Hi Everyone,
I have been lurking for a while and have read this complete thread. You have all motivated me again. 4 years ago I ebayed my way to Disney for 2 trips for a family of 5. This was all in part to Beanie Babies. Yes I was one of those terrible people who bought at my local stores and sold on line. I use to double what I paid for them.
Then when beanies died I got a real job. Had a yard sale the following summer and made $1000 dollars twoards our 3rd trip. The 4th trip and upcoming 5th tripI just saved with my regular job.
Now i want to do a Disney Cruise next October-hubby just rolled his eyes:rolleyes: . Well after reading all your posts i decided to try and dive in again. After all i have knowledge and the 225 positive feedback i just needed to find the time and find something to sell. Well everyone tells me that Ebay is a world wide yard sale so I started to tear my house and garage apart-and walah!:Pinkbounc tons of stuff to sell. Thanks also for intoducing me to Turbo Lister. I LOVE It! I now have 108 auctions up and running and in 9 days have 240 dollars in my Paypal account!! Think that cruise is getting closer to reality. What am I selling??:
Childrens books in lots that they have out grown.
PC games they have out grown.
Xmas gifts that we recieved that are new that we will never use.
TONS of fabric from when i use to do craft fairs.
Clothing.
Yard sale Stuff my hubby brings home from clean out jobs.
My kids are teasing me that if they stand still too long i might list them on Ebay-if only they would bring a good price
:jester: -only kidding.

Thanks everyone for reawaking me to the wonders of Ebay and for the encouragement to save for next trip!!
You are all great!:D

Hey gang, its me again, with another question. This time its about turbo lister. I have a few items I want to list at a later date, but I won't be home to do it. Whats the diff. between turbo lister and the schedule at a later date on the auction on the sell page. I know that turbo lister lets you do all fancy stuff to your listing, but being I'm clueless to all of that, I just list the plain boring way, although I do some HTML. Do you think turbo lister is for me or should I just list with a delayed schedule. I read on the ebay discussion boards that some people do have problems with tl. More problems I don't need, so if you all think its easier for me to list w/o tl, I'll listen to you. TIA....

SO VERY FRUSTRATING!!

I've been trying to download TURBO Lister -- and I get to the last step of my Shield installation wizard or whatever--where I put my name in--and the FINISH button can not be clicked--only BACK or CANCEL

Please help!

FFeret,

According to Ebay's listing policies, you're not allowed to link to a non-ebay site or page in your description. You are, however, allowed to link where ever you like on your about me page. If you don't have one already, I suggest you get one. Buyers like to know a little bit about the seller before they buy. Makes them feel more comfortable with the purchase.

Thanks, indigo :)
I'll get an About Me going soon then.

I'm figuring out now how to do the html.... Don't really want to link.
I want what I have on my webpage to be what shows up on the description; so far a lot of it I'm just now understanding...

Any ideas on what's gone wrong with me downloading Turbo Listing? I get to the last step it seems and it won't let me enter my name...

Hello all!!!

I have a 2 parter here...LOL
The first is a BIG thank you to C.Ann and others to get me Ebaying! So far my auctions are up over $100. and I have a day to go!! Yippee!! So thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!

My second part is I thought I read somewhere on this thread (and there is NO way I'm going back to find it!) about a program that will let you see who's watching your auctions. Some banana thing is sticking in my head, but I seem to recall there was a problem with it. Can anyone help? Thanks so much!

FFerret,

First I know very little about TurboLister (although I use it myself). What I do know is that sometimes you will download a buggy version, or a version that is not compatible with your operating system. Try to uninstall TL, delete the data files, and then download and reinstall it.

Second, As for using HTML in your description. That's totally allowed (of course!). Just copy and paste what is in between your <body> tags (but not the <body> tags). Now, with a little bit of cleanup that should work.

An image link looks thusly:
img src="http://mydomain.com/mydirectory/myimage.jpg" alt="Big Purple Dragon"

but with < and > on the end

I can't view the source on your webpage for technical reasons of my own, but basically, everything I saw there should work in the description area of an ebay auction.

Hope that helps,

-indigo :earsboy:

Indigo--thanks so much :)

I FINALLY got the silly thing to download--you HAVE to put in a company name to download TurboLister ( I thought I had tried it but apparently didn't before)--can't tell you how many times I tried downloading it....BLONDE MOMENT :)

Eventually I stumbled across eBay's HTML practice page:

http://pages.ebay.com/education/tutorial/course2/hyper_5.html

That's helped trememdously!

Thanks again, and have a happy Sunday :)

I remember this being mentioned earlier in this thread, but I just can't find it!!

I remember someone (C.Ann??) would put money in their PayPal account to be able to use the PayPal debit card. Would someone explain to me how to do this?? (I'm a PayPal dummy.)

Thanks! :jester:

Alright, another problem :(

So far I've only had a couple of auctions and I didn't use my premiere paypal account. But now I'd like to start using it. Today I'm going to upload from TurboLister four listings--but I don't see anywhere I can change my paypal addy to my Premiere one?

Help!!!!!!!!

I don't know anything about turbo lister, but in the regular listing the place to change it is on the payment screen. You checkmark which payments you accept. If you check on paypal, you have to enter an email address.

Go to your paypal main page, click on Add Funds tab, then click on the link "transfer funds from a bank account", put in the amount you want to add to your paypal account, then continue, and process.....it will take about 3-4 business days for the transaction to be complete. You will receive a notice when it is complete, but you can also just log on to check it out.

Hi, I need to send a friendly reminder to 2 winners. I never did this, because I always either got paid instantly or after ebay sent the invoice the winners would email me. Could I copy someones friendly reminder note. I'm not good at all at wording things and I just want to remind them that they won the auction 7 days ago and payment is due by the 10th day of auction closing. (I know, I act like a child). But if anyone can tell me what to write I'd appreciate it. Thanks AGAIN.....

I ususually just sent a payment reminder through ebay, I like doing it this way because then with everything being through ebay there is a "record" that it was done.

But if you want to send an email how about a simple

Hi,

I have not recieved payment for your winning bid on auction (insert name and number here). Please contact me by (insert your time frame here) with your planned method of payment. Remember per my auction payments are due 10 days after auction end.

If I do not here from you by (insert date / time) here I will be following Ebay guidelines for nonpaying bidders.

Thanks for bidding,

Your name here

Learning as I go along here....
Turned out not to be a problem--I went ahead and uploaded it--then went to the auction to revise it there and just typed in the new addy

Thanks for the help, Madi :)

People really are dense, huh? Someone double paid me for an auction on Friday. I refunded one of the payments with a polite note that she double paid me, so I was refunding one of the payments and that I would ship her item on Monday. So she pays me again today! I refunded it again with a note that she was already paid up and that I'd be shipping her item on Monday. Anyone want to bet that she pays me again?

Hi Christa, thanks for the note. I'm going to copy that and save it for future use. I know I sent them all reminders from ebay, I just don't remember if I did it yesterday or not. My memory is shot. If I don't write things down I forget. I blame all that on the aggravations my kids give me. Well, may that and the fact that I might be getting JUST ALITTLE BIT older.

Well, I went away this weekend, and I was sure hoping for some action over the weekend while I was gone, and it was kind of dissappointing. Only 3 out of 14 have sold so far for auctions ending this evening. There are still 3 to go, but no bids on any of them yet. OK, whining over! :teeth:

phorsenuf - you were right about the initial B and that it's food, and that there is trouble, LOL! ;) It's baconbuttie! I'm still using his/her script in my auctions - there is a new version that makes no reference to baconbuttie, so ebay can't figure out that you are using it. Click Here

I know Doris (DMRick) is wary of using it, and I respect her concerns, particularly where her eBay business is her livelihood.
Personally, I tend to be a bit of a renegade, I like the watch list, and I feel like there is a limit to how vindictive eBay should be. If they have a problem with this particular person, fine, but that should stay between eBay and baconbuttie. Considering that baconbuttie takes no payment other than donations for this service, I can't see the harm.
Maybe I'll change my tune at some point later on, and I'll certainly discuss it here if I do. I guess that until eBay offers a method of tracking watchers of my auctions, or until Baconbuttie does something that I judge to be unethical, I'll keep using the code.

Hey Lori, how about this: if that buyer pays you again, take it as an aggravation fee! ;)

Well, let's hope this will be a better week!
