You've Got a Friend in Me:TINKGURL & XOKTENOX's Adventures in WDW~UPDATE: 6/9 p.74

Wowww! Congratulations Kristen! that is amazing!

Is that both your weddings in 2012? you's will have a great time planning together...maybe a joint wedding journal? :cutie:

Tink, thats how I get before Everest too, its just one of the most amazing rides ever!:cloud9:

Enjoyed reading about your DTD morning/afternoon, do you know is Mickey's pantry closed for good I have been going on and on to my nana how it was going to be her favourite store! she loves cooking and having nice utensils etc!:sad1:

tinkgurl....i know its amazing to see wdw through the little ones eyes! Except for in our case Caleb was 16 months old when we went so he slept most of the time! LOL! We also went as a big family trip for my sons and my nephew's (3.5yrs at the time) trip. I thought my nephew would love Its a small world...but he kept on wondering how I was steering the boat...he obsesed about it soo much that I think he missed most of the ride! LOL! He would pick out the wierdest things when we would be looking at the bigger picture! LOL!

We are hoping to go back Nov 2012. Caleb will just be a little over 4 yrs by then so he will be the perfect age for most things! And he loves his Gickey Mouse! LOL!

Aw, it will be so much fun for you to get back with Caleb! That will be the perfect age!

Yep, both our weddings are in 2012! Mine in August and her's in October! We'll be busy next year, but we're both excited to be planning together!

When I saw the news that Kristen and Chris were engaged and getting married next year I kind of thought I remembered reading that your wedding was next year, too, then I wasn't entirely sure. That is so exciting! I just realized that two weddings a couple of months apart means that you'll get to see each other twice in that short amount of time, too. I'm seriously so excited for you both!

What an awesome TR you guys! I stumbled upon this yesterday around supper time and I've only just got through it now. :surfweb:  I love the pics you've taken, and hearing about little guy's first adventures in WDW. :goodvibes It was also really nice to see the resorts you've been staying at. It makes me even more anxious for my trip in May/June :cool1: It's also been fun seeing the pixie dust that the CM's waved over you folks. :wizard: I've also recently gotten engaged, so this trip I'll have the "just engaged" buttons, and it was neat to see the special things they do for people. (Congrats on the engagement, btw!:)) Can't wait to hear about the rest of your vacation! :thumbsup2

Welcome!! Congrats on our engagement! :)

July 26, 2010 *continued*

Back to Kristen and Chris: Sooo, when we last left off, Chris and I had finally made it to AK after taking the longest possible way to get there from DTD. I want to say it was a little after 4:00 at this point.

675.jpg

We were feeling pretty hungry but we had dinner reservations coming up so as not to spoil our appetites, we got one of the jalepeno cheddar pretzels so many DISers rave about…OMG so good! We shared but I was being greedy haha I think we also just had a water to share. It was still so hot and we’d been out all day without our usual midday break to cool off so I think we walked through some shops at this point. Chris loves the Nightmare Before Christmas so I took a picture of this

676.jpg

Luckily, we haven’t caught on to the pin craze…I say luckily because we already have spent enough money on Vinylmations, we don’t need pins now too lol

We had no real destination as we were just waiting to meet up with Tink and her DF so we just walked.

677.jpg

We hadn’t ever ridden Dinosaur on our first AK day and the standby line was saying about 20 mins for a wait on the times board so we headed that way.

Meanwhile, for Tink: Fiancé and I were swimming when Mom, Dad, and Sis showed up a little after 4 from AKL. They were already changed into their suits, so we were able to swim with them a bit before Fiancé and I got out at 4:30. We changed and headed to the bus stop to meet up with Kristen and Chris at AK. We ran into Mom, Dad, and Sis who were walking back from the Hospitality House with some more of our packages we had sent to the Resort. I texted Kristen once our bus came…

Back at AK, Kristen and Chris were riding Dinosaur:

As always, the ride was super fun. I’m not going to lie though, I close my eyes at the end when the big dinosaur comes out, the spot where they take the picture. I can’t help it, I hate having things jump out at me, even ones I know are coming!

681.jpg

At some point, probably while we were in line for Dinosaur, Tink and her DF told us they were almost to AK. We decided we were going to meet in Africa at the Dawa Bar. Chris and I headed that way and ordered a Bud Light lime each…except they didn’t have BL lime so the bartender just gave us regular BL and put some lime juice in it which we actually really loved! Soon, my BFF and her DF were arriving! I was so excited to get to spend the night with them again! They ordered a drink and we just sat under the awning in the shade for a while chatting. Once again, these were some of my favorite times of this trip.

*I think I sprinted all the way back to Africa! Fiancé had to keep telling me to slow down. Haha! It was so much fun just sitting and talking.

The four of us were eating dinner at Yak and Yeti at 6:30 and it was about 6:00 at this point but we were hungry! So, we figured we would just head over to see if they’d let us in early.
Along the way…

686.jpg

On our way over there, the four of us got some PP pictures…for whatever reason though, they’re not on my computer but I did order one of the shots and have it hanging on my wall above my desk in my room!

*And Kristen surprised me with one of the pics in a pretty ‘Friends’ frame for my birthday!

Shortly, we made it to Yak and Yeti and they were able to seat us right away!

*We were seated next to a window. Here was our view outside:

Love them!

687.jpg

*We evidently took pics of each other! I really really REALLY miss them!

437.jpg

I just remembered that our waitress was from Levittown, NY which is where my mom was born! I told her and she said she only lived there for a short time which is true of my mom as well. She moved further East on Long Island after just a few months of living in Levittown. Anyway, we order and soon we had our food!

688.jpg

689.jpg

690.jpg

691.jpg

I don’t remember whose was whose or even what was what lol but I’m pretty sure mine and Chris’ were the first two and Tink and her DF’s are the second two. What I do know is that we all really loved our food and also enjoyed the A/C in Yak and Yeti since it was really so hot outside still.

*Everything was SO good! I don’t think any of us had anything to complain about.

After dinner it was time to stop here

692.jpg

693.jpg

694.jpg

*haha, That’s because I have the bladder a size of a pea!

But our destination was…EE! I know, we’re brave to ride right after eating, right? Of course it was an amazing ride as always! Next, we decided to ride Dinosaur again, this time with Tink and her DF.

This lady had some big hair lol

695.jpg

Again, I closed my eyes!

*I had to grab Kristen’s arm on the ride because I was laughing so hard at Chris’s screams and noises he was making the whole ride!

We were just having such a good time hanging out together the four of us! Since we were in the area, we chose to ride a ride Chris and I had never ridden before…

696.jpg

Primeval Whirl! Let me tell you, I think this might have been the longest line we waited on the whole trip! Probably about a half an hour but it didn’t matter…we had each other for company and conversation. Then it was our turn. We all went into one car…and we laughed hysterically the entire ride. As I’m typing this I have a huge, goofy smile on because I am just reliving this time in my head…we were so squished by the lap bars and the four of us in one car we just couldn’t stop laughing. I think we kept laughing even when the ride was over, we just had the giggles at that point! I’m almost sure I was crying from laughing so hard! Haha

*Oh my gosh, we were in there pretty good! Every time we got ready to drop again, we’d all be like “Uh ohhhhhhhhhh!” and start laughing again.

697.jpg

We never rode this but it looked pretty lit up at night. Since it was dark we all wanted to ride EE again. I think I forgot to mention that it was PM EMH this night. We walked back over to EE and had an even more amazing, fun right in the dark. Tink and her DF showed us how if you look back over your shoulder on the first big incline going up, you can see the Contemporary! So we kept checking that out since it was really easy to see all lit up!

**Continued in next post**

**Continued from previous**

At this point we didn’t have much more that we wanted to do and we were exhausted! We ended up leaving AK at around 9:45. When Chris and I made it back to Pop we went for a quick swim because it was still fairly early. After our pool time we made it back to the room and hit the hay. The following day would be our last full day in WDW so you know I was already getting myself upset!

*When Fiancé and I got back to OKW, we decided to get off at the first bus stop and walk over to the Hospitality House for a drink at the bar.

441-1.jpg

We sat outside at one of the tables outside between Olivia’s and the Gurgling Suitcase.:

442-1.jpg

We just talked about how fun this whole trip had been so far. Even though we didn’t want it to end, we were really missing Little Guy still. After we were done with our drinks, we walked back to the room and found out what Mom, Dad, and Sis did for the night. They ended up going to DHS for a little while, then went over to DTD to eat at Wolfgang Puck’s. They rode a bus to OKW back from DHS then rode a boat to DTD. Here’s some pics they took:

~Up next for Tink: Epcot aka “Apricot”

Great update!!! I'm really sad thSt the tr is almost coming to the end. Knowing the last day of vacation is near is always a bummer!!

How bout them yanks Kristen!!!!! Mark and Robbie on a roll!!!

What a wonderful update, Tink and Kristin!! I love that you have so much fun together, either just sittting, or riding a goofy ride together. :cloud9:

Sounds like you guys all had a lot of fun :) Your food at Yak and the Yeti looks great :) We just had a new restaraunt called Pei Wei open up in my hometown and the food is similar to the food at yak and the Yeti and it is DELICIOUS!!!!!! I feel like going back there now. Kristen, I also totally freak out on dinosaur. You handled it a lot better than I would. I am normally the person that not looking up and hiding when the picture comes up. Even though i'm use to it I feel that way. It usually is a once a trip ride for me.

haha, I always close my eyes and/or scream at the end of Dinosaur too. That big dino is really freaky! :scared1:

Aww, I love those OKW pictures. After staying there I can totally picture everything and how it's laid out. :goodvibes

I think that last February was the first time I've ever seen Dinosaur in its entirety b/c I almost always close my eyes through a very large part of it. I love it but it scares the crap out of me! My sister spends the ride holding my arm, head down, with one hand covering the ear that is not pressed against my shoulder, and the other hand covering her eyes. Our pictures are pretty funny

Yak & Yeti looks sooooo good! So awesome that the four of you got to have dinner there together, and spend the night at AK :goodvibes

So sad that Kristen's last day is coming up :( I'm honestly the biggest sap in the world and I know how hard it is to say goodbye to someone who lives far away after waiting so long to meet and see them...I'm gonna need a box of Kleenex next to me for that last night!

Haha Tink I was getting greedy with the jalapeno pretzel when my boyfriend and I shared it as well. We should have bought two but unfortunately we had saved it for later at the airport so it wasn't like we could go back to the stand and get another one lol.

Yak & Yeti is so good. Your night at AK sounded perfect :goodvibes I do think though that Primeval Whirl is one of the slowest if not the slowest loading ride at Disney! Even when they have a 5 minute wait posted it's not really 5 minutes but I always crack up laughing each time I ride so it's worth it. :)

I don't have time right now for individual replies (SORRY!) but I just want to say 3 things about that picture of Chris and I in Yak and Yeti...1) I have some kind of Elvis lip thing going on, not sure what that's about...2) I know Chris sweats a lot but I'm praying that huge wet spot on his shirt is water and not sweat...3) I don't think I've mentioned it on here but since the beginning of this year Chris has lost 25 lbs. He's doing so well and is very motivated to keep losing. Looking at him right now and comparing him to how he looks in that picture makes me so proud of him because his weight loss is very apparent!! :lovestruc :goodvibes

Aw, so nice to read about you friends enjoying your time together. (I'm sure that Chris and fiancee are missing each other almost as much as you two. )

That was no big-hair lady -- that was a brunette yeti!

What a great night at AK! You are brave for eating and then hitting up EE AND Dinosaur and all the others!!! Isn't Yak & Yeti delish? YUM!

CHRIS AND I ARE ENGAGED!! We were in Philadelphia this past weekend for our 4 year anniversary and that's when he popped the question! :lovestruc We will be getting married on October 28, 2012 :goodvibes :yay: Of course, Tink is one of my bridesmaids  So, she and I both have a big year ahead in 2012!!!

I'm a bit late in seeing this and replying, but CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!:banana::banana:

Another congrats is in order to Chris for loosing weight!!!! :thumbsup2

The food looks great! I'm so glad you guys got to spend that time together.

I love the atmosphere at Old Key West. It truly has a vacation feel, in my opinion. I love the picnic table area out by Olivia's and Goods To Go, sitting there looking over the water - so pretty!

I have been reading your trip report for a while now and I absolutly love it! :goodvibes

Tink: Little Guy is adorable and he reminds me of my cousin who just turned three. We also have a very close relationship!

Kristen: I am also from Long Island! But I have to say I don't like your sports team choice's ;) haha! My family are Jets fans and HUGE Mets fans. Congratulations on your engagement!

Great update!!! I'm really sad thSt the tr is almost coming to the end. Knowing the last day of vacation is near is always a bummer!!

Thanks for reading! While Kristen's part of the trip is coming to an end :guilty:, I still have a few more days left so don't worry, the TR isn't over yet!

What a wonderful update, Tink and Kristin!! I love that you have so much fun together, either just sittting, or riding a goofy ride together. :cloud9:

Thanks for reading Liesa! We really do have fun together doing just about everything!

It was such a good night! We didn't want it to end!

Yes, you will definitely need some kleenex! I think Kristen and I will too as we type it!
