Your Unpopular Opinions

I have a LOT of unpopular opinions, and I try very hard to keep them to myself because if i don't, I spend a lot of time arguing over them. And like someone else said: most of them involve religion or politics, so I won't go there here.

But here are a few:
I don't like tattoos
I hate dogs
I don't like the October Breast Cancer Awareness stuff
I hate the beach
I hate flip flops
I think most Hollywood Celebs are ridiculous and I don't give a rats behind about what they are doing, what they are wearing or what they think

I realized this one today after attending a Chocolate Fair. There is such a thing as to (or is it too?) much chocolate.

I have enjoyed reading this thread also. I have always said it would be a boring world if everyone was just like me. VERY boring. Some of the opinions I have never really thought about (I love Chai tea but will forever now think of tea tea when I drink it), some I am the opposite of and others I totally agree with.

Differences are what make this world go around.

oh please....women who wear $600-900 shoes have decorators:rolleyes1:flower::tongue:

Although I was being somewhat hyperbolic, not greatly. At least not in our city. Many here will economize in (I think) peculiar ways. And it's not just my observations, our business contacts from other areas of the country are frequently taken aback by attitudes in our region.

True story-I have a degree in fine art-know color inside out....I brought my swatch and a pic of a Door from Southern Living Magazine with a custom Sherwin Williams color.....they made the custom paint first for the door and I realized the color I chose for the shutters was totally wrong....salesgirl showed me that dark green color used in old New Orleans mansions...it was perfect...so what is the harm to ask a PRO???

With a degree in FA, I would think you would be the pro. They are technicians with varying amounts of exposure to technique and style. Akin to a classical trained chef vs. an experienced home cook.

Moreover, it's not about asking the opinion of the people working the paint counter, it is about monopolizing a finite resource - the (often few) people working in the big box stores.

I dislike women in Home Depot who don't know a wrench from a screwdriver nearly as much as I dislike men who don't know the HBA section from the produce department.

Although it is considered rude (and sexist), in these cases I often judge a book by its cover.

Apparently this is an unpopular opinion... :rolleyes1

.

Lol....I found out the same thing after doing to a chocolate buffet once. Love my chocolate but there is a limit.

Beer is the most disgusting drink IMO. Tastes gross, smells gross! I don't get the appeal. I don't get the craft beer craze right now.

Most of mine are already listed but:

I hate breastfeeding nazis . Just because you BF and I didnt doesnt make you a better parent.

And why is your kid 49 months? Your kid is 4 years old and shoukd be drinking from a cup.

Yes!!! I was going to post something similar before I saw this.

Mine is: I don't think breastmilk is essential for raising a healthy child. I did a ton of research when I couldn't exclusively BF my child and felt so guilty about using formula. Well, it turns out that formula fed kids have the same health outcomes (asthma, obesity etc) as BF kids, when all other factors are the same. It turns out that moms who exclusively BF tend to be upper-middle class white women so that had skewed a lot of previous studies that had deemed breastmilk some magical nectar of the gods.

I hate it when people feel it necessary to disparage the choices of others in order to make themselves feel better about their own choices.

My mother was very critical, especially of her children. I try very hard to let my kids make their own choices without judgment from me.

Were posts deleted? I didn't see any mean spirited or hurtful posts that aim to hurt feelings
No posts deleted. I just felt that some were already starting to come back to defend themselves against others' opinions. My bad if others don't feel that way. Just my UNpopular opinions I guess. ;)
I actually thought it was pretty remarkable that the thread hadn't evolved into a debate on any of the opinions stated. It's been really good that way and interesting. It seems like the fact that people aren't being challenged on their views has made many much freer in expressing them. :thumbsup2

In Sprite of pp I hate voting season I have a friend on face book that says if your voting for such and such you should slap your self I think that is just mean and immature people should have the freedom to vote on who ever they want
A little OT maybe, but I have to agree. Our DS voted for the first time in our Federal Election on Monday. It was a proud day and although I'd likely shudder to know who he voted for, the fact that we all have the liberty (and responsibility) to participate in democracy is huge.

Panhandling should be illegal. If a person can stand and hold a sign all day, they can earn money doing the same thing for a store. Also, don’t hold up a sign saying you have no money while you stand there talking on your iPhone.
.

In the last 2 months we have vacationed in Key West and Chicago. So many beggars, and yeah, they all had smart phones and cigarettes. The price of a pack of smokes would feed a family for a day. Saw 2 people 6 blocks apart in Chicago that had a nearly identical story spelled out on their cardboard signs. It's like an industry now. One guy just sat there saying "Help me...help me". Can I help you up so you can go get a job? "Now Hiring" signs in many nearby windows.

I don't mind cash bars at weddings and actually had one at mine.

I don't like wine.

I don't mind Christmas in the stores now or last month. I wouldn't mind if there was a station that played Christmas music all year long.

I think that Americans are stupid when it comes to gun control and maternity leave.

I'm American, and I agree with you on all counts.

I hate cats.
I find it insane that Donald Trump is still leading in the polls.
I also don't like Adele. :duck:

I have a lot of very unpopular opinions about guns, religion, politics, our school system and social media...but for my own sake, I'm going to leave it at that.

I don't think anyone who does not have to deal with a life threatening peanut allergy should be entitled to an opinion about how those that do deal with it. Why that irks some people is beyond me. When you get a chance to watch your two year old son's throat close up and lips and face turn blue from lack of oxygen due to anaphylaxis because he touched a peanut cookie-that is correct, touched, not ate- then you can have an opinion.

I don't mind cash bars at weddings - we had one at ours.

I don't like seeing baby girls with pierced ears, I don't think it looks right. In the same line, I don't take my kids to the Bippity Boppity Boutique, I don't need my 4yr old daughter looking like a cross between a princess and a hooker.

I don't like the Poly. It reminds me of "The Brady Bunches'" trip to Hawaii.

I don't buy that cultural differences are the reason for "foreign tour group" rudeness and obnoxious behavior at WDW. Many of the same people that excuse the tour groups, are the ones that say we USA citizens should study foreign customs before we travel to their country and make sure to abide by them.

I am still trying to figure out if you are a woman or man ;)

The problem was I had no paint chip of the door color-just the magazine
Special Southern Living article on bright front doors in Charleston SC a few months ago
(It was a custom color and they could not make me a sample)
In the article it seemed yellower, but alas when done, had a blue hue-so the color I chose was way off and too light.
