You've Got a Friend in Me:TINKGURL & XOKTENOX's Adventures in WDW~UPDATE: 6/9 p.74

We decided we were going to meet in Africa at the Dawa Bar. Chris and I headed that way and ordered a Bud Light lime each…except they didn’t have BL lime so the bartender just gave us regular BL and put some lime juice in it which we actually really loved!

Hey Glenn,

I thought DAWA had a Bud Light Lime. They had to "make it" but it is there. :woohoo:

Ladies love the AK night. Ak is so nice at night. Yak and Yeti look great and the fun you had after dinner can't be beat. Great times with great friends.
I may have to go to Yak and Yeti just to see that waitress from Levittown. I grew up a couple of towns over but it is always great to use the hometown as a conversation starter.

It Sounds like you guys had and awesome night at Ak!! It's going to be sad to see this end shortly!

Kristen- That is awesome Chris lost 25lbs! :goodvibes

Aww, sounds like a fantastic night at AK amongst fabulous friends. Fun rides, good food, great company, and all at Disney, what more could you ask for?

I think you just end up getting the giggles on Primeval Whirl in general. I've been onn it with one of my closest friends and we were laughing hysterically on it from start to finish as well. No idea why, we just did. So I can totally relate to your experience!

Thanks for reading! You're right, AK is so much nicer and cooler at night! It was such a great night for us all!

The night at AK sounds like a blast!

It definitely was! :)

Thanks for reading! We did have fun!

You're right, what more could we ask for?! WDW is just such a magical place.

Glad to know you get the giggles on Primeval Whirl too!

Anyone planning a WDW trip this year and still need to book somewhere to stay? We can't go this summer and we're looking to rent out our DVC points from this year. Please message me if you're interested!

so glad you all had such a great time at AK together! We just got in at 1am this morning from our trip and it was everything I hoped it would be and more (except longer of course) ;)

Can't wait to hear how the rest of your trip went :)

Cute pictures of you guys! and your food looks delicious! This is definitely on my future- must try- list. But not this time ( in May) because my dad is too picky!

I know how it feels to have such a close friend so far away- my best friend has lived in FL for the past like 4 years- and I only see her about twice a year.. it really stinks!

I love the night pictures! Being at the parks at night with everything all pretty and all the bright pretty lights- it gives it a special magical touch!

So this was it…our last full day…I was NOT happy! But, I tried not to think of it and let it ruin my mood. We had a packed day ahead and I didn’t want to be upset for it! I don’t know if any of you remember but several days before Chris and I were planning on going to Typhoon Lagoon but, since we weren’t feeling well, we decided against it. Well, since today we were feeling 100% better, we decided to go! On our first trip in April 2009 we purchased the Water Park Fun and More option on our tickets and then added no expiration to them when we left. So we haven’t paid to go into a water park or DisneyQuest since then. It was definitely a great investment!

We woke up fairly early, changed into our bathing suits and headed down to have some breakfast in the Pop food court. Chris got some kind of eggs, meat and cheese wrap and I got a big Pop waffle. Then we got an apple turnover to share. Hey, it’s vacation still, right? Haha

The food was good! People bash the value food courts for subpar food and overcrowding but honestly, we’ve never experienced either staying at Pop or All Star Movies. It’s certainly not gormet but the food is tasty and we’ve never had a problem finding a seat to sit and eat. By 8:30, we were done eating and 5 minutes later, we made it on a bus headed to Typhoon Lagoon! My camera isn’t waterproof and I didn’t purchase a waterproof disposable camera so there are no pictures for the next part. To keep you all interested, I’ll keep our TL experience brief lol

TL opened at 9:00 and we got there about 10 minutes before they opened. We got a locker and threw all our things in there, sprayed each other with sunscreen and then waited for the park to open. I’d been to TL once before, when I was 11. I remember I wasn’t too fond of it then but I always had loved BB. Since people on the DISboards (that I’ve seen anyway) generally say TL is better than BB, I was hoping I’d like TL more this time than I did when I was younger. When we were allowed to go in, Chris and I headed right for what I’d heard were the best slides, Crush n Gusher. It’s actually 3 different slides over there. Chris and I grabbed tubes and went right up to ride one of them. Since the line was short once we got down, we ran up again and tried another slide. They were really fun! We didn’t wait at all for them so it was nice to get 2 fun slides done quickly.

After CnG, we did Keehaul Falls, Mayday Falls, Humunga Kowabunga and Gangplank Falls. They were all either body slides, tube slides and one family ride which we went on with a father and his son. All the slides were really fun but with the lines starting to build a little more, there was nothing we really wanted to HIKE to the top to wait on line to ride again. It was seriously only 10:00 at this point. We had ridden every slide in the park in 1 hour!! We weren’t ready to leave yet so we grabbed some tubes and hit the Lazy River and once we went around once, we got out and hit up the wave pool. TL actually has a reeeeally great wave pool with HUGE waves. The only problem was that there were people who were riding the waves like professional swimmers. So, when the wave would come and Chris and I would just be trying to jump over it or something, we had people flying at us super fast and potentially hitting us lol So, that got old pretty fast.

When we were done at the wave pool, we decided to head over to Crush n Gusher again. We barely waited once again to ride the last remaining slide. I think it was still only like 10:40 at this point! We headed over and grabbed some frozen lemonades and went and found a bench in a lunch area to eat. There were massive amounts of birds over here and I was freaking out and sitting with my feet up on the bench! Needless to say, I was in a rush to finish eating and leave that area! So now it was 11:15 and we were done with TL. Just over two hours and we had finished the whole park. And to be honest, I still feel the same way about the park as I did when I was 11…it’s just eh. We both definitely prefer BB!

We hopped on a bus back to Pop and spent some time at the pool there. We also had a few packages at the gift shop that we’d had sent back from the parks over the week that we went and picked up. Unfortunately after a while, we had to go back to the room and pack. Chris is all about packing early so we don’t have to worry about it after we get back to the room late at night or the next morning. So we watched some Disney Channel while we packed up our things. Obviously I was so sad at this point! But again, I still was trying to hold it in so I didn’t ruin our last night. We relaxed some more and finally decided to hop in the shower to get cleaned up for our evening. I was excited to spend our last night in Epcot and see Tink and her DF again since they were going to meet up with us later. I was NOT looking forward to saying goodbye to them though.

Up Next: Our last night in Epcot!

I hate the last day blues! Its always so sad knowing you'll have to leave the next day. I still havent gotten to the water parks but i have a feeling i'll enjoy Blizzard Beach more than Typhoon Lagoon because of the theme. It's crazy you finished everything so fast, i just went to six flags and the same thing happened, we hit all the roller coasters in the first two hours cuz of no lines and then were like what now? lol i'm looking forward to reading the conclusion of the trip, even though i am sure it will be sad! =[

Ahh, the last day has hit you hard. I hope that your last evening at EPCOT was every bit as fun as the rest of the trip had been!

I can't believe you only spent 3 hours at the water park! I dunno, I"ve never been to one, but aren't they places that you'd want to spend the whole day at?? Just laying in the sun, riding the Lazy Rivers, reading?? Kristin, was it boring?? If you could tell me more, it'd help me know if the water parks are something I should keep in my want-to-do list or not.

NOOO! It's your last full day already?! :( Those days are the worst because it's like you try your best to have so much fun and enjoy the last moments, but the thought of knowing you'll be leaving soon is always in the back of your head.

I've never done a Disney water park, but I'll take your advice and give BB a try first when we finally decide to try one! LOL!

.... 36 days~!

It was so hard knowing we had to leave the next day! I'd definitely recommend BB over TL! I cannot believe you finished Six Flags that fast! Usually the lines are so long that they're unbearable, hence the reason I haven't been back there in 3 years. When did you go? I love it there because I'm a thrill ride junkie but we stopped going when the lines got so out of control. I'd love to be able to go back!

It hit me so hard, Liesa! Idk, maybe I'm just not the type to spend the whole day there? I'll tell you that we definitely spend more time at BB! We love BB and TL I guess just wasn't our thing. We live near one of the best water parks in the country (Splish Splash, so cool) so maybe we compare other water parks to that? I know I won't be going back to TL anytime soon but we're going to BB again in June. If I were going to recommend something to you, I'd say hit up BB first :thumbsup2

It was so sad on our last day. I wanted to be happy but I couldn't help but keep thinking that we'd be heading home the next day and getting sad about it! Definitely do BB over TL! Although if I remember correctly, TL does have a cool area for the little ones! Ahhhhh 35 days now for me!!! :cheer2: I hope Kimmy starts our PTR this weekend!

I just realized I do have pics of our breakfast at Pop food court that I forgot to put in there. I don't have time to do it now but check back later if you're interested :thumbsup2

Surely you have no doubts that we ARE interested in seeing pictures of your Pop breakfast.

I have not been to a waterpark yet, but the boys have. They both seem to like Typhoon Lagoon better. I'm sure my first experience will be at whichever one Brooklynn decides she likes best from pictures.

The dread of the last day is something like what I feel on Sunday nights as Monday mornings draw near. The best thing to do to fight off being sad at leaving Disney World is, of course, get right on planning the next trip. :tigger:

I love the Pop food court! We've honestly never had a bad meal there and I just love the whole atmosphere.

I've never been to either of the Disney water parks, it's usually way too cold when we go. There is a water park up in New Hampshire, like an hour or so away from where I live so every year my B/F's mother organizes a trip up there with a ton of people for the day. I get my water park fix once a year

So sad it's your last day. I hate the feeling of knowing it's your last full day :( I always try not to be sad but fail horribly. I'm really excited for you going back so soon, though!

Well, I'd have to find a Dogfish Head first to make sure my palate was ready. :crazy2:

I guess it must have been Dan who would order the Bud Light with Lime? :confused3

I have spent the day at BB and then again i have only spent a couple of hours sometimes. I guess it depends on my mood, the weather and ow much I get done. While I like the waterparks, sometimes I just can't be there if I know the parks are calling. :rolleyes1

We LOVE the Pop food court! We have never encountered long lines there and we've always opted to sit outside or in our room. Back in September, I don't think Maddie and I stepped a single foot in the food court until our last day. Tony always went to get us breakfast! There was only one day he said was bad and that was because it was later in the morning. He was usually there quite early.

I haven't been to TL since I was about 15 years old. I don't really remember a whole lot about it, but I loved the wave pool. We went to BB in 2006 and absolutely LOVED it! Madison was only 3 1/2 but she loved the little kiddie area.

The only water park I've ever been to is Wet 'n Wild in Orlando. Blizzard Beach looks so much fun. TL doesn't appeal to me as much. I should check out Splish Splash since it's in NY and I think there's a bus package that runs out of NYC. I'll have to look into it :thumbsup2
