This got me thinking: what neighborhood do most of the cast members reside in? There is nothing but hotel chains and restaurants surrounding the parks, so I imagine it is a long commute even for those who live near WDW. Also, I heard there's this thing call the Disney Cast Bus. Anyone know...

Too much! It costs $25 for every 3-mile distance. The nearest Amtrak station is more than that.

Disneyland has Pinocchio, Alice in Wonderland, Casey Jr. Train, the Submarine ride, The Matterhorn, etc. Magic Kingdom doesn't.

You can also do this by public transportation and it's much cheaper. Take the bus that goes to Osceola Square Mall (don't remember which one, but it's a block west of the train stop), then get off at that stop and take the 56 to the TTC.
