YOAMD Postcards and Winners

Are some of you entering minors? I was going to put DD and DS on my post cards if I could. Also is is one per person per day or one per household per day?

Hi, I'm new to this thread! I just filled out my first 10 post cards today, and plan to mail them during the next 2 weeks. Unfortunately I trimmed them! I hope I can still mail them!

Hey look, I'm quoting myself! I am so OCD that I found the trimmings from the above mentioned postcards, and taped them back on, making them regulation USPS postcard size. Now I'll win for sure!

It's one per person per day and yes you can send them in for your kids!

I have been religious about sending in since Dec. 19th and nothing has come yet in 08. Maybe they are just waiting to send me one of the big prizes?:confused3

Hang in there... you still might win something!

We have sent in over 120 cards at this point (starting in May 2007) and all we have won are two sets of ears, and they came in late January 2008.

There are people that have won multiple sets of lanyards and ears, it must just simply be pure luck!:wizard:

Like I said it is well over 120 sent in (for the three of us) at this point... and only myself, and son, have won one set of ears each (the prizes came on the same day)... hubby never has!

Does anyone know how long after you've sent in your card you can win? I've been sending them in a few each week since Dec 2007. At what point do you think you can give up on an entry? Does that make any sense? :confused3

If I were only to send in 1 card today and that's it, how much time would you think it would take to win or not win on that entry?

Has anyone won anything besides ears and lanyards? TIA

I just received the blue hat with white ears.

That makes 2 lanyards/pins and 2 sets of ears for us.

80 post cards sent in.

Ok quick question about all this:

Does anyone happen to know if you have 4 people in your family can you stick all your entry cards in one envelope to enter for all of you or do you have to mail them each as an individual?

We have 4 in our family and have decided that we want to try to win some magic in the down time between park visits.
We just can't get enough DISNEY!
I don't drink coffee but when it comes to DISNEY and the MOUSE I feel like I have had 50 cups of coffee and just can't get enough!!!:surfweb:

I am having Disney withdrawls!!! :scared1:

Thanks for the help.

There is someone on the DVC boards that posted they won a DVC contract by mailing in postcards. So there is hope of more than hats and lanyards. Although I'd be happy with a hat.:goodvibes

They must each be sent individually.

Last year someone said that Disney was behind by about 3 months in sending out packages. I imagine after winners are drawn it takes quite awhile to sort the prizes and send them all out. You may have won and not even know it yet. :)

I have seen people say it is a month, and other times three months, so I don't really know. :confused3

What I do know is that we sent over 100 postcards and didn't win anything until January 2008. We received two pairs of Mickey Ears on the same day (son and I). :goodvibes

It is now March, and there are about 25 unused postcards left... which means I have sent a total of 125 in since last Spring, and out of 125 we have had two wins only!:upsidedow

It is simply "luck of the draw"!

Gosh it makes me sad we almost every month we sent in 100 cards. Now or (RUDE) post office is telling us the postage is going up in may so they can't get anymore cards. Because they can only get them in bulks of 250. Which we went to another near by (Not as close) to get more postcards and when my mom asked if they would be running out too. She said that if they do they can get more. My mom told her what our post office said and she gave my mom a weird look and said they can order any amount they want.

I dislike our post office even more. :l

But anyways I've been trying to send out every day 6 for my family. I have a bad feeling we won't win anything. I hope my grandma does though since she always says about how we have no "goodluck."

I just started sending in postcards for the 2008 YOAMD Giveaway this week. I am sending 3 cards a day (1 for myself, 1 for my DD, 1 for my DH). I am keeping my fingers crossed for a big win!!

We are going to start mailing them in also. I never even thought about doing this until I heard on another podcast about the guy who won the DVC membership. I know the odds are slim on the big prizes but I would love to win anything! My DH bought some postcards today so we will be filling them out this weekend.

So I have this giant post card collection that I have never done anything with... and after listening to the podcast, I thought why not? So I will be sending out one a day for both myself and DH. Who knows?? I would be excited for well, just about anything, and of course a DVC membership too. :rotfl:

READ THE RULES CAREFULLY!
I just went back and realized it specifically says HAND WRITEN- opps! I just printed out 40 postcards with our info on it (8 for each of us!) What a waste of paper and printer toner--ug.
Good luck everyone!!!!!
