turned out to be a good day after all. Unit was low on freon and it was gassed up. A leak was fixed and it only cost 135 dollars. COOL AIR   :rotfl2: Now comes the bad part. Since it is 15 years old, I need to save up and replace it within a year as the accummulater is starting to rust out. :sad2: The joys of home ownership. Mike

PS Just opened my mac mini and installed a 1 gigabyte stick of ram with the apple special upgrade tool. (A very thin and flexible putty knife) Mike

Great news about the clinic Ave. Have our fingers crossed for the offer to go through and for you to get your foundation poured before Dennis visits the panhandle. Mike

Hi everyone! We're finally having a bit of a cool down. Last Friday night when we left the ballgame it was 57 degrees! It got down to 53 that night. I'm actually sitting on the patio with a sweatshirt on and I'm very comfortable. Sorry so many of you are too hot! Here's hoping you get some of our cooler, less humid temps!

Tracy

Hi All! Hoping Eric and Anja having a great time in Vienna! CC - Hope your ankle is better and WHAT A CUTE PUPPY!!!! We thought about getting a goldendoodle but ended up with Hershey - a Chesapeake Bay Retriever - who just got, ummmm, neutered on Thursday. He is really a great puppy. Good luck with yours.

Ave! It was great seeing you guys in D.C. Never did catch up with my brother on Saturday. We played telephone tag all day long, it was kinda fun but it would have been better to get together.

D.C. really was a great getaway that we really needed. We were gone for four days but it seemed like a week of relaxation (even though we walked our little feetsies off!) Hope to return again. The CG was really nice, just a little disappointed that the bus ride to the Metro was longer than expected but still would do it again in a hearbeat!

My baby turned 21 over the holiday weekend. Corona and sliced limes was the drink of the day. Had a party for him on the 3rd, his actual B-day. Everything went great and a good time was had by all.

Looking forward to our big trip at the end of this month. We will be seeing both family and DIS cruise friends! Have ressies for all "ports of call" except for the first night's stop on the way down to Florida and a place to stop between Nashville and PA on the way home. So, still a work in progress. (Ave - Had to book Panama City Beach RV Resort. St. Andrews had no sites left to accommodate our rig :( )

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the people who were affected by the bombing in London. How tragic that terroists can destroy so many innocent lives.

Rosemary--- Nice to hear from you again. Sounds like you are enjoying your RV. Have a great vacation. DS#2 turned 21 end of May. So glad that milestone is behind us.

Michele--- Hope your ankle is feeling better. Your puppy has really grown since his last picture.

Mike--- Glad the AC didn't cost to much.

Ave--- Hope the clinic works out. Sorry to hear about the delay in getting the foundation done.

We are continuing to spend our summer doing things around the house. Norm went out to trim bushes and decided instead to get the chain saw out and just cut them down. Of course that meant we had to find something else to put in there. I still have to paint our bedroom. I did the ceiling this past weekend. Hopefully, I can finish the walls this coming weekend. I so want the painting done as I have lost all interest in doing it.

Got to get busy at work.

Nancy

I forgot to mention that I got a statement in the mail from AAA saying that the balance for my cruise needed to be paid by Aug 1st. For a minute I thought I was booked on a cruise for 2005 and they didn't have me booked for Oct 2006. Called them and they confirmed that I did not have to pay it and I was booked for Oct 2006. So I can hold onto my money for a little longer.

Nancy

Our prayers go out to the people of London esp. when they should be celebrating. Can't believe that people think bombs are the way to get their point across. :grouphug:

Michele - Hope today is going better for you. Stay sitting and eat chocolate!

Rosemary - glad you had a good time with your RV and have a good trip down south shortly too!

DS turns 19 on Monday and here 19 is the drinking age. He'll be at the base for his actual birthday and I asked him what he was going to do. His reply - "get wasted" and then he laughed. Hopefully he will be careful. He won't have a car so that's one good thing. I think I'll feel better on Tuesday.

Ave - good news about the clinic if it actually moves. I'd love to work just a mile from home! Hopefully the foundation will be poured and they can move quickly onto the rest of the house. When is it supposed to be finished?

Mike - glad the a/c wasn't too expenseful.

Winotracy - no need for sweatshirts here except in our house as my mother keeps the a/c quite high. I think she feels the heat more as she's getting older.

Nancy - Good luck with the work around the house. Don't envy you all the painting. It's ok to start but then just gets tedious.

Back to work.

Fiona

Fiona: Welcome to the club.....Nancy and I just recently had kids that turned 21 (legal age here). Apparently if Monday is his birthday, the celebration should take place Sunday evening at midnight....at least that's how it works around here. My daughter did so much PREcelebrating, she only lasted at the bar until about 5 minutes past midnight. Unfortunatedly she had an unplanned rendezvous with the contents of her stomach, which brought her "party" to a quick end. I am SO GLAD it's all over....and now that it's legal, well, darnit, it just ain't that much fun anymore! Be thankful your son won't be driving......just make sure he's with someone responsible. Good luck....I don't envy you!

Thanks for all the well wishes and pixie dust! I did do too much yesterday, but last night the neighbor across the street brought out her chiminea and s'mores fixin's. I grabbed two chairs and made my way across the street. The boys had a blast and we all enjoyed sitting around the fire. It was a really nice night! This morning I turned on the TV at 9 and didn't get out of bed until 1030 watching CNN/HNN/FOX. What a mess. My heart goes out to all that are there. So now I am just getting moving! There is laundry to do and dishes to wash. I promise to go slow and take breaks! I am just not one to SIT all day! If the Doctor wanted me to do that, he should have prescribed better drugs! :earboy2:

Hope that everyone has a great weekend. Mike

Prayers and pixie dust to all in the path of Dennis the Menace....Avé and Mary...we will say our prayers that this storm comes nowhere near PCB...enough already for the residents of Florida...how much can these people take?

Prayers and pixie dust to all who are ailing....Michele...hope the ankle is better...I have sprained the same ankle several times and then a few years ago, I broke the ankle when I fell off of a ledge at The Land of Make Believe!! They seem to take forever to get back to normal and even now, I think that I have arthritis in the ankle because I can usually predict the weather with both my ankle and knee!!

It is a rainy Friday here in Pennsylvania....remenants of Cindy they are saying. The only Cindy that I like is at WDW!! Mary Jo

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Pixie dust to all of our friends that are sick or under the weather.

Ave and Mary batten down the hatches girls. We have our fingers crossed for you.

Mike and Kathy

Hello from the Sunshine State! :sunny: Beautiful day today. But Dennis may become a factor. The town is getting ready. The tourist are starting to leave.
And the stores are crowded with people buying emergency supplies. As of right now we do not plan on leaving. We will board up, and see what the next 24 hours bring. The folks at job #2 are going into lock down tomorrow at 6pm. 2 nurses per house, and no one can leave till it's over. The forcasters are saying we should be getting the worst of the weather on Sunday. So we still have some time to get ready. :umbrella:
I'm hoping Dennis takes a hard left, and misses FL altogether. We'll just have to wait and see.
Got to run and do the laundry, don't want to be without clean clothes if we lose power.
Will check in later. Keep those thoughts and prayers coming!
Avé

Prayers and thoughts to Ave and Mary -- and all others in Dennis' path. I agree -- enough already.

Here it's bright and sunny and I don't think that we are scheduled to get much of Cindy. It's still humid too.

It's very quiet at work now as everyone has left. Am just finishing up stuff and then am going to leave for the WEEKEND!!!

Hope everyone has a great one and that Dennis burns himself out without hitting Florida first.

Fiona

Pixie dust and prayers to the twins. Sure hope that Dennis leaves you alone. My best friend lives in St. Petersburg and she and her DH were planning to start a drive to Canada on Sunday for a visit with her family (Hamilton, Fiona -- anywhere near you? - obviously I do not know any Canadian geography). I wonder if they will postpone the drive. Last time I watched the weather it looked as tho Dennis might hit that area also. What is with the hurricanes this year and last -- totally unreal!! I think they are still working on repairing hurricane damage at Disney's VB resort. My SIL & BIL live in Vero and there are many people there who are still waiting to get repairs made -- too much damage and too few contractors to do the work. Good luck to all in Florida and other areas that Dennis is threatening.

Well, I live in St. Petersburg, and we're starting to get some of the outer rain bands here. We have coastal flood watches, but for now, they are still predicting that this storm will move north. But, we're all on alert because of Charley last year. You just never know when these storms can change directions. We have our plywood ready to go and water and food too. Here we go again!!!

Stay safe everyone! I have to say....as much as these storms are dreaded in the south, we could sure use the rain from them! The crops are suffering horribly this year. Be careful and post when you can! :flower1:
