"You've got serious thrill issues, Dude" -- A 1st PTR!!

I am waffling on the DDP again. :confused3 I priced it all out again using the menus from allears.net. I am pretty much breaking even. (I think - I am still not clear on the kids under 3 thing - I know at buffets they're free, but what about CS or TS if I order them a kids meal? I feel like, if they're gonna eat it, I've gotta pay for it?!??) But I could definitely cut some corners, and share some meals with DH. And we definitely don't need desert each meal. I am trying to lose weight for this trip, not come back 10lbs heavier!! :lmao:
So now I am back to not wanting the DDP. Oh, not to mention I just got a Disney Visa card, and it comes with a $200 Disney gift card. So that's food money right there! Sigh... I guess I'll just have to make more changes.

Although... that's nothing compared to the changes that will be coming in my next update!:woohoo::banana::woohoo:

OOO... changes, how mysterious.

I think for CS you do need to buy meals for the boys, or have them eat off your plates. I've heard some CS will let you trade out the dessert for a side, depending on the CM. TS they will also let under three eat off your plate. It is very confusing with whether to get dining, we only got it because our dates were during free dining, so it was a savings for us. Good luck with the decision!

Sooooooo… as some of you may know, Missyrose is one of my close friends. She is the one who got me totally hooked on the DIS, and the only person I know who shares my love of all things Disney. And now, she just so happens to be my own personal Fairy Godmother! :lovestruc

Yesterday afternoon Missy called me. She had gotten one of the oh-so-elusive, and much coveted PINs!! She was so excited. And I was so happy (if not slightly jealous) for her and her DBF :goodvibes And I thought that was the end of it… Then the next thing I knew, she bibbidi bobbidi boo-ed my Disney Trip! pixiedust: She and her DBF were playing with dates and were hovering around Oct so they could do MNSSHP and F&W, and they do love my boys...

She called and asked if I wanted a bit of company and in on the savings! So now she and I are now merging our trips, and our reservations and both getting PIN discounts!! Woohoooo!!:woohoo::banana: Saving money is super exciting for a single income family of four. Haha. Not to mention it was an amazing and very generous thing for her to do for my family and me.

We are still in the talking stage – but we are having a planning lunch on Tuesday to go over everything in MUCH more detail.

Oh and can I just say: I'M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD IN 62 DAYS!!!!! :woohoo:

That is so cool, you will have so much fun,and what an awesome thing to do for a friend!

So Missy and I had a planning meeting today :goodvibes It was awesome! I love talking about Disney!!

First we took the kiddos out to lunch and wore them out, then when we got home I was able to put them down for naps, so we could focus on just one thing: WDW!!

Our new joint plans look like this:
Arrival day: Thursday
Missy and her DBF land at MCO at 10ish AM, then they will get checked in and head to Epcot. Me and my crew land at MCO at 4ish PM, when we get on the ME, I will text Missy, and she will meet us at ASMovies to check us in (the rules with the split PIN) Then all of us will get ready to head to MK for MNSSHP!! We will party til we drop, and then head back to our respective hotels!
Friday: We'll all hit rope drop at DHS and we will do the mad dash for TSM. And when I say "we" I mean my DH and her DBF will run and get FP's, and Missy and I will mosey on over with the boys. Then we will try to ride TSM before the stand-by line gets too long. Then more rides and shows! Then we all have an ADR at Sci-Fi Dine in Theater for lunch. Then we will see what we feel like from there. Possibly we will hop to MK or Epcot.
Saturday: My fam has an ADR at Chef Mickey's at 7am, so we will head there by cab. Then after breakfast, take the monorail to MK hopefully before rd, meet up with Missy and her DBF, do a few rides there, and then when the crowds pick up, hop to AK or Epcot.
Sunday: Rope drop at Epcot, or if we missed rd at MK yesterday, rope drop at MK today? Then in the afternoon, possible pool break at WL with Missy and her DBF, then my family has an ADR at 50's PTC at DHS.
Monday: Missy and her DBF have CP at 8:20am, we have CP at 8:30am or at 10:15am. I have both reserved right now, and I am trying to figure out which to keep. (Don't worry, I will be sure to cancel the one I don't want well in advance!) Then more MK before we head back to MCO. Then we are all on the same flight home! :thumbsup2

So... that's the plan for now... it may change and evolve even more, but isn't that part of the fun?! Missy and I also decided that we will do a joint trip report, so if you're interested in reading how it actually all goes down, you'll be able to! :surfweb:

Everything sounds great! I could never talk my roommate into a breakfast that early, she would kill me. I will totally be reading your trip report, how much fun to do one with a friend!

I'm joining in :yay: Your boys are such cuties. You are very smart to squeeze in a Disney trip before they turn three.:thumbsup2 We are doing the same thing this year. I always laugh when people say they are waiting till that magical age of 3. But hey it is their money.;)

As far as the dining plan, I would not bother with it. We have done it both ways. It used to be a great deal but now it's pretty much break even at best. If you are like us you probably won't even want two desserts. We would rather get one appetizer and maybe one dessert if any at all. Also if you miss a meal, no worries just extra cash in your pocket.:thumbsup2

Hi there! Welcome! :goodvibes Thanks for the compliment about my boys! And yes, I am glad that we are not doing the DDP now. That also allowed me to save even more because then I could get our tickets through Undercover Tourist.
I hope you also have a wonderful trip, I am going to head over and read your PTR right now! :)

Our planning date was so much fun! It's so much fun to have someone to plan the trip with.

Sounds like you had quite the adventurous evening after I left. Having a better day today?

Your trip sounds great! You will LOVE the MNSSHP! We went for the first time last Sept and had such a great time - highlight of our trip. So, we have to go again this Sept! :rotfl2: I'm hoping I can turn this into an annual thing - but DH isn't on board with that yet. :upsidedow

Your boys are adorable! And how exciting that they will wake up on their birthday at WDW! That will be something they will remember...maybe not details of the trip, but being there ON their birthday! Priceless. And what a great friend Missyrose is!

I just have to throw this in -

GO HOKIES!!!

Life is always adventurous with 2 year old twins! But yes, last night was rough. Haha :lmao: Today has been better. I went to the outlet mall for some retail therapy! :goodvibes Now I'm back into Disney planning, so it's all good!!

Hi and welcome!! Thanks for reading along! I am so glad to hear that your family loves MNSSHP. It seems awesome, and I am really looking forward to trying it out!

Thanks for the compliment about my boys! I am so excited to take them to Disney World! I just know they're going to love it.

Missy is an awesome friend! And so is her DBF! He is a wonderful photographer, so selfishly I am glad he will be around to get some good pics of my boys! :rotfl:

And yes, absolutely, GO HOKIES!! :thumbsup2 Do you guys ever make the trip for football games? My DH is already planning which games he wants to go to this season... :rolleyes1

Hello and welcome to my very first PTR! :goodvibes

I will start with introductions:
This is me – Kelley, and my DH – Mike.

We are college sweethearts (GO Hokies!) and have been happily married for 7 years.

These are our sweet twin boys. Jackson and Ryan.

This picture was taken on Mother’s Day when the boys and I participated in the March of Dimes March for Babies to raise money and awareness for babies born premature. That is a cause very close to my heart because my boys were preemies, born at only 30 weeks. Scariest day of my life! Ryan was 3lbs 10oz, and Jackson was 3lbs 6oz. Let me tell you, those were TINY babies - but now, they are healthy, happy, wild 2 year olds! And I can’t help myself, I totally spoil them.:lovestruc

I have been trying to wait patiently to take them to WDW, and Mike and I had a debate about the proper age to take them. He wanted to wait until they were 5. I wanted to take them at 3. We can see who won that… :rotfl:
So onward with the PTR.
:)

Hey!! i love your title for your ptr!! I cant wait to read more. My newphew was really really premature too. He was born at 12 weeks early and weighted like 2lbs and he will be 3 in february!!! Ill have to start working on my ptr now!! So I can join you guys!!:rotfl:

Here is a pictures of me and my boys from yesterday (about an hour before our earthquake :scared1::scared1: ) And yes Missy, I stole it directly from your PTR! :thumbsup2 Her PTR can be seen here.

Missy came over for another lunch and Disney planning date, and she brought everything we needed to make Mousekeeping envelopes! The boys loved picking out the stickers and putting them on the envelopes.

After the crafts were done, I put the boys down for nap. And then about 15 minutes later, the couch started shaking and my chandelier starting wildly swinging around the room. By the time I started getting concerned, it was already over... but still the craziest thing to happen to me in a LOOONG while! The boys however, slept right through the whole thing!

So later that night, I was sharing the plans with DH. And for a man who isn't into planning, he sure has a lot of opinions about my plans!! He of course made some changes. Sunday 10/16 was supposed to be our Epcot day. We were going to do RD at Epcot, then take the boat to DHS for our 50'sPTC lunch ADR, then boat back to Epcot. Well, DH wants to go to RD at AK that day, eat Flame Tree BBQ, and then go to Epcot. So I guess we will be doing that now :rotfl:

Also, I ordered the boys Halloween costumes this morning! Target.com had the best prices, so I went with that. My only concern is that they're currently on back order, so hopefully they'll be stocked soon! As soon as they arrive, I will be all set for MNSSHP! I got Incredibles t-shirts for me and DH, and now I've ordered the boys Dash costumes. Yay! :cheer2:

That's too funny about the kids sleeping through the earthquake! But good to hear that y'all are ok.

Fingers crossed the costumes come in on time... but I'm sure they will. How cute the 4 of you will look!
