Happy birthday Amy.

Hope that everyone has a great weekend. Mike

Happy Birthday Amy. Have a great time in WDW.

Congrats on your new wheels Eric and thanks for the updated list, although I haven't yet checked my email for it.

WELCOME to all the new cruisers! I am never going to be able to keep everyone straight.

MooCow - We saw Sweet Charity a month or so ago and enjoyed seeing Christina Applegate perform. Have fun.

So many things were in my head to write and now they are gone.... This getting old and forgetful stage is getting, well, old! LOL

Jean - I went to Yahoo and got as far as the commercial which was a cute Pepsi commercial reverse on mousemaze. However, then something happened and all my open internet pages closed so I never saw video or got to vote. Sorry.

Preparing for our big trip. Leaving Friday early a.m. So much to do, so little time. Going to be in the Twins neighborhood on Monday and Tueday 7/25 & 26 and leaving the area on Wednesday. Going to be in Nashville and catch up with Mike and Kathy on Saturday and Sunday 7/30 & 31, leaving Monday. Hey Big Red! I checked out Lebanon and it's not far from Nashville. Maybe we can have a mini-meet with you too!

A big hello to all the "old" regular Cruisetoberfest friends. Glad Fiona and Jim got to have a nice visit with Bette and Kim.

Speaking of which, we were thinking of driving RV up for cookie night but decided that weather would be an unknown factor that might not work out well. But, we are still thinking of heading up via automobile for cookie night.

Also, when we return in August from our trip, would THAT be the time to start figuring out what is going to happen when Eric and Anja arrive in NYC with Pete and Jen? Or, are we going to wing it, which is always an interesting alternative and usually my method since I am not really big on planning ahead.

Catch you all later.

2nd edit - I edited this once because I realized I put the wrong dates down for PCB with the Twins, had correct dates for Nashville. However, on going over this, I realize now that after leaving Nashville, we have TWO nights to get home, not the one that I thought. This is GREAT news and I can't wait to verify this with Rich because it is late and I get confused easily. Why didn't I figure this out before? Rich even said to me the other day that we are going to have two days to travel but I told him he was wrong. This will really help in making an easy ride home. I mean, correct me if I'm wrong but if we leave Nashville on Monday and don't plan on being home until Wednesday, that gives us Monday night and Tuesday night. This is great. I really hope I didn't screw up the ressies somewhere earlier down the road. Gotta go over this tomorrow

Just thought I would add my MIL turned 90 on Friday and tomorrow, Sunday (which I think is already today), we are having a small family celebration at the Nursing Home for her.

Wow! Congrats to your MIL Rosemary! Have a great day with her today!

Congratulations to your MIL Rosemary. Mike

Rosemary: congrats to your MIL....that's amazing. I don't know what went wrong with the video clip....everytime I've done it I get a Saturn commercial. Just click on Mae and you should get the video....it's really cute. Don't click on full screen unless you have really good resolution (or want to stand 10 feet away!) Here's the link again: Check it out and take a minute to
vote for Mae:

Thanks,

I haven't been posting on this thread much lately but I just wanted to pop in to say that I really really REALLY wish we were leaving for our cruise YESTERDAY!!!

I can't believe we have to wait until NEXT YEAR!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your MIL! Enjoy the celebration today! :sunny:

Happy Birthday to your MIL, Rosemary :wave2:
And more congratulations to NYC: A New Yorker won today's leg of the Tour de France :cheer2:

Jeanne,
we just watched the video. We liked it very much and of course also voted for it!!

We already have 550km/342mls on the odo. Today I met with a guy from an internetforum for our old car on a truckstop between Heidelberg and Frankfurt and sold him our old car's wind blocker. So except for some modelcars everything remembering of it is gone now.
Of those 550km we drove 530 with the top down. We still have temps around 35°C/95°F over here, so we obviously picked the right time to buy a new convertible :sunny:

We're game! I told Mike not long after we got back from CF III, we should get together and have dinner somewhere. Well, due to my lazyness and forgetfulness, it just never has happened. Maybe this is what we need to get it done! Just tell us when and where.
Allen

Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone. The greatest part is that my birthday isn't even until tomorrow, so it's a nice, long celebration. We usually go out for dinner, but I decided that it would probably be less stressful for the girls to just have a nice steak & shrimp dinner at home.

WDW was a blast. We just realized today that it's the actual 50th anniversary celebration of Disneyland today. We ended up getting 2 limited edition pins commemorating the event. One was just for today, the other is a 12-pin collection that will come out on the 17th of every month. We thought that we might be able to pick them up over the next year to complete the collection.

Eric, sorry that I can not remember, but does your new car have a built in gps navigation?

Looking forward to meeting everyone when we cruise. Mike

Happy Birthday, Amy!
We saw Willy Wonka yesterday. I'm a big Johnny Depp fan, but I had seen the trailer several times and seriously had my doubts. He just seemed so weird! Well, both John and I LOVED it. He IS weird, but it really works. They were very true to the original R. Dahl version. The oompa-loompa songs are the same as in the Gene Wilder version since they are from the book, but Tim Burton gives them a very different spin and we found them hilarious. The support cast is also excellent. I especially loved Violet's mother....I know people EXACTLY like her!

I am glad to hear a good review of it! Colton and I both read the book over the last school year and knew it was different from the original movie. I have not liked the commercials for this one and reviews have been mixed. The boys want to go and see it, so we may take them....If ever I get a day free!
I sure do wish this cruise was THIS October and not next year! ...sigh... Soon we will be able to have the one year countdown!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AMY!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :cheer2: :bounce:

I had a pleasant surprise when I brought the mail in today. Got a DCL CD as thanks for taking our Wonder cruise in June. The first track is the ship's horn and the last track is the sound of waves washing up on the shore of Castaway Cay (with bird sounds in the background). The 8 tracks in between are really cool tropical music. The whole thing lasts about 19 minutes, Even tho our Wonder cruise was short, it helped to make the wait for next October's cruise more bearable.

Happy Birthday Amy :cake:

Happy Birthday to Rosemary's MIL

Michele is your ankle doing better?

Jeanne--- I wanted to let you know that DS#1 watched the video and he actually knows who that band is. His GF has a couple of their CD's and Erik used till until they were stolen this past semester. Both him and his GF voted for them.

I am going on my soapbox for a few mintues. As I have complained DS#2 is doing a Women's Studies course online this summer. It is so much better when they are at college doing this stuff. Anyway, this past chapter had an article written by 3 feminist who ripped apart the Disney Princesses (Cinderalla, Sleeping Beauty, Ariel, Bell and Pochonatas). These women need to get a life, what 4-5 year old look at Cinderalla and see a weak female who is suppressed by her environment. I ranted the rest of the night after I read the article. Good thing I wasn't doing the report on the article. Off my soap box.

Jean--- The CD sounds very nice. Lucky you for getting a little bit of Disney delivered to your house.

Back to work for me.

Nancy...I am watching the Amazing Race on GSN...I missed the first episode and it is amazing how much differently they play the game....I started tuning in (originally) during the middle of season 2.....wonder who wins this one? It is interesting to hear Phil say that the last team to arrive will be eliminated.... not might be eliminated to keep us guessing. Doesn't Phil look more mature in the later shows?? The only thing that I don't like is the fact that I have to drop whatever I'm doing at 9:00 EST every night!!

I have avoided looking at the AR official website so that I don't know who wins. I don't like Team Guido. People complained about Romber, these 2 are worse than Rob or even Colin from AR5. Phil looks so young, plus did you notice he only apppear at the mat if you are eliminted. The editing is terrible in season 1, I can't keep track of who is in what position until they get to the pit stop.

Hope you are having a better day at work.

Nancy

For the last two hours I configured my new PDA and installed a navigation software on it. I had to restart my notebook a couple of times doing this when I installed components for teh PDA on it.
Is it possible that you tried reaching me via Skype during that time, Peter? While the notebook shut down once, I saw Skype pop up, but couldn't do anything about it :confused3
Now I have to go down to the car to install the hardware. Anja has to work the nightshift and I'll try check out teh GPS while driving her to work.

Perhaps we can Skype tomorrow, Peter :wave2:

PS:
Nearly forgot to mention, that I received four copies of the new Harry Potter shortly before my lunchbreak and already read the first chapter. It seems to be great!! I have to resist 'flying' through the book, if you know what I mean ;)

Does not sound like you had fun at work Mary Jo. Hope it's better now.

Still a heat wave here but it did rain on the weekend. Did not do anything at all about the humidity though.

Got Harry Potter on Saturday and I'm on page 200+. Jim is behind me but he let me bring it to work today so I read on my lunch.

Am going to clean up my desk a little and then leave. It will all be here tomorrow.

Fiona
