"You Guys Are Cast Members... Right?" - A December 2011 TR

I have a few things to reply to of course, but I had put my guess in first!!

Yay yay yay yay yay for another Disney trip!!! Of course I'm guessing Beach Club/Yacht Club!!

and I love love love :lovestruc Once Upon A Time, and the oh so handsome Prince Charming *swoon* ;)

So, we also went to Beaches & Cream during our last trip. There was 8 of us- 6 adults and 2 children.
My husband and his parents sat at one table and my DSIL, her husband and her two kids sat at one across from us. We each ordered a kitchen sink. We got about as close to finishing as you guys did... but my DSIL and her family didn't even get half done.
It was delicious though....
speaking of ice cream... the trip before that, we went to DTD and went to the Giradhelli store. We ordered their big ice cream thing too.. I think we got:The Earthquake - Family Favorite 8 scoops of ice cream, eight delicious toppings, finished with fresh bananas, whipped cream, chopped almonds, decadent chocolate chips and cherries.
But I'm not positive. Are you seeing a trend here, with the ice cream?

ALSO-- my guess is AKL! I've ALWAYS wanted to stay there!

Still reading along!

Hahaha well I think you know how obsessed I am with the Beach Club so very good guess! I'm gonna tell in a day or two as soon as it's OFFICIALLY booked. :thumbsup2

Yay another fan! Um YEAH! He is extremely attractive, I can't handle it. I have a huge crush on him.

Oh wow! I guess that's the difference between kid and adult appetites! Really makes me wonder if anyone EVER finishes it? Hahah I wonder how much melted ice cream they toss out every day?
 That sounds delicious! I need to try the Ghiradelli shop someday.

OOH! Good guess! That's actually the one I want to stay at second most! (if that makes sense...) First Beach Club, then AKL! BUT, I also said I want to stay at all the resorts someday! Hahaha, I'm hoping we'll get it reserved within the next day or so, and then I can finally tell yall!

THANKS SO MUCH! :goodvibes

Hi Marissa:wave2: It's Victoria from twitter

I'm on like the fourth update but I have to get off soon and work more on my english project (stupid school) and I would forget what I would want to comment about! And sorry for my comments being random and sparratic! Lol Anywhoo...

I lllooovvveee your trip report so far!:goodvibes

And omg I also went to Disney in late June 2010! We went from June 26- July 3! It would be so funny if we were there at the same time!

My parents actually suprised my brother and me with a trip to Disney! It was for either my eigth or ninthbirthday (I'm drawing a blank) and like a week or two before my birthday they told me that they had a surprise for my brother and me. All these different things were running through my head and I actually thought what if we're going to Disney but I brushed it off quickly. When we got home from school they gave a bag to me and a bag to my brother and in my bag was a Disney birthday cake hat and in my brother's was the info that we were going to disney from November 8- November 12!! We were ecstatic it was absolutely amazing. It was an extra bonus for me because 1) I always love Disney more than my brother and 2) I was going to be there for my birthday (November 10). It was a dream come true!

With that being said... It looks like you guys had a great time so far and I can't wait to read more!:)

Hey girl! Thanks for joining! Haha... you know what's funny? At first when you followed me on twitter, I thought it was because I was a Diser! But then I figured out that it was probably because we follow/are followed by a lot of the same people. Anyways!

Aww thank you so much, I'm glad you do!

Omg, we were there June 20-25... you literally came the day after I left! So funny.

That's so awesome! That's literally a dream of mine hahaha. I don't blame you for brushing off the idea though, because I would have done the same thing, just so I wouldn't get my hopes up. But that's so cute! Sounds like an awesome surprise and I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to be at Disney on my birthday one year! SO awesome that they surprised yall like that.

With that being said... It looks like you guys had a great time so far and I can't wait to read more!:)

(The rest of my response is up there ^^^ haha.) Thank you for reading and commenting already! I appreciate it!

november 10 is my bday too!!!!

How exciting to have a new trip coming up! I'm going to guess Port Orleans Riverside.

The Kitchen Sink looked like a lot of fun. I've never been to Beaches and Cream either, although I did dream last night that I went there for my birthday. I'm sure it's even better in real life!

I've never seen the rope drop show at the Magic Kingdom, but I know everybody loves it. I love seeing Main Street looking all Christmasy. It's so beautiful that time of year.

Hahah, what an awesome dream! Funny, the other night I dreamed that I was at Stormalong Bay... ya can't make this stuff up!

Yall should see it someday! It really is so cute. I agree, I love Disney at Christmas! They do it right, that's for sure!

The One Where We Celebrate Friendship Day

December 15, 2011

As you may have figured out, we were going to have breakfast at the Crystal Palace!

HALLELUJAH. Let me tell you, I LOVE that place.

Back story: When my family decided to go to Disney, we did it pretty last minute. As in, we booked the trip in May, and we went in June. I was appointed as the planner, and thanks to the AMAZING Birnbaum’s Guide to Disney World book, I learned all about the wonder that is the Crystal Palace. Thankfully, I was able to get us a reservation for breakfast! When we went, we absolutely loved loved LOVED it! It ended up being a family favorite (and I already have it booked for the next trip)!

That being said, I was SO excited to go back for breakfast again, but at the same time I was a little bit nervous. Nobody else had ever eaten there before, and we weren’t on the dining plan, so I was SLIGHTLY worried that they wouldn’t like it, or that they wouldn't think it was worth the cost. I was hopeful though, and I kept talking it up before we went in.

Our reservation was at 8:05 AM, but we waited a couple of minutes before we went inside. I took some pictures of the castle (ONE of which you have already seen)! Another great thing about this place is the view you have while you’re waiting to go inside! It’s so gorgeous.

We were called inside probably at 8:05 on the dot, and shown to our table.

We were seated on the left side of the restaurant, (which is the same side that I sat on last time, too!) all the way in the back. It was actually a great spot!

Our waiter, Kyle, came over and introduced himself. Then before we knew what was even happening, Piglet came over!

OMG, PIGLET.

Yall, I can’t really explain why, but Piglet is my absolute favorite. And that’s saying A LOT, because I consider pretty much every Winnie the Pooh character a favorite. Piglet is my favorite favorite. Yeah, I make sense. Really though, he’s so precious! I JUST LOVE HIM. I was thrilled that he was our first character meet at Crystal Palace… AND our first character meet of the whole trip!

SDC12245.jpg

SDC12439.jpg

408905_10151077711360177_820575176_22144778_1581621463_n.jpg

Hahah, okay, can we just talk about how awkward that last picture is? First of all, I look like I have abnormally short legs. I was just really excited to meet Piglet… that’s what I’m going to go with. Also, does it not look like he’s smelling my face? HE WAS KISSING ME, I PROMISE! Hahaha, oh that picture.

After Piglet and I parted ways, we all decided that if we were going to eat at all at this breakfast, that we had to make a run for the buffet! Tigger was coming over soon!

This is my food. I didn’t take pictures of anybody else’s because I didn’t want them to be scared of me. Amanda took a picture of her own food (she’s such a Diser in the making, yall) but I don’t have it.

SDC12247.jpg

Anyways, I got: a biscuit, a CHOCOLATE Mickey waffle, some strawberries and cream, some watermelon, a hard boiled egg, puffed french toast, eggs, and bacon. (Spoiler: I didn't eat it all).

For whatever reason, I didn’t even know of the existence of Pooh’s puffed French toast in 2010. I think I immediately passed it over without looking at it because it was in the little kid area! I guess I thought it was off limits, but I am SO glad I knew about it this time. OH MY GOSH… delicious.

We barely had time to make a dent in our food before…

SDC12594.jpg

...HERE COMES TIGGER!!!

Tigger was hilarious, I tell ya. As you can see, Ryan was taking a picture of him as he came up to our table, and he went up all close to his camera and posed. Then he came up behind Kristen and put his ‘paws’ on her shoulders and jumped up and down.

SDC12440.jpg

When I was taking this picture, he decided to move in closer at the last second to block everyone else.

SDC12249.jpg

HAHAHA. Then we got a normal one too.

SDC12250.jpg

Then I took my picture with him! I’m not posting it though, because Tigger was giving a thumbs up, and the angle of the picture makes it look like his hand is in an inappropriate spot. So… nope! Hahaha.

THEN, Ryan took a picture with him.

401592_10151077711500177_820575176_22144780_326250228_n.jpg

Before he could leave, he turned to us all and pointed, as if to say, “Okay, are you good? Are you good? How about you?” Hahah it’s hard to explain, but it was hilarious!

We finally got a chance to eat after that! As I said, the food was just delicious. The only thing was that I waited too long to eat my biscuit, so when I got to it, it wasn’t very soft. I only ended up taking a bite of that. Also, the bacon wasn’t the best. For some reason, none of the bacon I’ve ever had at Disney has been all that great. I have no clue why… it’s weird! But everything else was awesome! I’m sure my biscuit would have been awesome had I eaten it sooner! It's okay, I didn't have room for it all anyway!

While we were eating, we were visited by a willy nilly silly old bear! Oh, how I love that bear! Since I’m a dork, I asked him if he had enough honey to satisfy him. He nodded and patted his tummy. Hehehe.

SDC12254.jpg

SDC12441.jpg

That is not the greatest picture, as you can see. Like, what the heck with my hair? Hahaha. Oh dear.

After we hung out with Pooh for a little while, there was an announcement saying that the PARADE was starting soon! Well, I don’t know about yall, but I have absolutely no shame. When that parade started, Amanda, Sally, and I all got up and paraded around the restaurant, marching with the little four year olds. Kristen was marching with us until she hit the buffet, and then she made a sharp left turn to the food! Hahaha that girl cracks me up. I can’t believe Ryan didn’t get any footage of this! I promise you that it happened.

After a little while we were visited by a very solemn, yet adorable donkey named Eeyore! I love him too. I told him that I ALWAYS notice him, and he drew a heart in the air. AWW, so precious!

Did I mention that I love the Pooh characters and stories with a passion? Oh, that was in another update? Yeah... I think you get the idea by now anyway.

SDC12444.jpg

After a while, we were all finished with our delicious breakfast and ready to go! Before we could leave though, Piglet came around again! YES. So we got a group shot with him…

380894_10151077710845177_820575176_22144771_1958930830_n.jpg

…and we also got a shot with our awesome waiter, Kyle! Did I mention that we loved him? He was great!

380808_10151077712605177_820575176_22144795_789454005_n.jpg

I’m happy to report that everyone LOVED this breakfast! I was so glad that I had suggested we go there! We payed our bills, thanked Kyle, and headed toward the entrance.

Is this restaurant beautiful, or what?

SDC10791.jpg

We got one last group shot in front of the topiaries before we left!

401782_10151077712935177_820575176_22144802_1780017111_n.jpg

With that, we headed out in search of a little more Magic Kingdom fun!

Until next time, Crystal Palace!

Continued in Next Update

Hooray for Crystal Palace! We, too, fell in love with it during our honeymoon. Good food and wonderful company! Such a good choice. :goodvibes

I love Piglet! He's so cute! I love that photo because it legit looks like he is smelling your face. But it's still cute!

Isn't the puffed French toast amaaaazing? I thought it was off limits but ended up eating it anyway during our honeymoon. Kid area or not, it's delicious and should be enjoyed by people of all ages!

Maybe it's because he is Tigger but I've always found him like super intense! I have a photo of him and me and he is like squishing me, hahaha. But it's okay because he is cute.

Pooh is always so cute and so fun to hug. I love that bear. :goodvibes

I legit laughed out loud that you guys did the parade! AMAZING. I read it to Matt and he thought it was funny. I would've cheered you on had I been there.

Eeyore is my faaaaavorite. He is so cute and I just want to cheer him up every time!

Hahaha OMG so. As soon as you said Kyle, I was like that sounds familiar. Then I see the photo and YUP, he was our waiter for breakfast (haven't gotten that far yet in my TR). :rotfl: how funny! He was very nice, but unfortunately reeeeeally slow. I think it was just because he was busy, and also trying to buy time for us so we wouldn't miss characters, so I wasn't too upset. Anyway, that is really funny that you guys had him!

Can't wait to find out where you guys are staying! :yay:

What a fun breakfast! :goodvibes I don't think there's a better way to start the day! :thumbsup2

Yay for CP!!! I love that you guys joined the parade (and that Kristen veered off for the food!) :rotfl: Isn't the puffed French toast amazing?

I agree! It's actually my favorite restaurant at Disney so far.

I love Piglet! He's so cute! I love that photo because it legit looks like he is smelling your face. But it's still cute!

Hahaha thank you. If his nose wasn't so long it would have been more convincing in the picture that he was kissing me! He loves me back.

Isn't the puffed French toast amaaaazing? I thought it was off limits but ended up eating it anyway during our honeymoon. Kid area or not, it's delicious and should be enjoyed by people of all ages!

It's SO good. Wow. I don't like normal French toast but I LOVE that stuff. Yeah, I mean I don't really know why I thought I couldn't eat the stuff in the kid corner or whatever it's called. I didn't even look at it my first time eating there. But it's not like anyone's gonna come up and kick me out of the restaurant haha! I think it just says kid corner because the stuff they have there would be appealing to kids. :confused3

Maybe it's because he is Tigger but I've always found him like super intense! I have a photo of him and me and he is like squishing me, hahaha. But it's okay because he is cute.

Haha I've never been squished by Tigger! It just means he loves you! He was so so funny.

Pooh is always so cute and so fun to hug. I love that bear. :goodvibes

It's pretty hard not to love him!

I legit laughed out loud that you guys did the parade! AMAZING. I read it to Matt and he thought it was funny. I would've cheered you on had I been there.

Hahaha! Thank you! I'm glad yall find me humorous. Thanks! I think a few of the adults probably thought we were crazy... but I tried not to look directly at them... hahaha.

Eeyore is my faaaaavorite. He is so cute and I just want to cheer him up every time!

Oh my gosh thank you for saying that! I have to go edit my post now because I forgot that I did say something to him that cheered him up!

Hahaha OMG so. As soon as you said Kyle, I was like that sounds familiar. Then I see the photo and YUP, he was our waiter for breakfast (haven't gotten that far yet in my TR). :rotfl: how funny! Oh really? Hmmm... interesting! What time did yall go? We were there as soon as it opened and the restaurant wasn't full at all, so maybe that's why?

Can't wait to find out where you guys are staying! :yay:

And I can't wait to share! Ughh let's just BOOK this thing already, family of mine!

What a fun breakfast! :goodvibes I don't think there's a better way to start the day! :thumbsup2

It was so much fun! I have to agree! I absolutely love that place.

Yay for CP!!! I love that you guys joined the parade (and that Kristen veered off for the food!) :rotfl: Isn't the puffed French toast amazing?

Hahah thank you! I mean, it looked like fun, and they never said no adults allowed, right? :thumbsup2 YES the puffed French toast is just perfect. I loved it!

cute update, had me smiling!

Aww thanks! :goodvibes

Love the Crystal Palace! We don't eat there very often, but I was really happy that we made the reservation there in January.

You look great in your pictures! I see no awkwardness at all. But I know what you mean. We see ourselves in pictures and tend not to like it very much.

Yeah, our ADR was for 8:35, and it was a little busy, but not insane or anything at all. He was VERY friendly, but for whatever reason was slow in handling our older plates or refills and getting our check was pretty difficult.

We'd only seen like 2 characters by that point so I think he might've just been trying to buy us time, since I know people can get very upset if all characters don't stop by their table by the time they're done eating.

I kind of wanted to tell him like, it's okay, we saw all of the characters at dinner the other night, it's okay if they don't all make it to us, we're just here for a good breakfast, saying hi to whatever characters make it to us, then heading out to the park early!

It was definitely not the end of the world or anything and we tipped him well because he was a nice waiter, I just think he was busy and worried about us not seeing all of the characters.

I love it too! I look forward to hearing about yall's experience! I love your picture from there on the intro to your TR. :goodvibes

Aww thank you! Hahah well the one with Piglet is slightly awkward because of the fact that he had his little snout pressed against my face, and I just look so excited about it! He's so precious. But yeah, I think we're our own worst critics sometimes!

From what I recall he was good about refilling our drinks, but I think it took him a little longer to process our checks. Most likely because all of us were separate except for Amanda and Kristen. But who's to know really? Haha. Anyways, it is pretty funny that we had the same waiter!

Yay, I love Crystal Palace!! We're taking a break from it for a little while, because we have gone there for breakfast 3 trips in a row, but I will definitely be going there again! That puffed french toast is amazing!!! :lovestruc

I think you look great in your pictures! You have such nice, long hair! (Don't mind me, I'm jealous of anyone with really long hair right now since I just chopped mine off :sad1:) I know what you mean though, I look at myself in my pictures from Disney and I'm like "ugh, that doesn't look like me at all!"

I love that you asked Pooh if he had enough honey, that's sweet! I love Pooh bear!

ps-Did you book your next trip yet? I want to know where you're staying! :rolleyes1
