"You Guys Are Cast Members... Right?" - A December 2011 TR

Oh wow! That sounds so cool. Boardwalk! Awesome! What a nice wife you are. :)

Aww, thank you! But, he is a really good husband & father. He works very hard so I can be a stay at home mom and still have all of the things we need and, of course, our Disney vacations. I'm really proud of him. He just started running this past July & has done really well with it. It's helped him to lose weight and now he runs 7.5 miles about 3x a week. Now, I just need to follow his example & get motivated to lose my extra fluff!

I bet the fall decorations and events will be wonderful! And your vacation is THAT MUCH SOONER! Yay!

I am really exciting about experiencing what the Fall has to offer at Disney. It'll be a new experience for us. I am soooo excited that the vacation is sooner.....I went from being 296 days away from Disney to only 226! :yay: And I'll get to make ADR's on April 2nd instead of June 11th. :cool1:

Hahhaha maybe! ONE CAN ONLY HOPE. We definitely looked at Beach Club Villas too, but for some reason they only have 4 person villas or 8 person villas... no in between! We considered it but the price difference was just too GINORMOUS! We would have stayed in a normal Beach Club room, but my dad is a snoring machine, so we just needed the extra space!

Okay so, that IS weird. But I think I figured it out. Some of the one-bedroom villas (like at BLT and OKW) have an extra chair in the living room area that pulls out into an extra bed. For whatever reason BCV only has the king bed and then the queen size pull-out in the living area, so room for 4 people.

I remember this because we stayed in a 1BR during our honeymoon and there was an extra chair in the living room. I think it's also because it's a much bigger living area than BCV is..

That's one of the downfalls of BCV is that out of all the DVC resorts, it has some of the smallest rooms, while OKW has by far the largest. Buuuut I think the trade-off of being at Beach Club makes it worth it. ;)

ANYWAY, sorry for the tangent, but either way that is wicked exciting! AND you will get to experience having an amazing jacuzzi tub in your bathroom. It is seriously the best thing ever, especially after a long day in the parks!

Crystal Palace is so good! I cannot wait to eat there in two weeks! I love the puffed french toast!

I gained a whole new love for Piglet after the last Winnie the Pooh movie. He was so adorable in it!

Sounds like a great breakfast!

Yay for Bay Lake Tower!!! I will be staying at the Contemporary in September/October so I am excited to hear all about your stay!

Wow, Bay Lake Tower, never would have guessed that one! I'd love to stay there someday, maybe rent points or something, it looks really nice, and you cannot get a better location, you're practically in the Magic Kingdom! I need to stay at a monorail resort someday, I love the monorail! :lovestruc You're going to have such a great trip!

That's so sweet! Wow, good for him! That's so awesome! Hahah, extra fluff... yeah, I should probably follow his example too! :worship:

I am really exciting about experiencing what the Fall has to offer at Disney. It'll be a new experience for us. I am soooo excited that the vacation is sooner.....I went from being 296 days away from Disney to only 226! :yay: And I'll get to make ADR's on April 2nd instead of June 11th. :cool1:

I bet yall will have an awesome time! Wow that's a whole 60 days fewer, that's so much sooner! I'm guessing you already have a good idea of where you want to book come April 2... :rotfl:

Yeah! I think you're exactly right! BLT (it always makes me laugh to abbreviate that... I'm not talkin' about a sandwich!) has the extra sleeper chair. I guess it just all comes down to the size of the living room. Interesting!

That's one of the downfalls of BCV is that out of all the DVC resorts, it has some of the smallest rooms, while OKW has by far the largest. Buuuut I think the trade-off of being at Beach Club makes it worth it. ;)

Don't apologize for your tangents, seriously. I mean if you ever wish to go off on a random tangent on ANY TR, feel free to pick mine. Oh gosh YES that will be grand. MONORAIL!!!! (Wait, what?) :rolleyes1

Yay for BLT!!!!!!!!!!!! You guys are going to have a great time there!!!!!!!!!!! :yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

YAY is right! Hahaha I'm sure we're gonna have an awesome time! Thanks for your excitement! Love it. :goodvibes

Crystal Palace is so good! I cannot wait to eat there in two weeks! I love the puffed french toast!

Oh my goodness, yes, I LOVE IT! It's so delicious. OMG two weeks!!! AHHH that's so exciting. :yay:

I gained a whole new love for Piglet after the last Winnie the Pooh movie. He was so adorable in it!

Hahaha aw! I agree, he is adorable in that movie. I just love him.

Sounds like a great breakfast!

It certainly was! :goodvibes

Yay for Bay Lake Tower!!! I will be staying at the Contemporary in September/October so I am excited to hear all about your stay!

Oh that's right! Are yall staying in a tower room? Either way, it's very exciting! We'll definitely be in the Contemporary a good amount of time so I'll be as detailed as possible!

Yeah! Hahaha. I hope you can stay there someday! That'd be great. Oh my gosh yes, the location was a major factor in this decision! As you know, the All Stars are pretty far from everything, so if I was gonna stay Deluxe, I wanted to have the perks of the closeness to the parks and being able to take something other than the Disney busses... MONORAIL! :)

I so love the Crystal Palace! It's almost my favorite place to eat in the whole world! We always go before park opening so we get photos of an empty park.

Cute photos with the characters!

YAY on your next trip!:yay: The BLT is going to be amazing! I would love to be on the monorail!

You know what, I feel the same way! There's something so special about it that I just absolutely love! That's such a great idea. Actually, that was my reason for making the reservation at 8:05, but then it turned out to be an EMH morning. Darn! BUT, I already booked it for 8:05 for my summer trip, and made sure it wasn't an EMH morning, so I'll finally get my empty park pics! :yay:

Cute photos with the characters!

Aww thanks!

YAY on your next trip!:yay: The BLT is going to be amazing! I would love to be on the monorail!

I'm SO excited. I think it's gonna be awesome! YES THE MONORAIL! Hahaha I love it, I think it's gonna spoil me!

Yay!!!!! Congrats! Words cannot describe how jealous I am! When are you guys going?

Bay Lake Towers! Fancy schmancy. We have stayed at the Contemporary the past like 5 times. I love that it there and I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else. It's so convenient and nice and lovely!

In reply to your replies because I'm not that good at the quote thingies (I'm usually a lurker):

Yeah we have off the week for Christmas and New Year (usally its from December 24-January 2), then we have off a week in February (which today was my last day! woohoo :woohoo:), then we have off the week for Easter.

The funny part about the whole Big Thunder Mountain thing is that it is one of the only rollercoasters that I will actually go on and enjoy! I'm such a wimp. But it's okay because I'm a happy wimp.

I honestly don't know how my mother is sick of Disney. I think we should take her to a doctor.
The last time we went was this November 10-15. My brother and I went to school on my birthday (meh.) and then an hour after we got home we left for the airport. We landed at like 9 something and then we went to Universal. I know what your thinking OMG THIS GIRL AND HER FAMILY ARE CRAZY THEY WENT TO UNIVERSAL! But the only reason we went was for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It was one of the best and worst experiences. It was one of the worst becuase Universal SUCKED! The hotel smelled weird and Universal was gross and boring and lame. The Harry Potter part was so small and not at all what I thought it would be. The whole time I was anticipating Disney. It was one of the best because a.) Even though Harry Potter World was not at all what I expected it to be I mean it was still Harry Potter all recreated and tangable. I'm a HUGE Harry Potter nerd so like it was awsome !
b.) When we planned the trip/Harry Potter World we didn't know that the day we would be there would be the day that the DVD came out. That meant that a lot of the stars were there to promote the DVD release. At first we saw this as a huge downfall becuase it just made it more crowded. I just hoped that I would see one of them. Well I SAW RON! From like very far away but I saw him so it counts. I also saw Mr. Weasly and wait for it... LUNA!!! I seriously like died and it made my life. :goodvibes
Then we went to Disney. We did MGM (yes I still, and always will, call it MGM) and AK, the next day we went to MK, then the next we went to Epcot. The day we left we went to MK for a little while as well.

Wow. I wrote a lot. Woops. Well the whole point of that novel over there was to say that we went recently but it was super short and rushed. Not that I'm not saying I didn't have a good time, I mean how could I not it's Disney, I'm just saying that it went to quick and I didn't have enough time to soak it all in, ya know?
I hope that spiel sounds convincing becuase that's the argument I have to my mom!

BLT!! That's awesome! It'll be so beautiful and convenient and having the Monorail right there is great. I've never stayed at a Monorail resort, but I'm pretty sure it's fabulous.:goodvibes

(okay, I can't find when I last posted and I'm trying to protect my marshmallow fruit loops from my very shifty-eyed cat so I will assume that I did leave many witty and relevant comments, designed to make people laugh and move on to BLT, the sandwich resort)

Um, I LOVE the Contemporary. When I hear people complain about not liking them I want to SHAKE A FINGER AT THEM and then GIVE THEM A STERN LOOK. The Contemporary is, at bare minimum, 20% cooler than they could ever hope to be. It's Walt's hotel!!*

I mean, really. What more do you want from a place besides monorail transportation and a walkway to Magic Kingdom. SERIOUSLY. It could be, I don't know, Stitch's Great Escape theme and I'd still want to stay there!! (Go eat at the Wave for breakfast!! The sweet potato pancakes with their syrup taste like donuts!! Magic).

Hey, five can fit in Port Orleans! There's the cool pull out bed that I really, really want to try some time. But not really that much because it would mean giving up my king bed. NOPE.

Also I'm sitting here trying to figure out when 164 days is and then I realize your ticker has it in months. Oops.

* Comment may or may not be factual.

I love reading your trip report! and I'm REALLY jealous that you get to go back so soon...LOL. We were in Disney a week before but I know we won't be able to go back until sometime in 2013. Can't wait to read more aout your last trip and your next one!

I'm still here, I promise! I have been so sick the past WEEK, yes that's right WEEK. Ugh, I still have a mild fever today, but the past week has just kicked my butt. Anyways I have caught up and I love the pictures from Crystal Palace! They are adorable and I want to eat breakfast there now.

I am so jealous that you guys are staying at BLT!! How lucky are you?! That will be so much fun, and I would love to stay at a monorail resort just so I could ride the monorail ALL THE TIME. Yes, my friend I am a crazy monorail person too. :) I can't get enough. I even loved it as a child. There's a lovely home video at my grandparents house of a monorail ride where we had a whole car to ourselves so I took that as my cue to put on a concert for my family and sing Achey Breaky Heart by Billy Ray Cyrus.

Yay!!!!! Congrats! Words cannot describe how jealous I am! When are you guys going?

Thanks! Aww I'm sure you'll go again before you know it! We're going on July 29!

Bay Lake Towers! Fancy schmancy. We have stayed at the Contemporary the past like 5 times. I love that it there and I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else. It's so convenient and nice and lovely!

Hahah definitely fancy schmancy! Not the norm for me at all! I'm glad you enjoy the Contemporary, I personally think it's awesome too! We'll be spending a lot of time there for sure.

OH okay. That makes sense! So yall get the same amount of time off, just at different times! That's cool!

The funny part about the whole Big Thunder Mountain thing is that it is one of the only rollercoasters that I will actually go on and enjoy! I'm such a wimp. But it's okay because I'm a happy wimp.

Hahaha oh my gosh, you crack me up. I'm so glad you're a happy wimp. :rotfl:

Yeah, I really have no interest in Universal. Okay so don't hate me but I have no idea about Harry Potter! I literally know nothing about it besides like, Harry has a scar on his head or something. I'm sorry I'm sorry! I wish I knew what you were talking about. Either way it's really cool that you got to see some of the stars from the movie!

Wow. I wrote a lot. Woops. Well the whole point of that novel over there was to say that we went recently but it was super short and rushed. I hope that spiel sounds convincing becuase that's the argument I have to my mom!

I don't mind you writing a lot I promise! I'm sorry your last trip was too rushed! I understand. I hope yall get to go back soon! That just might work on her! To be honest one of the reasons my dad agreed to go back was if he could have a day to just chill at the resort and do nothing. So if your mom is sick of it, maybe she could do the same! :thumbsup2

BLT!! That's awesome! It'll be so beautiful and convenient and having the Monorail right there is great. I've never stayed at a Monorail resort, but I'm pretty sure it's fabulous.:goodvibes

Hahaha I totally get having to protect your food from your cat! My cat is an insane food hunter as well. Hahaha of course you leave witty and relevant comments. I very much enjoy them. I KNOW THOUGH, I find myself just wanting to type out the full Bay Lake Tower name, so as not to confuse people. :rotfl:

Um, I LOVE the Contemporary. When I hear people complain about not liking them I want to SHAKE A FINGER AT THEM and then GIVE THEM A STERN LOOK. The Contemporary is, at bare minimum, 20% cooler than they could ever hope to be. It's Walt's hotel!!*

I agree! I really don't get why people don't like it. I think it's awesome. I mean, hello. Have you ever stayed at hotel that had a MONORAIL running through it? THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT. :rotfl: It would even be awesome without the monorail. I will definitely be spending some time there! Oh I should eat at the Wave! Thanks for the suggestion!

Hey, five can fit in Port Orleans! There's the cool pull out bed that I really, really want to try some time. But not really that much because it would mean giving up my king bed. NOPE.

Wait, really? That's weird! The WDW website lied to me, apparently. :( For shame.

Also I'm sitting here trying to figure out when 164 days is and then I realize your ticker has it in months. Oops.

Hahaha well what can I say, I wanted to get an early start on the countdown. Sorry for the confusion hahaha!

Well thank you! I'm really glad you're reading along and enjoying! Aww, well the way time is flying around here, I'm sure you'll be back before you know it! Thank you again for reading and commenting, and YES, I'll be doing a TR for the next trip that I hope you'll enjoy as well! :goodvibes

Oh yay! I'm glad you're still here! I'm so sorry you were/are sick though. :( I hope you're fully recovered soon. And thank you! Oh my gosh, I agree. I mean it's almost dinner time but I could go for some Crystal Palace breakfast!

I am so jealous that you guys are staying at BLT!! How lucky are you?! That will be so much fun, and I would love to stay at a monorail resort just so I could ride the monorail ALL THE TIME. Aww, yeah, I feel incredibly lucky to be able to stay there! YES THE MONORAIL. I honestly think that I could just ride the loop around all night and be okay with it. I cannot WAIT! Oh my gosh! You were awesome from the start! Hahaha that's hilarious. And PERFECT song selection, I might add. :rotfl:

I gotta say, I'm kinda impressed that you've been able to take still pics out of your video and use as pictures. I don't think I've ever seen anyone do that. Kudos to you! That cuts down on taking pics AND video. Can't wait to read more! :surfweb: You're doing an awesome job! :thumbsup2

Before I continue, I thought I'd share the video from the beginning of Day 2!

If you remember my last video post, there were a few things I warned you about.

The same thing goes for this video... and more.

I got way too excited when I was filming the beginning, and it's ALL over the place. Please don't get seasick or anything! I apologize in advance.

It's still pretty fun, so I just thought I'd share.

Day 2 Video, Part 1!

Enjoy! :thumbsup2

The One With FUN and ADVENTURE. “Did Someone Say Adventure?”
Part 1!

December 15, 2011

“Well garsh, that was me!” :goofy:

After we had a delicious breakfast with our favorite friends from the Hundred Acre Wood, we set sail for adventure!

Adventureland, that is.

Insert tribal drum rhythms here.

SDC11215.jpg

We had planned to meet up with Jenelle after breakfast. However, we got a little… distracted. What distracted us? (Well, nobody should really be asking that question. We were at Disney World in the Magic Kingdom. I’m just trying to make things interesting here, yall.)

THIS DISTRACTED US!

SDC10686.jpg

The beautiful Magic Carpets of beautiful Aladdin. (The name is currently being changed.)

There was literally no line, so of course we had to ride! While the people who had ridden before us were getting off, who do you think we saw get off the ride? ALADDIN AND JASMINE! Ahhhh! They had just ridden the carpets before they started their meet and greet! I so wish I had a picture of this. We immediately decided that we had to go meet them after our ride on the carpets.

But for now it was TIME TO RIDE! WOOOO! (Glad I'm blinking.)

I know that ride is not the most thrilling, but it really is a lot of fun. Sally was in charge of the controller, and she would make us go really high and then we would DROP all of a sudden. It was like the Tower of Terror over there yall!

404598_10151077713670177_820575176_22144813_1002507333_n.jpg

Love those spitting camels.

SDC10688.jpg

We had a fun ride through Agrabah, so naturally we wanted to meet their most famous citizens! We got in the line to meet Aladdin and Jasmine, and I was actually a little bit nervous! Believe it or not, Aladdin and Jasmine were the first characters I ever met that could talk! So in line I was trying to think of what to say, and I really had no idea.

At the beginning of the trip, Sally, Amanda, and Kristen all bought the autograph books with Tinkerbell on them that sound like magic when you open them. (I really don’t know how to describe the noise, but it's a happy noise, similar to a DING but in a magical-like way. I’m sure there’s a very obvious name for the noise that I’m just totally blanking on right now.) So while I was standing there trying to decide what to say to the royal couple, Sally’s book started MAKING THE NOISE just by itself! It just kept making the noise over and over! It was so odd, but so funny!

When we were next in line, we heard Aladdin say this to a little boy:

“Sometimes parents don’t like the advice I give to kids, but hey, it’s all good, because look at me, I’m a prince now!”

:rotfl:

That ALADDIN. Oh, this is the part where I tell you that this Aladdin was perfect! He personified the cartoon character so well. He even had the VOICE down. Phenomenal. Phenomenal, I say!

Also, he had the boyish qualities of Aladdin. I’ve seen a lot of different ones in other TRs that look way too manly and tough. That’s not how Aladdin’s supposed to be! Anyways, needless to say I was very happy with him. We all loved him! Jasmine was beautiful, and great as well!

I had run out of time to try to think of something witty to say. It was our turn!

Look, we’re FLYING!

383659_10151077714640177_820575176_22144827_406426090_n.jpg

Oh, and what did I say to them? To be honest, I can't even remember! They were so sweet to all of us though. So even though I can't remember what we said, I do know that it was a great meet and greet!

We were all set to leave Agrabah and call Jenelle to meet up, but then we saw a Cast Member, standing in front of the Tiki Room, BLOWING BUBBLES.

I freaked out a little bit. AHHH BUBBLES! BUBBLES! MY BUBBLES! (Just picture the yellow fish from the Tank Gang in Finding Nemo, that will work.)

While I was standing there popping bubbles, I looked up at the beautiful blue sky and just basked in the warm Florida sun. I was SO happy. I said to the bubble blowing CM, “Are you sure it’s December?” I swear, nothing about that moment felt like December!

The One With FUN and ADVENTURE. "Did Someone Say Adventure?"
Part 2!

December 15, 2011

We decided to move on from bubble popping, so Amanda called Jenelle to tell her to meet us at Pirates!

Only, then we found ourselves standing in front of Pirates of the Caribbean with a five minute wait. OF COURSE WE WENT ON.

While we were heading into Pirates, who should we see coming outside for a meet and greet? PIRATE GOOFY! I yelled out, “GOOFY!!!!!” He turned and waved. It was a magical moment, obviously. I KNEW I had to meet him after our ride.

Remember when I said the wait was five minutes? It wasn’t even five seconds. We walked through the line and we were the only people there! We got our own boat! The Cast Member originally put us in rows 1 and 2, but then he told us to get in rows 2 and 3 instead, to even out the boat.

402084_10151077715210177_820575176_22144833_107599211_n.jpg

They were excited to ride.

The first thing we noticed was that they instead of Davy Jones appearing in the misty water, it’s now Blackbeard. I didn’t really like that! I know they updated it to go along with the newest movie, but in my opinion that wasn’t really necessary. Davy Jones made it a lot more eerie, and that was more fitting with the theme of the ride. Oh well, it’s still a cool feature.

SDC12447.jpg

Okay, so do yall know the part of Pirates where there's a thunderstorm and the pirates are shooting cannons at each other? Well I was sitting there with my mouth wide open, clearly mesmerized by the wonder that is Pirates of the Caribbean, and this splash of water comes right at me and GETS IN MY MOUTH! BLEH. Yall, that water may smell good but the taste is NOT to my liking!

My natural response was to yell, “AHHHHHHH it got in my MOUTH!”

Apparently Ryan thought that was HILARIOUS. Hahahaha who knows, really? Such shenanigans ensue on Pirates.

I really love that ride. DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES, DUH.

Here’s something that’s not so classic, but still very awesome.

After our ride, we decided that the pirate life was NOT for us. But we still wanted to meet a certain tall dog that was dressed like one! PIRATE GOOFY TIME! We got in the very short line and were soon joined by Jenelle!

I love Goofy.

After meeting Goofy, we decided to make our way to the hub in time to catch a certain castle show!

We saw Captain Jack's Pirate Tutorial going on, and we would have stopped to watch, but we didn't want to miss the show!

Then we walked by a long line of people waiting to meet THE ROYAL COUPLE TO END ALL ROYAL COUPLES: ARIEL AND ERIC. Oh dear Lord. HOW I WANTED TO MEET THEM. Sadly, it was not meant to be. The line was already cut off. NEXT TIME.

Along the way, I spotted something on the ground that looked like Mickey, so of course I picked it up. IT WAS MICKEY! Only, I had little to no clue what it actually was. I later learned that it was a JIBBIT that you decorate CROCS with. Hahaha oh okay. I lost it anyway. On purpose. (I really had no use for it, what can I say?)

Now it’s time for me to show you random pictures and provide awkward commentary on said pictures.

One… is the loneliest number that you’ll ever choose?

I’m not really sure what’s happening there. Let’s move on.

Aint she a beaut?

This picture looks weird to me! I don't know why.

Ahh look, my hero!

Some very playful chipmunks!

After the random picture taking, we claimed an awesome spot in front of the castle and awaited the beginning of Dream Along with Mickey! I was excited for this show because I had never actually seen it, but I knew all the words and music because I’ve had it on my iPod forever.

I just have to say that we really enjoyed this show! I’m glad we got to watch it. I would recommend it to anyone who’s never watched it before. It’s really cute, has some catchy music, a happy ending, and it isn’t too long that you feel like you’re wasting precious Magic Kingdom time. YAY!

So, to recap the trip so far: basically we’ve only been to the Magic Kingdom.

THIS was the time we decided it was best to venture to another park. After all, there are FOUR of them! So we headed down Main Street to the exit to make our way to our second park of the day… but NOT our last! ;)
