You've Got a Friend in Me:TINKGURL & XOKTENOX's Adventures in WDW~UPDATE: 6/9 p.74

It was so hard knowing we had to leave the next day! I'd definitely recommend BB over TL! I cannot believe you finished Six Flags that fast! Usually the lines are so long that they're unbearable, hence the reason I haven't been back there in 3 years. When did you go? I love it there because I'm a thrill ride junkie but we stopped going when the lines got so out of control. I'd love to be able to go back!

yeah i couldnt believe it either! I went the week of spring break on april 19th..it was kinda gross out..really cloudy and it was supposed to rain by 3 but it only really drizzled so i think thats why it was so empty..there were literally no lines! it was great! yeah, i love roller coasters and we hit them all so quickly it was crazy lol

Surely you have no doubts that we ARE interested in seeing pictures of your Pop breakfast.

I have not been to a waterpark yet, but the boys have. They both seem to like Typhoon Lagoon better. I'm sure my first experience will be at whichever one Brooklynn decides she likes best from pictures.

The dread of the last day is something like what I feel on Sunday nights as Monday mornings draw near. The best thing to do to fight off being sad at leaving Disney World is, of course, get right on planning the next trip. :tigger:

Ok, I added the breakfast pictures lol I'm not sure what it is about TL that I don't really care for. It was a lot of fun, I guess we just prefer BB.

Oh I completely know the Sunday night feeling, too. Unfortunately, I don't know when I will actually ENJOY Sunday nights. Probably when I get a big girl teaching job :thumbsup2

I love the Pop food court! We've honestly never had a bad meal there and I just love the whole atmosphere.

I've never been to either of the Disney water parks, it's usually way too cold when we go. There is a water park up in New Hampshire, like an hour or so away from where I live so every year my B/F's mother organizes a trip up there with a ton of people for the day. I get my water park fix once a year

So sad it's your last day. I hate the feeling of knowing it's your last full day :( I always try not to be sad but fail horribly. I'm really excited for you going back so soon, though!

The Pop food court was great, including the atmosphere! If you go to WDW when it's warmer out I'd definitely recommend the water parks. The themeing is just as awesome as in the regular parks! The water park in NH sounds like fun!

32 days until we're back!!!

I have spent the day at BB and then again i have only spent a couple of hours sometimes. I guess it depends on my mood, the weather and ow much I get done. While I like the waterparks, sometimes I just can't be there if I know the parks are calling. :rolleyes1

I know what you mean about spending time in the water parks when you know the other parks are just minutes from your reach

We LOVE the Pop food court! We have never encountered long lines there and we've always opted to sit outside or in our room. Back in September, I don't think Maddie and I stepped a single foot in the food court until our last day. Tony always went to get us breakfast! There was only one day he said was bad and that was because it was later in the morning. He was usually there quite early.

I haven't been to TL since I was about 15 years old. I don't really remember a whole lot about it, but I loved the wave pool. We went to BB in 2006 and absolutely LOVED it! Madison was only 3 1/2 but she loved the little kiddie area.

Meghan! How are you feeling? You're so close!! :goodvibes

The Pop food court was just yummy and the atmosphere was so happy! BB is our favorite!

The only water park I've ever been to is Wet 'n Wild in Orlando. Blizzard Beach looks so much fun. TL doesn't appeal to me as much. I should check out Splish Splash since it's in NY and I think there's a bus package that runs out of NYC. I'll have to look into it :thumbsup2

I'd definitely take a trip out to Splish Splash! I think the lines get a little long sometimes but there are soooo many rides and they're so fun. They're like water thrills rides lol I have to admit that I like SS more than either of the WDW water parks!

yeah i couldnt believe it either!

Ohhhh, ok. I might try and get there this year for Fright Fest. We used to have so much fun there! It's probably a better idea to go when it's gonna rain though!

I also agree about the food court at Pop and ASMovies.. I haven't had a bad experience yet.

The waffle looks yummmy! I'm excited to try ASMov food again!

I always get said the day before I am leaving too.. its like I'm having fun but in the back of my mind I know its almost over and it makes me sad. I totally hate packing up to leave- I always do it either the morning before out last day- or the night before. I don't like doing it the morning of because I'm to worried to get to the parks for our last little bit of time.

I'm glad that you like BB better then TL because we are probably going to BB for our waterpark day.. they want to go there for the thrill rides.. supposedly there are more at BB. I'm not really into them, but I'm excited to go.

Also, I PMed you Kristen!

Aww, I hate last days. :sad2: I am the same way, you really want to enjoy yourself since you're still on vacation but it stinks knowing it's going to be over soon. Atleast you're going back in about a month or so!

We've never really had issues with food courts/resort foods either. I think some people expect too much sometimes. LOL.

Happy May everyone! I just want to let you know that a joint PTR has been started for our June trip with Princess_Momma and lauren_elizabeth (Kimmy and Lauren)! The link is in my signature but here it is as well

Hope to see you all over there! Only 32 days!! :yay:

July 27, 2010 *tinkgurl's day*

We woke up around 8:15. Fiancé and I ate a quick breakfast, got ready, and headed out the door while Mom, Dad, and Sis were still waking up and getting ready. Our park for the day: Epcot! We were so excited to go back to this park because on our Spring Break trip, we actually took the time to relax around World Showcase and try some of the different drinks! Our favorites? Grey Goose Slushie in France and Oktoberfest in Germany!

It was such a beautiful day as we walked in:

443-1.jpg

We were on a mission- TT FP’s! So that way we went.

444-1.jpg

The return time was for 1-2 pm. Perfect!

445-1.jpg

With FP’s in hand, we could relax. We decided to head back to the front and do SE. As we walked that way, the Tron monorail went by:

446-1.jpg

447-1.jpg

As we made it to the line, we saw that it was already weaving pretty good outside! That was alright though, we just spend the time talking about how much fun we had at Epcot over Spring Break, and how we wanted to come back for the Flower and Garden Festival again.

In line..

448-1.jpg

We waited about 25 minutes until we were heading inside to the loading area.

449-1.jpg

Of course, we had fun watching our “future” on our way back. As we exited back out to the park, I texted Sis to see where they were. They were waiting for a bus to head to us, so we still had some time before they got there. We decided to walk through WS some.

451-1.jpg

As we headed that way, I had to take a pic of where the dolphins were for the Flower and Garden Festival:

450-1.jpg

First country: Mexico! They were doing construction on the new restaurant..

452-1.jpg

I told Fiancé what they were doing and he asked how I knew that, and I said, “The DIS of course!” and we both laughed.

There was hardly anyone in WS yet!

453.jpg

I thought it was crazy how well you can see the Swan & Dolphin!

454.jpg

Ahh..Germany! We’ll be back for beer later!

455-1.jpg

We made it to Morocco when I got the text that Mom, Dad, and Sis were pulling in to Epcot.

456-1.jpg

So, we turned back around and told them to meet us in Mexico. They were going to stop and get Mom and Sis FP’s at TT then meet us. When we found them, we all headed in to ride what we call “the Mexico ride”. haha! When we got off, we decided to have our first drinks since it was after noon by this point. Dad and Fiancé wanted to try some beer from Norway, so while Mom and I got margaritas in Mexico and they went to Norway, Sis went to Norway to find us a table to sit at. She found us the perfect spot. Our views from the table:

459.jpg

458-1.jpg

Mom and Sis:

457-1.jpg

Me and Fiancé:

461-1.jpg

While we were here, we had one of those random moments that we’ll remember forever. We’re sitting there enjoying our drinks when this CM who was walking around picking up trash comes up to us. He starts lecturing us about how we shouldn’t be drinking alcohol on such a hot day and how much water we should be drinking a day…and went on..and on..and on…I know he meant well, but it was just so funny and random! We were like, “Oh yeah..don’t worry, we always have water with us.” Which is true; we are WDW pro’s for summertime!

After we finished our drinks, we headed to what we call “the Norway ride”, which was a walk on!

463-1.jpg

464-1.jpg

I love finding the Hidden Mickey in the mural at the loading area!

465.jpg

By the time we got off, it was time for Fiancé and I to use our FP’s. While we did TT, Mom, Dad, and Sis checked out MouseGears, then headed over to get us a table at Sunshine Seasons for a late lunch.

**Continued in next post**

**Continued from previous**

TT is one of Fiancé’s favorite rides, so he was excited to be back. I love finding the Hidden Mickey’s in this line!:

466-1.jpg

467-1.jpg

468-1.jpg

I think Fiancé always has a grin on his face the entire ride. It’s always fun to watch. Of course, we had to take our time checking out the cars once we got off…

469-1.jpg

Then, we headed to meet back up with Mom, Dad, and Sis at Sunshine Seasons. Even though it wasn’t the normal lunch time, it was still packed. But, we found them right away. They had just gotten their food, so Fiancé and I went to get ours. Of course, I had to have sushi. I could eat sushi every day! While we ate, we told Mom, Dad, and Sis about the quotes on the walls in the Living with the Land queue. There’s actually one from our area!! So, we decided to do that after we were done. Of course, it was a walk on. I have never seen that line long. And it makes me sad how many people skip it. I can see why some people think it’s boring, but we think it’s neat and reminds us of home.

After we got off, we walked by Soarin’ just to see how long the wait was- it was 120 minutes! Yikes. That’s the only bad part about coming in the summer; all the big attractions always have long lines.

We decided it was time for another drink- Grey Goose Slushies! So off to France we went. By the time we made it there, we were all exhausted and HOT. It was crazy hot that day. We found some shade and practically chugged our drinks. The ice cold tasted and felt good. By the time we finished those, it was time for Mom and Sis to use their TT FP’s for 3:15-4:15. So, while they headed there, Dad, Fiancé, and I headed to Germany for some Oktoberfest! I found us a table inside thankfully. I told Dad how much Kristen and Chris like eating at Biergarten, so we decided that we were going to have to check it out the next trip. We drank some, then took them with us while we walked to China to check out the Tomb thing there. I apologize I can’t remember the name of it right now. But first, we had to wait for the bridge to come back down so we could get there! They were getting stuff set up for Illuminations.

As we were finishing up in China, Sis texted me that they were done. We decided to meet them in MouseGears since we were leaving Epcot. It was getting close to our ADR at The Wave at the Contemporary, and we wanted to hang out there before. We were really missing it. So, to the monorail we headed:

471-1.jpg

We got off at the TTC, then hopped on the Resort monorail. As we got off at the Contemporary, I immediately got that “smell”. I think the different places have different smells, so when I smell the “Contemporary smell”, it always brings back memories to me. This time, it was that whole first week with the rest of the family. We headed to the Outer Rim to sit and have some drinks. As we made it down to the Concourse Level, we looked up and found our rooms. Our “area” at the Outer Rim from the week before was open, so we sat there. Here was our view, which reminded us of looking out on our balcony:

472-1.jpg

The pool where Fiancé and Little Guy went down the slide 1,000 times:

473-1.jpg

I had to go to the bathroom, and as I walked back to the Outer Rim, I looked over at the Contempo Café. Bad idea. I immediately thought of all our lunches there, and our last meal there the night before they left. I sat down and cried. They all asked me what was wrong. I told them how much I was missing Little Guy, and how I wished that their part of the trip hadn’t gone by so fast. Then Mom started crying. Haha.

After we recovered, we headed downstairs to The Wave. Fiancé and I were so excited to show Mom, Dad, and Sis here since they hadn’t been there yet. As we walked down into the restaurant, we did the wave, haha.

akdisney439.jpg

They could not believe that was the same place that the food court and arcade used to be. Here was our view from the table:

akdisney442.jpg

I apologize, but I can’t remember what we all got. But, I do remember everyone loved their meals. Our waiter saw Fiancé and I’s “Just Engaged” buttons and Sis’s “Birthday” button, and we got free desserts! We both got this:

akdisney444.jpg

It was GOOD!

When we were done eating and stuffed, we headed back up to the monorail. Mom, Dad, and Sis were heading to the MK, while Fiancé and I were heading to Epcot to meet up with Kristen and Chris.

~Up next: Our Epcot night..and sad goodbyes.

Meghan! How are you feeling? You're so close!! :goodvibes

The Pop food court was just yummy and the atmosphere was so happy! BB is our favorite!

I'm feeling really good; just very uncomfortable. I have less than 4 weeks left now!!!

Sushi sounds yummy.. and that food looks delicious.. maybe I'm just really hungry :p

I really want to eat at The Wave someday.. maybe the next trip.

I love your light blue tank top! Where do you get such cute disney clothes? I love all the small touches of Disney in them!

The Norway ride, the Mexico ride...we call them that, too! And, I also love sushi, I could seriously eat it every day.

I've never noticed that Mickey koosh ball in TT!!! That's so cute!

So funny/strange about that CM coming up and lecturing you about the alcohol and drinking enough water! haha I'm pretty sure anyone going to Disney World in July would know to drink tons of water and stay hydrated...I think that's pretty much a given at any time during the summer. :confused3 If only he knew how many times you guys have been in the summer!

I'm seriously going to need tissues for that next update...:sad1:

Sushi is good!!

You'll have to try The Wave. It's really good!

haha, Thanks! I actually got that Tink tank at the MK a few years back!

The Norway ride, the Mexico ride...we call them that, too! And, I also love sushi, I could seriously eat it every day.

Yes, you love sushi! :thumbsup2 And yes! You call it those too!

Yes you will need kleenex! I think Kristen and I will too!

I would like to buy a POP waffle iron. :hippie:

You should!!

Funny about that CM who was the alcohol police. :confused3 Strange, and yet kinda like you say, memorable.

I love sushi too! Good choice!

Those HMs on TT ARE fun to find. And there are quite a few of them. I think the one on the mural at Maelstrom was one of the first ones I looked for in 2008.

Great update, Tink. I hope you can take the LIttle Guy back again soon.

 Yes, Liesa, it was strange but memorable!

You love sushi too?! Awesome! :thumbsup2

I love finding Hidden Mickey's! I have a few versions of the Hidden Mickey book they sell.

I hope I can take him back again too! He keeps asking when we're going back.

I'm all caught up now. I just realized that you guys started this TR on the same day that my son was born. He's nine months old today... :lmao:

It's been great to read about both of your journeys. I'm so glad that you had the chance to just hang out together a few times. I am sure that your last night in Epcot was difficult and that there were a few tears shed. I'm always amazed at how my "happy place" can make me cry. Usually tears of joy but then the moments when you realize that all that you've been planning for months is coming to an end, augh, that feeling sucks. :sad1:

I have found that I always feel better if I am able to get DH to commit to a date for our next trip. Even if we change our minds once we get home, knowing that we'll be back helps ease the pain into reality. :rotfl:

OH, and Kristen...CONGRATULATIONS on the engagement! :yay:

Just read that latest entry. I find that I haven't been on the Dis as much now that we currently don't have another trip scheduled/booked. Although I did try to finagle something to DH by mentioning your family's DVC points. ;)

I think the blue Tink tank is so cute! It's like a subtle Disney shirt that is not too in your face. Mine always have a character blatantly on the front.

Love your Epcot pics. Makes me want to be back there. Love WS, too!

July 27 continued:

Apparently taking trip notes became too big of a pain at this point because there are no more lol so I’m going off of pictures and memory now! I think we left off after Chris and I had spent the morning at TL and then spent some time at the Pop pool. We went back to our room to shower up for the evening ahead, our last night in WDW. Once we were ready, we headed out. We had some big, delicious plans before we went over to Epcot.

701.jpg

We I’m pretty sure we jumped on a bus to Epcot and then on a boat and headed this way

702.jpg

703.jpg

704.jpg

705.jpg

We were headed to the Beach Club to check out Beaches and Cream! I think it was around 4:00 and our dinner ADR wasn’t until 7:45ish and we were hungry. So we figured we’d share some food at B&C to hold us over. Walking over to B&C it felt like we were on the surface of the sun! Then, just when we could see it, we had to walk allllll the way around since the pool police don’t let you into SAB unless you’re staying at the BC. Chris and I were just in awe of the BC resort and really hope to stay there one day! When we got there, we checked in and were handed a buzzer. I think they told us about 20-30 mins wait. Does anyone know what’s right next to B&C? If you said an arcade, you’re right. Chris wanted to go be 6 again and play some games and I was just interested in getting out of the heat. So, we went in and bought a card with points on it and Chris and I played a couple of racing games against each other. Sooner than expected, our buzzer went off! Chris was in the middle of a game so I left go to check us in. I didn’t want to lose our spot so I had them seat me up at the counter and had Chris meet me inside. It’s so cute in there!!

706.jpg

707.jpg

Like I said, we didn’t want anything too heavy so we split a turkey sandwich.

709.jpg

Chris drew this
710.jpg

I knew I liked him for a reason  lol Since we couldn’t go to B&C without getting ice cream, we agreed on this

711.jpg

A No Way Jose! Yummmmm, seriously so good and there was NO way we were gonna finish it all. We ate what we could, settled the bill and headed out to the secret entrance to Epcot! Another reason we can’t wait to one day stay at an Epcot resort!

712.jpg

713.jpg

714.jpg

715.jpg

716.jpg

717.jpg

When we made it into Epcot we needed some AC! So we headed right into the first store to our left. I picked out a picture frame here and since it was our last night, had it sent to the front of the park instead of to our room like we’d been doing all week. I think we decided to head over towards the UK now for some reason. On the way over, we ran into a PP photographer who took our picture with the Eiffel Tower in the background. It came out nice and I actually did order it.

718.jpg

We wanted to start our drinking around the world escapade so we kept walking and stopped at the stand outside of the Rose and Crown and each got a Stella. We found out we really love this beer! Then, we walked through some shops when we realized one of our favorite WS acts were performing…The British Invasion!
719.jpg

We’re both sooooo sad that they’re not playing in Epcot anymore! But, we are looking forward to checking out the new act.

Enjoying our beers
720.jpg

721.jpg

I was getting a little antsy so I walked through the shop that was right near where we were standing while Chris stayed and watched more.

723.jpg

724.jpg

Once the BI were done, we walked through the other shops in the UK.

725.jpg

For whatever reason I don’t have a picture of this but I’m SURE we then kept walking back through to France again and I got a Grey Goose slushie. We also stopped in the perfume shop here and were talked into buying some delicious smelling Givenchy perfume and cologne. We also had these sent up to the front of the park.

We kept walking and eventually ran into these guys about to start playing

726.jpg

Then we wanted to try a drink from Morrocco so Chris just got a beer but I got a Sultan’s Colada…OMGGGG so disgusting!!! I really took a sip and spit it out it was so nasty. I let Chris have a sip and he did the same. Goodbye $10, that drink got thrown right in the garbage!! ICK!

Next up
727.jpg

728.jpg

733.jpg

We saw a big group huddled around the front of the Mitsukoshi store and I knew that could only mean one thing

729.jpg

730.jpg

731.jpg

732.jpg

So cool! We’d never seen her before and she’s just amazing! Then, we went into the store there and I decided to pick a pearl! I wanted to pick two so I could give one to my mom. Finally, it was my turn! I gave Chris the camera to document.

734.jpg

735.jpg

Number 1

739.jpg

Number 2
740.jpg

Twins! Yay! I’d never even watched anyone pick pearls before and this was so cool!

She measured them
741.jpg

And created a Mickey
742.jpg

It was a really cool experience and I look forward to doing it with my own daughter one day in the far future lol

We still had time to kill before dinner and we heard a concert going on over in the American Gardens Theater so we went there. It was Beginnings, a Chicago cover band.

743.jpg

744.jpg

745.jpg

746.jpg

We really enjoyed both concerts we watched, but 2U was better. We’re really upset that we’re missing the Flower Power concerts by a few weekends and then missing the start of the Sounds Like Summer concerts this trip.

We left off finishing up our dinner at The Wave. Fiancé and I were now on the monorail headed to Epcot to meet up with “Kris and Chris” while Mom, Dad, and Sis were on the monorail headed to the MK for the night. I don’t know everything they did, but they did ride the train first thing!:

akdisney445.jpg

It was getting close to dinner time we walked alllll the way back over to the UK to check in at the Rose and Crown! We had a bit of a wait and we told them we would wait even longer if we could sit outside but they said they weren’t taking any requests this night. We were bummed but we lived.

747.jpg

Shortly, we were called in. We were seated in the back of the restaurant where we could see the lagoon perfectly however, our waiter told us we could go stand outside in the roped off area for R&C patrons and that Tink and her DF could join us back there! We looked over the menu. I got this soup which was potato leek I think and reminded me a lot of the delicious soup from Biergarten.

748.jpg

Chris got this thing which I think is called a Scottish Egg

749.jpg

750.jpg

And we got bread
751.jpg

We enjoyed our appetizers and I took some picture of the restaurant which I really liked the ambiance

752.jpg

753.jpg

754.jpg

Soon, it was time for our entrees. Chris got the sheppard’s pie and I got the fish basket.

755.jpg

756.jpg

The whole way to Epcot, I was texting Kristen to let her know where we were. We were on a mission to hurry to Rose & Crown to get in to the Illuminations viewing area with them since their waiter was AWESOME enough to let us. I think we powerwalked the whole way there! Haha! I texted Kristen when we were outside Rose & Crown.

As we were finishing up, Tink was texting me that they were on their way to meet us. We ordered dessert and I have no pictures of our food but I remember we both hated it lol

They were finishing up their meal and she came out to say hi real quick while they were waiting for the bill. She went back in and texted me a few minutes later to come to their table. We made our way past the bar and back to the dining area. We sat and talked for a few minutes, then their waiter came to take us to the Illuminations viewing area. It was packed already, so we were in the back. Kristen and I had to move back and forth to see past other people’s heads the whole time. Haha! Once the show started, I couldn’t help but smile. Kristen and I had spent so many months listening to DIS radio together, which the Illuminations music plays often. It was fun to finally actually be there together. I know Kristen tried to get some good pics, so I’ll let her share those.

764.jpg

After the show was over, we decided to take our time walking through WS. Our first stop? Grey Goose Slushies in France of course! With our drinks in hand, we found some benches to sit on. We sat there, talked, and enjoyed our drinks. It was hard to believe it was already time for Kristen and Chris to leave. The week went by WAY too fast!

The week went WAYYYY too quickly!!

After we finished our drinks, we made our way to Italy so Kristen could buy a shirt there for someone back home. There were maybe two different ones to choose from and we all liked the same one!

With the shirt bought, we headed through the rest of WS. We stopped in China to use the restroom. As Kristen and I walked back out to meet the guys, I started to get really sad. I was fighting back tears by this time.

Here’s some picture of our walk through the WS
765.jpg

766.jpg

767.jpg

768.jpg

769.jpg

Since it was getting late, we headed towards the exit. Kristen and Chris needed to stop in Guest Relations first, so we headed that way with them. I let her tell the story of our joyous time sitting in there forever! But in reality, I didn’t mind it taking so long. It was more time with them before we had to say good-bye.

Oh jeez, we ended up sitting in GR forever because only one of our packages that we had sent to the front of the park had made it there yet! We still needed our perfume and cologne! But, as Tink said, it didn’t bother me because it was pushing back our inevitable goodbye.

When we headed out of there and towards the bus stops, I could feel the tears coming again. We stopped by the signs since our bus stops were in different directions. We stood there for a few minutes, procrastinating actually saying good-bye. Then, we decided we really needed to. Kristen and I hugged like 3 or 4 times. Then she hugged Fiancé while I hugged Chris. Then her and I hugged again. Then, we went our separate ways. And that’s when I started crying hard. It was so hard leaving my best friend after only a week together. It was seriously the best trip ever for us. Having them there with my family..with my grandparents, Uncle, and Little Guy..at my favorite place in the world. It was one of those times that I wish time would stand still for a little bit. Just so we could enjoy that week even more. After talking every day on the phone, it was so nice to finally be in person. And now we were going to have to go back to the phone. When we made it to our bus stop and got in line, I texted Kristen. She was doing the same thing I was. And even though she was only a few bus stops away, it felt like she was already miles away like back at home. When our bus came, I just laid my head on Fiancé’s shoulder and cried the rest of the way to OKW. Needless to say, I was worn out and tired by this point. We headed straight to bed when we got back to the room.

I still can remember this night so vividly and standing at the point where we finally needed to say goodbye and split up for good. I’m going to cry right now typing this. I miss them all so much. It was a perfect trip and one I love reliving. Like Tink, we walked way after our many hugs (she’s so little I felt like I was going to break her lol) and just started crying. The fact that I just said goodbye to my best friend and the fact that it was our last night in WDW had finally caused me to crack. I cried the whole bus ride back to Pop and Chris just hugged me and rubbed my arm. That’s when he promised me we’d come back again this summer. It didn’t make it better but I guess it helped. We still haven’t gotten to see Tink and her family again though. Phone is the best we can do and it stinks!!

A quick bus ride later and we were back at Pop for our last night’s sleep in WDW.
