All I know is that this is the most excited I have been about going on a cruise. We had alot planned last cruise...or so I thought. LOL! I can't wait to meet all of you!

If we actually dock I'll get off the ship for about an hour to do some shopping, but aside from that I'd rather relax on the ship for most of the day.

I was holding off on my next Mac purchase waiting for the 12" Pro, but then when I found out that there would not be one, and that the MacBook was replacing it, I made up my mind. I am right now using my BLACK (yeah, I forked over the extra for it) MacBook - and I LOVE this sleek little machine. Amy is using my old 12" Powerbook G4, which was really a nice laptop too. With the new MacBooks though, you get so much more for your $$$. Since I am a school board member, I get the educators discount - $200 off.

As far as iPods go, I am awaiting what will be new before I upgrade that. I have my nice little 2gb nano that I wish had more space, but I just love it too. My other iPod (2nd gen 10 gb) failed some time ago. DW has a newer 20 gb regular iPod that she will bring along - but not color. Sophia has a shuffle with all of her Disney and Bible songs on it (and REM's greatest hits, and Jimmy Buffet - the kid has eclectic taste).

I am hoping for a better video iPod by our cruise - or one with Wi-Fi capability. I just can't see watching video on current iPod screens.

Sorry for all the tech blabber for all you non-geek DIS'ers. DW knows I am an Apple Geek from a long way back (original computer was an Apple IIe), and a gadget geek.

BTW - took my laptop on our last vacation, but did not even use it to transfer photos or even download my CF card once! I got one of the 2gb ultra cards on sale at Best Buy, and it lasted the whole vacation (like 400 photos) on my Rebel xt.

Rumors say that there will be a 8 or 10 gb nano, hard state memory, will show before the wide format ipod video. I think they will get rid of the 2 gb at the same time. There is not enough price space for 1/2/4/ and 8 or 10 gb before the 30 gb video. PS if the video is disney, any size of screen can make me smile!
I really wanted a 12" PB, but was able to get a 1.5 ghz SD 15' PB G4 for under $1000, less then half of the 12" at the time.

Next big purchase will be a Canon S3Si or similar, really liked the S2Si but it has disappeared from stores up here. I have a Canon A70 that I bought just before my last cruise, and it uses CF cards, so a new camera means new cards, , not as many deals up here for those.

If only I could convince Lisa to loan us her daughter and john would loan us Sophie.....

It's not the adults that you will have to convince with those two.

LOL about the boots! We met at a country dance bar & DH went out & bought a very nice pair of boots when he was out in CA.

With all of this talk about iPods (I LOVE mine ) I thought it might be a fun little way to learn something about people if you put your iPod/mp3 on shuffle and put down the first 10 songs. No cheating even if it is one of those embarrassing songs. I always think I can learn a lot about somebody just from the kind of music they listen to. I happen to be listening to mine so I guess I will go first. Gee, I hope nothing too bad comes up....

I proudly admit that I am technically illiterate. We have XM radio & when the kids aren't listening to Radio Disney, I enjoy Highway 16 (country music). Our computer sounds like a dinosaur compared to everything you guys are talking about.

You guys ought to get out and see the real Cozumel , rent a jeep go over to the east side ... We should actually be docking in December , I will be there in 3 weeks from today and will update you on the pier where the Magic docks ... But Honestly there is tons of beauty in Coz , just get off the beaten path , smile and the locals will embrace you ...Most likely we are going around the island in a jeep so if any of you want to tag along let me know .

Todd, there will be seven ships in port the same day as us, we are the first to arrive at 7:30 and the second, the Star Princess, will be in at 8:00 am, if she is back in service. I hope bring the first in will be a good sign for docking if the dock is back up.

We only got off in CM in January. We were going to rent a car to go to the far beach in GC, but the kids decided they wanted to swim in the pool instead. In CM we were only off for about an hour, but the people were rather pushy IMHO as one woman was trying to sell someone a RCCL towel! I was bugged majorly for my DCL lanyard also as they like to sell these and DCL hadn't been there much by this point. One man wanted to give me a can of Coke a Cola for it! Um...ok!?! NOT!!

I found Bermuda to not only be beautiful, but free from any kinds of hassle being a tourist. I'm sure it must have something to do with them having little to no unemployment, but it was very relaxing where ever we went.

that's my role in the family. Gadget nerd - that would be me but my ears also perked up at the sports discussion so change that to sporty gadget nerd. DH shakes his head at my love of Apple (although he's been using his Nano) and Disney but the sports thing - well that is understandable. lol! DD is a combination of us both - she won't let her Dad touch her eMac and she thinks I'm deficient in my sports stats.

That's what my DH said as well. He likes to go exploring so I am sure we'll be walking around Cozumel. He made me get off the boat in Nassau and while I hated the Straw Market I liked the other places we visited. He's not familiar with Mexico so it should be interesting his take on it all.
