Last time I said "it's got to get better", it didn't, so I won't say that!!

But just hang in there... maybe go ahead and ship that slow payer's item and say, "oops! Already gone, because I make it a policy to be prompt and live up to my commitments"!

I hope your DH improves and that things do look better for you after this weekend!

Yikes, C.Ann!

At this rate I feel sorry for the BEAR!! Go GET em, girl! :bounce:

Remember, without a TEST there is no TESTimony! :teeth:

Hey C.Ann just think it could be worse, you could be raising 3 girls, 2 of them teenagers (twins 18yrs old) driving, sharing 1 car, fighting over who gets the car tonight, running out of gas ALL the time, AAA threatening to cancel you if you keep calling them to bring them gas, both work, never having any money, going to college ONLY 4 minutes away from home(UGH), a CRANKY husband and a 9 yr.old who wants to know where babies come from RIGHT NOW......So take the slow payers with a grain of salt, have a drink and IGNORE everybody.......
It'll get better, I bet in a few days you'll be posting that the widget you got at that garage sale for $1.00 sold for $45.00......and you got paid instantly..

I have 6 hallmark ornamnets I want to sell. I've noticed them selling in lots of 3 (not for a bad price either! LOL). I'm wondering though, should I split them up into 2 lots or try my luck at selling them together. I don't want to shortchange myself, but I would like the most possible for them. What do you all think and how do you all come to decide lots? Thanks!

ALSO....check out my next post, if this isn't incentive, I don't know what is!!

My husband and I were discussing DVC last night because it is something we've been wanting to do for a while now. I had spoken with our rep yesterday and went over all the costs and such to buy into Saratoga Springs. When DH came home last night I talked with him about it and he said........"Could you repay that money by selling on Ebay?" Meaning if we take it out of savings, could I put that amount back in. So not being stupid....I said "of course I can!!!"
I've pretty much already figured out the numbers and weekly amount I would need to make and while I know Ebay can be hot and cold, I still KNOW I can do it!!!
So.....guess whose buying DVC!!!!! I'm so happy!!
So perhaps we need to subtiltle this thread EBAY your way to DVC! LOL

Also...is there any thoughts about making this a sticky? It sure would make things easier. Or perhaps even a new board.....;)

These seem to sell well, and I want to list it, but haven't located a box big enough to pack it in. Any ideas on how to package a drum case with a drum inside?

Why don't you take a look at www.fetpak.com. They have a terrific selection of different size packing cartons. If this is something that you sell often, fetpak may be useful for you as I believe they do have a 25 per item minimum....but they do sell bubble wrap and tissue pack as well....free delivery (atleast when I placed my last order)

When it rains it pours......and I am so sorry for all of the trouble that you are having.....I won't offer any advice, sometimes it all just goes sour. Hopefully you have some beautiful weather at the lake, the coffee you make turns out perfect and you can get some R&R.

Phorsenuf, we do this too! I pay for our monthly DVC mortgage with Ebay profits! It definately gives you the motivation to get on there and sell...I know sometimes I can be lazy about it but now having to meet that target number every month really lights a fire under me!

Congrats on your purchase, I can't say enough good things abt DVC!!

It must be "hunt down the non-payers" week...

I have a woman who won an auction from me THREE WEEKS AGO. She responded to the invoice saying that she would be paying with a money order. I waited a week and a half, then emailed her asking where the money order was. Two days later, I get a reply, asking if I accept PayPal, because she has been sick. I emailed back immediately, saying that I did, giving her all of the info.

And here I sit, still waiting for payment. I emailed her this morning saying that I was going to be filing NPB on her if I don't receive payment by midnight on Sunday night.

If she's well enough to check her freaking email, is she not well enough to click a couple of times on PayPal and pay me?? SHEESH!

Of course, for every one of those, I have two incredibly nice, fast bidders. I have a woman who responded to an invoice, then sent me an email, I received her money order in the mail within a few days, with a cute little note. THOSE are the kind of people I LOVE working with!! :D

Hi All,

I've been reading this post for a couple of months now (it really is long!). I started selling back in July and have done pretty well.

I hope that someone can help me with a question -- when preparing auctions in TurboLister it asks if I want to start the auction as soon as it is uploaded and then it inserts the day & time that I complete the listing on TL. My question is, if I wait a day or so before uploading, will it change the date to the day & time I uploaded?

I.e. if I prepare the auction on Monday, Sept 15 at 3p, but don't upload until Wed, Sept 17 at 6p, what will be listed as my start date?

Thanks so much for all the motivation! After reading all these posts, I feel like I've known you all for years!

Maggie

Hi everyone,

I have a quick question...if anyone is inclined! :)

I just bought a 30# postal scale and got it for just under $20.00, but now I'm wondering if I made a mistake, it's battery operated. Am I going to regret that?

Thanks in advance!
Robin

I have the same type of scale and have been using it for a couple of years.....never had a problem...always accurate, just keep some extra batteries just in case.

Hi Maggie,

If I understand your question, you are asking if the upload to eBay dictates the start and end time of the auction... The answer is yes... the auction starts at the time it is uploaded, and ends 3, 5, 7 or 10 days later, whatever you have set. So if you prepare listings on Saturday then upload on sunday for the default 7 days, they'll start on Sunday when uploaded, and run until that same time the following.

Unless you have used the delayed start feature which incurs an extra charge, and specify exactly the date and time the listing is to begin.

HTH!

I'm doing the little happy dance!! :teeth:

Thanks so much Claudia!! I'm relieved to hear that! I don't know why I panicked...I guess it's just because I know absolutely nothing about them!

Now I can't wait to get it!

:) :) :) :) Thank you!!

Question for you pro's out there -

If I am shipping books and cassette tapes all in the same box, can I ship it media mail?

I feel so dense when it comes to this kind of stuff - if it was books by themselves, I'd send 'em media mail; if it was tapes by themselves, I'd send 'em media mail...just don't know if you can mix 'em.

Thanks!

I don't see why you couldn't. I mean if the items you are sending are "media" they should be able to go media mail right? Shouldn't matter if they are mixed media or single type media.

Mrs. Snowgod,

Thank you so much for your reply. That is exactly what I meant and needed to know.

Wow, I feel like Brad Pitt just spoke to me -- YOU're a celebrity on this board!!

This is kinda weird but I thought you guys might be able to help. I have been in the market for some Packers tickets. It so happens that there is an auction for tickets that I want to bid on. There was a buy it now for $300.00 this morning now there are two bids placed so BIN is gone. However, the ending of the auction is September 14th at 19:57 PDT. The game is at Noon on Sunday. What's up with that. The only thing I can think of is the seller is willing to end the auction early.

What do you think.

Martha

Martha,
Where is the seller from? I'd say that they want to meet you and exchange the tickets. I've seen tickets sold this way before.
Good luck with the tickets my DH has been dying to get packer tickets:rolleyes: but so far they(the team) aren't doing so hot this year:confused:

Do girls clothes do better on ebay then boys? I have sold several lots and individual girls clothes with mostly good results. I have a lot of Boys Tees right now (DD went through a phase last fall) and they have only gotten 3 hits since Sunday.
