QOTD: Has anyone tried Disney's kitchen sink before? And, to ask something totally crazy, can you pull off the toppings (cookies, candy bars, cake, etc.) and take them home in a doggy bag and just eat the ice cream?? I'd hate to waste it! :rotfl:

We ate it a few ears ago:) I wonder if they will prepare it with those on the side? Otherwise they would get soggy from the sauces and ice cream.

Yeah, I'm starting to accept there may be no good way to avoid wasting the toppings! We may have to wait until the girls are older, so that we have a better chance of finishing it. Depends how hungry we are, I guess!

Having a pigletto moment today. :lmao:

I got an email from Delta saying that our flight times had changed. I went to the Delta site to see the details and it looks like our flight to MCO leaves 5 minutes later but arrives 10 minutes sooner. Cool for me there. The flight back home leaves 5 minutes later and arrives home a full 45 minutes later than we had hoped. The email said we may be able to change our flight for no fee since they changed our times on us.

So I got to thinking about maybe leaving late Friday and then having all of Saturday to hit DTD, one of our WP&M days, etc. I haven't brought it up to my wife or our friend who is going with us yet because I haven't talked to Delta or Disney to see the price differences that may occur, but it was just an idea kicking around in my head while I was bored this afternoon. :scratchin

Awesome! We may have to wander away from Epcot to have one of those. We'll have 3 adults and 2 kids with us so maybe we could make a dent in it. :lmao:

I'm with you Damon. DH just saw the videos and we want to get one as well. Good thing we just went from 4 to 6 people, lol.

Anyone know the cost?

Looking at the Disney website it's $28.99

Wonder if it could be a snack credit on the DDP? :confused3

Omg, I am totally laughing here because I got a similar phone call from AA yesterday. They changed our times too....going is 25 minutes later (7:25am...not a bad thing because I started to think I was a bit over-ambitious leaving at the crack of dawn), but coming home is 40 minutes earlier :(. We will still have a decent part of the day, but then I got to thinking maybe we could stay the night and take the 10:50 am flight home the next day....so while I haven't looked I to it either, just know that great minds think alike ;).

We did last year. There were 4 of us, and we barely put a dent in it! As far as pulling stuff off, I suppose you could but a lot of it would be pretty soggy.

I've been reading about cooling towels on some of the threads and I think they might be worth trying. Amazon.ca has some cooling bandanas which I thought might fit better then getting some of the towels and cutting them up. Anyone used these before? Do they help.
Ok now I have to try not to look at the weather network from now till we get there or I'll be a wreck!:rotfl2:
We are ordering the Frog Toggs. I don't want to melt, or be generally uncomfortable in the heat.
I am so excited to find this thread, we are going August 17 to 23

Ok, I have a dilemma of sorts. I was talking to a friend of mine who lives in the Palm Beach area and mentioned we were going to Disney in August. She said she and her two kids would come up for a few days to meet us. We've done Disney together before and do it really well, so that's not an issue. What is though is that her kids will have started back school, so they will only be able to come the second weekend we are there. That Friday night we have BOG ADRs at 8:15, Saturday we have Kona and Ohana and a cabana at the Poly and Sunday morning DW and I have massages booked. The massages I can move or cancel - that's not a huge issue. The whole resort day on Saturday is harder to switch around (we have 8 day PHs for a 10 day trip, so we do need two non-park days) and to give up BOG :sad1: Sigh....Seeing friends is really more important than a restaurant (I'm not that selfish), but am I wrong to be disappointed if I do give it up? What would you guys do? (and I ask here because you guys get it!).
We all get it, but will your friend? BOG is really hard to get and not just any restaurant. Can you let her down lightly and ask her to come Sunday?
My 40 was last year but I got to celebrate at the MK on it's 40th...in my 40th year!!! :)
I celebrated my 10th at WDW while Disney celebrated it's 10th. It was SOOO cool.

Yeah, I'm starting to think it's not in the cards for us this year. It was probably too ambitious of me to tackle with young kids, but I thought we could eat a pretty good chunk of it. We'll probably play it by ear, then, if we are looking for something to do, rather than plan for it outright. If it doesn't work out for this trip, then at least we'll have something to look forward to for another year!

Just bought my park tickets today from mapleleaftickets.com. Got 5 day tickets for price of 4. We were only going to do 4 so i thought it was cool that we get an extra day!! Reality is setting in. Yay ! 60 days until we head out. I think it is so funny that it seems that I am so much more excited than my kids.

We haven't, but it looks divine. Probably will never give it a whirl when there's only the three of us (dang it, I need more kids!!!) but we do plan to try the sand pail at the waterparks this summer.

We are in the same boat with Connor graduating and going off to school. Maybe we will brave the World a little earlier in August than usual, but who knows.

Does Jake have any idea where he wants to go to school next year?

He is pretty torn on whether he wants to attend our local college (can live at home saving tons of $$$) or whether he wants to go away. I think he'll probably apply to several and leave his options open. His grades are excellent.......right now he has about a 92 average in all university prep courses at high school.....so I am sure he will be accepted at all the places he applies to. He wants to work with young offenders, so I think he's leaning toward working toward his diploma as a Community & Justice Service Worker, then hopefully his degree thereafter.

Just paid of Disney!!! So everything for our trip is paid for except the Hard Rock Hotel which I won't pay for until we stay there (but the money is aside for that so really all paid for)! 77 days until we check in at Disney and 68 days till we check in at Universal!

 :cool1: :dance3: Fantastic!

That pigletto.........she's a baaaaaad influence! ;)

lol, just kidding....pigletto, you inspire us all.....I pulled the switcheroo on Friday for our upcoming Canada Day weekend trip. We had originally planned our night in Toronto followed by a couple of days in Cambridge at the African Lion Safari and Bingemans. After some lengthy discussion with DH we opted to keep our Toronto portion unchanged, but switched our Cambridge plans to two nights and three days at Great Wolf Lodge in Niagara Falls  . The cost is atrocious but as the kids would say....YOLO!

No way! We haven't done the water parks yet, so I hadn't even heard of this before (how is that possible?)! I just looked it up. That is really neat!! :cool1:
