10/4/08-Buccaneers Take the West! Cruiser List in Post #1

Hi All! I am game for the fish extender. I have seen threads with detailed instructions for those that are craft-impaired. I looked one up on ebay... and they wanted $35! :scared1: Do you leave gifts for everyone everyday? or just the kids?

Did you all see the price increase for Palo...

Palo Price Increase

Effective 1/10/08 on the Disney Wonder and 1/12/08 on the Disney Magic, the price of dining at Palo increases to $15 per person for both the brunch and dinner.

Orleans - you were no moare than 2 hours south of me and really close to Jan. We got more snow. Do let me know if you travel this direction again and maybe we can get together.

Vow Renewal - what a nice thing for you and your DH to do. Keep us posted.

I can not remember what I paid but less than $20 and that included the shipping. She didn't make any money doing them, that is for sure. I actually worried that maybe she didn't clear her expenses.

Happy day. We are one day closer and on page two. That just won't do. Hopefully this post will move us page to page one. Lois

Hi everyone. Here we are on page 2 again but I'm not complaining as I certainly haven't done my part as far as posting goes.

About the FE (fish extender) gifts. You can do it any way you want. Some people gave regional gifts, there was a lot of pirate things....just whatever you want to give. Oriental Trading Co has some neat, inexpensive things.

I need 3 FEs as we all will take up three staerooms. I have 2, just got to get one more!

Is everyone dressing for pirate's night? DH, our DGS (Disney grandson) and I will. I know one of our Dss will as he already has his outfit from year before last.

My kids will be dressing up for sure. DH will if I do... and that depends on how much weight I lose beforehand! Big as a house... just a pirate T-shirt. Cute figure= cute outfit! I ordered the kids the pirate ears with their names embroidered on them, also.

For those not willing/able to make a fish extender... I will make one in the next few weeks and post pics. If you like it, I will figure out the cost and make one for you as well. I am also planning to make tie-dye mickey T-shirts to wear one day, and one with a pink princess crown for Avery to wear on her birthday.

I can't wait to see one. I have been trying to make 3 for over a year and they still sit in pieces in the craft drawer. Lois

Unfortuneately, that is my problem, too! My sewing machine is in my bedroom upstairs... but by the time I get to see that room, I am too tired to sew.

Moved mine into the dining room. Didn't help. Just have so many other things I would rather do.

Hi everyone!

Hope everyone's week started off well. I know my Monday sure went better this week than last week's, lol. Kids were a little more settled down today. Tomorrow we're having a committee meeting after school....at Chilis!!! That gives me something to look forward to. We've been really good this month. We've only been out to eat twice in January. We went out for New Year's Eve, and then last Tuesday, we went to Golden Corral for our son's soccer dinner.

We've NEVER been that long without eating out, but we have to live within our budget or I can kiss the big Mickey boat good-bye and THAT'S surely not happening!

Well, have a great Tuesday everybody! Talk to you later!

Oh, I forgot to ask, is anyone's kids interested in corresponding with other kid Bucaneers? My DS12 asked if anyone his age was going, so just thought I'd ask.

Lori P. :)

Lori,

My DS12 would love to correspond with your DS. I've also got a 10 year old DS that is interested in corresponding with someone his age as well. My older DS emailed another boy that was on our last cruise and they hung out some together and had a great time. You can PM me if you want.

Gena

Lori

My DS would like to correspond as well. He is 8 (will just be 9 on the cruise).
My DD would like to as well with other girls. She is 11 (& will be nearly 12 when we cruise).

Tania

Ladies, my DS12 keeps asking me how he can start "talking" to your kids, so do you think it would be better to have the kids email each other or should they start a cruise meet thread of their own?

I was thinking that if they have a thread then all kids can post to each other and like age groups can respond to each other within the thread. What do you think?

Lori P. :)

Just a little bumb.

I don't have any kids on this thread but I think the thread might be the best. Then any newcomers can join at anytime and the parents can monitor what the kids are doing/saying. Just a thought. Lois

Good points, Lois. Thanks!

I'll have my 12 year old start a post this afternoon if we have time. If someone else gets to it first, that's fine. Just let us know.

I don't know about you guys, but I think Friday afternoon is a BEAUTIFUL thing! Especially when I'm off work on Monday! Yeahhhh!!!

Hi Everyone!

We are heading into sub zero weather in mid-Michigan this weekend. But, it won't stop me from having a girls' weekend. My friend, Sue, and my goddaughter, Alyssa, and I are heading to a hotel. Alyssa loves spending nights at a hotel -- with a pool, breakfast and watching movies.

I will post staterooms on post #1 for the fish extender participants and others.

Karibritt01, put me on the list for you to make me a fish extender, please. I am seriously lacking in creativity so I will pay a ransome fee for one.

Kim -- Orleans -- as Gail said, you were less than an hour from us. We are just west of Lansing. When you visit this area again, we'll have to plan a mini DIS reunion.

Jan

Karribritt01, please add my name also to the list of those needing a fish extender. I need all the help I can get in the sewing dept.

Looks like we have a chance for snow here tomorrow. We have ballgames scheduled for 10 and 11, thankfully at the same gym. The weather forcast says it depends on where the system goes whether we will actually get any accumulation or just a dusting. I am just thankful we have a 3 day weekend. Somehow you can tell when there is going to be a full moon, snow or a day off just by the way the kids are acting at school. Hope everyone has a relaxful weekend.

Also, I have a prayer request of everyone. One of my dearest friends has found out both parents have cancer. Her father was diagnosed with brain cancer last summer and her mother just found out yesterday that her cancer has returned after being cancer-free for 5 years. She is just like a sister to me (I am an only child). Our families are very close. Her family lives in Mississippi, and she will be traveling there this weekend for her mother's surgery on Tuesday. She, her family and I would appreciate you remembering them.

Gene, you have prayers no question. I will keep your friend, her parents and you in my prayers. She is lucky to have such a wonderful friend. Lois
