You know that Tide commercial with the victims of disaster?

Honestly, this commercial worked :) I buy Tide anyway, but I did start buying the one with the yellow cap now!

Okay, this is one of those stupid things that irrationally bothers me...

The second lady says "you don't know how very basic essentials are until you have none".... am I the only one who thinks that makes NO SENSE?? And I don't understand why that is the clip they use in the commercial, because it makes no sense to me.

Anyone else?

YES!! It drives me NUTS every time I see it. I think she meant to say "how very essential basics are..." but got her words turned around. Bad editing on the ad agency's part.

the commercials that get me are the mascara ones, where they show the women putting it on, but the wand is bright yellow, so you KNOW there is nothing on it...so how did her lashes get long and black?

I hate the BING commercials! Today I was searching for something, it came up as an option to use bing, I purposely didn't use it! Those commercials give me a headache!!:scared:

As for the Tide lady, I understood what she was saying, but it wasn't expressed well, and I fault the producer/editor of the commercial, not this poor lady who had some kind of a disaster and can't even do her own laundry;)

The issue I have with the Tide commercial is that I can't figure out which natural disaster they were gracing with their presence. There were no Tide trucks doing our laundry after Ike, and every friend I talked to in different areas had ever seen one either. Clean laundry would have been really appreciated after 2 weeks without!

I didn't make sense of that line in the Tide commercial either. :confused3

I'm also bothered by the AT&T wireless ad where the boy goes to Europe and sends the girlfriends pics of all the places he goes. The song playing starts with the line "I think that possibly maybe I'm falling for you". (actual Song title: "Falling In Love at a Coffee Shop" Artist: Landon Pigg )
I have to change the channel when it comes on.

OMG, i was reading this post as this same commercial came on my tv! FREAKY! :happytv:

It may have bugged you but it was written brilliantly because it made you do what the company wants you to do: talk about Tide. You won't forget the product and you may not use it, but every time you tell someone how much that commercial bothers you you're mentioning the product. Someone else may not feel the same way about the commercial as you do and they'll go out and buy Tide because they like the idea that Tide is helping people when they're in a disaster.

Free advertising. WTG Tide! ;)
