Good morning all - back from a weekend of camping with the Boy Scouts. I ache all over and have a cold, but otherwise am doing fine.

Welcome back Robin - you are braver than I am. Not a camper.

Jamie had dance competition last weekend (proud mom here), her group placed first overall. Here is a picture of her that we got during one of her dances.

I also did a real quick trip to DL and took her for her annual mother/daughter birthday trip (she is 16 on April 16th). Took her to Wicked and to Disneyland and met up with some of our friends and did the Disneyland Hotel Easter Brunch. It was lots of fun. Okay, back to work.

Congrats to Jamie - I remember her singing at the talent show on the 10 day. She certainly is turning into a beautiful young lady. The Disneyland trip sounds like fun. Is Eden still in Wicked? I'd love to see it.

What is the onboard discount for booking? There is an Eastern in 2009 in October I am looking at and wonder if I should wait until we get on the ship to book? Do you think it will fill up? With my job I can only cruise the end of the month and I love the three sea days!!!

Usually it is 10% and then a $200 on board credit for a 7 day cruise. We love the Eastern and we're doing one in less than 4 weeks now.

Mary whats the scoop on the Chat Room?

Still no word from Admin. I know they are looking at new software but I don't think they've found one that will do what they want.

Good morning everyone - happy Tuesday!

Looks like it is going to be a nice day here in Chicagoland. Only due to get to the 40's today but into the 50's as the week goes on. Yeah Spring!

.

Thanks Mary -is there room in you luggage for some stow aways!!!! Are you ready? I love the 7 days, it's so much more relaxing.

I have to go to Panama City tonight to do some night audit training. Which can only happen after midnight!! I am not a late nighter at all. So they give me a room on the beach and it's supposed to rain............ugh I was hoping for a long walk on the beach tonight. So I am going to have to nap and then get up at 11:30 of so. Work for a few hours and then go back to sleep... This should be interesting.

Have a great Tuesday every one.

Just got back from town doing some erands. We parked the car and walked them. Nanc said she didn't want to over due it because she has Water Arobics tonight.
Mary thanks for the info on the Chat Room.
Joan have a great time in Panamma City.
I see you are thinking anbout doing the 7 day Eastern in 2009. I would love to do it . Maybe some day I could convince Nanc to do one.
At this time with her Mom and Dad at there age it's day to day. At this time there both doing quit well. We hope when we go on the Cruise in Sept her sister will watch over things. That has been a bit of a problem.
I do know my boys will watch out for them as they do now . They are very good about that.
Time to eat lunch guys. Catch you later.

Has anybody been to Disneyland and California Adventure recently? We're headed out there for the 4th of July and I am looking for places to make reservations for breakfast/brunch and dinner. Can anyone make a reccomendation?

Thanks!

Get to the Disneyland park early, It does fill up! Last year we went on the 4th of July and It was a sea of people from the castle all the way to the train station standing room only for the fireworks.

...Beastly pirate:

Good morning everyone! Happy Wednesday!

Joanne - I realized I never answered you about the cruise. Yes it is a 7 day. We are doing an Eastern this time which I love because of the 3 sea days. This is going to be a very relaxing cruise. It is a much smaller DIS group than we are used to and the meets thread hasn't been too active, but is getting more active now that we are close. We are going with some good friends we met here on the DIS. This is our 4th cruise with them. We got our documents yesterday and we're getting ready. Lots of stuff still to do but we have 3 more weeks.

I second the recommendation on Goofy's kitchen for breakfast/brunch. We loved it.

I do NOT recommend the Blue Bayou in Disneyland (inside Pirates of the Carribean Ride). Granted you can keep the menu and take it to Jack Sparrow in the park to get him to sign. But the food was just so so and way over priced.

There are some nice dinner places in Downtown Disney. We ate at the Mexican one, but I can't remember the name. It was pretty decent.

I like Red Rockets in Tommorrow Land for lunch - pizza, sandwiches and salads.

Good morning all,

Last night went as well as can be expected with our IT dept. Not everything was set up right for the new guy.

Panama City was nice. I walked the beach and then played tourist. The new area call Pier Park is very nice. margartitaville, Ron John's etc. It was packed. A place called five guys hamburger and fries really smelled good, but I stuck with a spinache salad:guilty: Worked until about 1:30am ans still made it here by 8.

My head should hit the desk about 3pm!!

Have a great Wednesday.

Carol and I try to make it to the Blue Bayou each time we go. We love it! Yes, it's a bit pricey, but the service has always been good and it's a nice quiet setting. Of course, we usually go for lunch.

It's certainly not a place I would take kids though. I don't think they'd find anything they liked and you'd be paying quite a bit for something they most likely wouldn't appreciate.

Joanne, we have many Five Guys here in NO VA and their food is really good. The fries are awesome and in their restaurants they have barrels of peanuts for you to eat while you wait. Now if they would get a Sonic here I would be in love.

I will have to try them when I am not in the dieting mode.

What I forgot to tell you- The Disney outlet is having a 75% off everything in the store. I wish I would have know when it started. They were pretty picked over. I did get a few shirts for less than $1.00. The specialty T shirts for the MSSHP were marked doen to 2.99 and then 75% off. I was so thrilled. Bought a 60.00 Christmas sweater for my sister for 15.00.

So if any of you are near an outlet you should check it out. The woman in front of me has tons of pins.

Have a good one!

well I am heading to WDW later today to hear the Nelsons in concert.

All this disneyland talk is tempting me, I am going to LA for a convention this summer and now thinking of sneaking off for a day at DL.

Cheryl have a great time. I am with you on the dl trip. I have to go to a wedding in June. Since I am going alone I thought I would just fly in and out, but a day at DL would be nice. I am not sure about doing it solo though!

Joanne I can't think of a better place to do solo than Disneyland. It is even easier than WDW. I did it a couple of times before Mark and I were married. The cool thing now is that if you stay onsite (the Grand Californian is my favorite) you can walk to Downtown Disney, Disneyland and California Adventure. They really are all so close together. Plus Disneyland is a smaller more intimate park than the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. If you've never done it I highly recommend it.

We went to DL last May. It was our first trip to CA. We stayed at the DisneyLand hotel for one night. Did an exchange with points. Then stayed in Hollywood for biz and back to DL for one more day. The park is amazing. Both Amanda and I kept saying that it was so familiar but so different at the same time. California Adventure is really great also. The parks are so small compared to what we are used to, so it would be really easy to do in just a day or so, depending on the crowds. I would recommend going to the parks on a weekday rather than a weekend. Lots of locals on the weekends. We were there for their food and wine fest. Just remember: you get to walk the park that Walt walked in.

Who will get the next pirate? It will be a biggie!

The weather here today was beautiful! Over 40 and sunny all day. Is spring finally here?

Spring is here also, it was 75 and very humid. It's amazing how fast it changes.

You guys have me thinking I can do DL alone. Once I get to making plane reservations I just might do it!!!

We lived in LA in the mid 80's so we have been there afew times, but it has been a while, wnet to California Adventure 5 years ago, that was a blast.

Plans are to fly to LA then after the wedding up to Sacramento to my sisters for a few days and then back here.

I wish these darn tickets weren't so expensive. We don't have any of the value airlines here. have to go Delta.

Good morning everyone! Happy Thursday!

Joanne I would definately consider a solo trip to Disneyland. I agree with Amanda that if you can make it a weekday it would be best. Lots of annual passholders who come out for the weekend.
