LOL! I was wondering if everyone else had gone to bed. Wish I had but I got caught up in organizing pictures on here & chatting...then it is 1 am and I am wide awake.

I don't think you ever sleep. Tonight I am using DH laptop because he accidentally shipped my power cord with the printer and it won't be back until Tuesday, but it is really fast, I think I want one of these. Problem is, I don't use a laptop at work, I only use it to travel and he uses his all the time. So, I will stop complaining now and just be happy with what I have.

Did I tell you my cousin dated Donnys son? This feels a lot like 6 degrees of seperation....

Whew! Two days on the road and there were pages and pages of posts to catch up on.

We are in Southern Cal now. Joy, waved as we came through Elk Grove yesterday! Pool party and BBQ tomorrow at DrHug's sister's then 3 days at DL. :woohoo: :woohoo: I talked with Jordan and he will meet us Mon and Wed evenings and play with us for awhile. Will be great to see him. :grouphug:

Angie, have fun in Disneyworld. If you have not already, see if you can take the 50th tour, you get to ride 5 rides with no wait and a "super fast pass" , you can ride any ride without waiting, for later. Plus you get a cool pin and replicas of the tickets from 50 years ago. Then you get to watch the parade from a chair in a sectioned off place and they bring you a snack. We saved about 3 hours of waiting time doing this. But knowing you, you have probably already been there, done that....

Some days I don't think I sleep enough to count. Too late to take anything now. Last night at midnight I tried the Rx motrin the doctor gave me. I woke up at 8 am alert & ready to go. That was the earliest I have woken up in a while...and I never feel ready to get going.

Well, I am going to sign off now & try to get some sleep. Catch up with you guys tomorrow...I mean later today. :)

That is outrageous! Ours was given to us but I KNOW that it didn't cost that much. Sounds like you need to go shopping in Orlando...or know someone who can get one for you cheaper. ;)

i thought about that, but as I live in Canada, we have to purchase our reciever up here, and they just started service in January, so I am aiming for new car purchase time. But I have done the free trial on my computer several times, lol.

I noticed a few songs from Wicked on those shuffle lists. I have the book on my to be read pile. Off topic but did you like it? Is it scary? (okay I admit it I still close my eyes when the teacher is riding her bike and becomes the witch in the movie - yikes). I really wanted to see it in NY and now the touring show is coming here. I love going to shows. DD saw her first musical last month - Annie.

Book was somewhat different from the show, as I had the soundtrack first, so the story confused me a little, but it was great. I am hoping to see the show this fall when the touring show returns to Toronto.

6. Course of Love -- Jim Brickman

10. An Innocent Man- Billy Joel

Where is Donny????

Kim,

We love musicals, but have only gotten to Broadway once . . . got to see Les Mis. We took Sophia to the Lion King when it was in Cleveland, and a friend recently saw Wicked in Cleveland and raved about it. DS was involved in vocal music while in HS, and we enjoyed the different productions that they put on.

Wish we had the time or $$$ to do and see more of it.

Here's a secret (Don't tell Amy I told you all - Hah!) In HS, Amy was the "Mother Superior" in "The Sound of Music" - we still somewhere have the cassette of her singing the solo of "Climb Every Mountain".

DS got all his talent from Mom, I can't sing a lick, and always off key. I'm afraid at this point DD Sophia got dad's vocal skills :guilty:

DD13 is the only iPod owner in the house, but she is very nice and has songs loaded for her little brother too. So when her top 10 played shows a number of Wiggles tunes, she has to explain that she is helping to entertain him on a 10-hour car ride to the grandparents.

We've had lots of fun with touring Broadway shows this year. Got the family a subscription to the Broadway at the Academy series in Philly and got to see Wicked and The Lion King, as well as Doctor Doolittle and Annie. We saw Lion King in New York about 5 years ago and loved it there, too, of course.

Just sent DD13 off to field hockey camp at Lehigh University for the next 4 days with her two best friends... one of the other families is driving them there, and I get to pick up the girls and the dirty laundry later in the week... hmmm... may need some extra air freshener in the minivan.

no iPod here either.....I'm sure if we had one the girls would find some way to destroy it!

I am pretty excited about this cruise as well. We're still undecided about what to do before hand. I am not sure how long the drive is from Sarasota to PC but I bet it's pretty far - one coast to the other!! We could also stay at my mom's which is kind of half way - but this is vacation we're talking about....that may not start it on such a great foot. Last year we stayed two nights at WDW, but I'd rather spend that $$ on the cruise and not sure if DH can get an extra day or two off this year....

decisions, decisions!

Wicked is awesome. I saw it twice actually and really love the soundtrack.
Nothing in it is scary in fact there's parts that are pretty sad. I think everyone i was with cried at the end.

I saw it first at Kennedy Center in DC with some friends and then when i told my DH about it, he and DD bugged me to no end so we got tickets when they came to Philly.

I'm plugging my way through the book currently. It's alot more involved than the musical and story is sorta different. I've got the sequel book "Son of a Witch" in the wings to read too. Maybe i can get to it by the cruise.

As for musicals, my group of friends at the gym, ( we're the Bally girls), goes into DC to see some a few times a year. This is my first year going with them so i've only seen Wicked and more recently Spamalot. We're getting tickets to the Warner Theatre to see Aida,The Producers, Chicago, and Sweet Charity.

87Heel- My DD is 13 too. She usually goes to GS camp for a week or 2 but is doing something different this year. She's a working student at a farm (for riding lessons) so if she works at the day camp program for three weeks she gets to attend their advanced 10 day camp for free. (Free is good when you consider what camps cost. Their 10 day is over $500 for regular campers.)

So the next five weeks we have to take her there each day. (i like sleep away camp better for that reason.) She would love to go away for the whole summer but unless I win the lottery or rob a bank, I'm not sure that's going to happen.

PJ - i have a sirius satellite radio. Only paid $29.99 for my car reciever. Unfortunatly we haven't been able to get a signal inside with the home antennea. I think we need to by some kind of extra exterior kind for our house. (But i can listen at work through streaming on the internet.)

Well I'm off for a day of shopping and I'm going to stop at someones house to cuddle some 1 month old Berner Puppies. (like Abby)

I have to keep mine put up because DS loves it. He thinks it is so cool that I have my music on something that small without CDs. He keeps wanting me to put "his" music on it and I keep telling him no. I listen to it at work and the last thing I want to have to listen to is the Wiggles. :rotfl:

I have considered getting DS a very cheap mp3 player and load it up with his songs for him. I was originally thinking Christmas but it might really be useful on our drive to Florida. ;)

so has anyone started getting things together for the cruise....

I have purchased both DD's some new cruise wear but am waiting to get any attire for myself til a bit closer?

I am hoping to hit the end of summer sales for a few items for the kids and myself. I did buy a new dress for the cruise already. We went in February so I hope I already have stocked up on some of the smaller stuff we needed then. :)

Staples is having its back-to-school sale with great prices - 8 cents for 24 pack of crayons, 39 for colored pencils, and 49 for markers. I got 10 packs of each (the limit for 2 of us) to take to the school on the tour at CM. It is a pretty big box and for under $10. But much easier than playground balls.;)
