume on and was standing in her chair facing and holding on to the back of it. He has her hand leaning over to kiss it and her jaw is as close to touching the floor as possible. It is sooo cute!

Not much rain last night or this morning but they keep saying it's coming.

they usually give you a credit or book you on a later flight. Sorry! I did however, get full refunds on my flights to New Orleans 2 weeks after the hurricane hit..

I just called USAir and the idiot on the phone couldn't answer anything but "as of this moment those flights tomorrow will leave on time." When the storm gets here nothing will be running you moron!! She wouldn't even tell me WHAT IF. I guess that I am just stuck with these tickets whether or not we get to use them. I am wondering about putting the kids in the car & just driving up but that would be a long drive and we don't have air in the van so I would have to take the Accura. I could drive up to our friends in Fburg tomorrow and then get the kids up early to get to Baltimore...even though rush hour traffic. IDK how far it would be. I hate to miss this but it is looking like that will happen. I'm going to be a total mess at the doctor's today.

Diana - thanks for your reply - I just don't want to offend anyone by not giving to every child but since there is already 70 kids I don't know what would be good for every age group. Maybe as we get closer to cruise time othes will fill us in about what they are doing. Not sure if I trust shipping chocolate to Florida even in Dec. - what if it sits somewhere outside and melts?
