Ok, my mom sent me this little number today. Seems appropriate for Ami et al....

The Friendship Prayer

May the fleas of a thousand camels infest the cr*tch of the person who screws up your day and may their arms be too short to scratch... Amen.

Sorry I if I offended anybody.

After my dad has his triple bypass, he was proud of his "zipper". Looks like we got an industrial-size zipper there.

Holy cow. Just got back from our rained-out Cub Scout Day Camp. We did activities for a couple of hours and then the weather hit. I had six 2nd and 3rd grade boys, 60mph winds, monsoon rain (literally). I was laying across the backs of these boys just trying to keep debris off of them. My phone totally fried. We finally got to the storm shelter after a bunch of hefty workmen literally picked up my boys and our wagon and carried them there. We had crying scouts everywhere. All our stuff is blown to smithereens. We were supposed to have 3 more days of camp - but there may be nothing left. $85 bucks per kid, gone with the wind.

At least they are all safe and home now. And of course, it's quite nice outside in the aftermath.

My DD was at Hawaiian Falls in Garland when the first wave of that storm blew through. I got rather soaked going to my car at lunch, then later again in the second wave when I left to pick DD from the church after Hawaiian Falls. We also have about 30 feet of fence flat on the ground now at home.

Well only 3 more work days till the WEEKEND!!!!!

It seems like their government would have them stoned to death for wasting precious resources like video tape on something like that.....the guy who wrote the subtitles is one sick puppy!!! I dont care what country youre from...thats some funny stuff!!

Back when this hardware was installed there was a 6 inch incision on the outside of my right ankle and a 3 inch incision on the inside. The surgeon didn't use a single stitch or staple. He held it together with surgical superglue and tape. Still have some impressive scars.

Ready to strangle my kid!!!!!!

My youngest has been out of school since early May and has worked 1 day all summer. One of my DHs customers works for the staffing agency that hires the folks that set up for concerts and events at our Civic Center. (Meaning free admission to some potentially really cool concerts, sporting events, and fights).

My son talks to her a couple of weeks ago, but she didn't have any openings then.

She calls yesterday, and son is sleeping all day with his phone off. She calls my DH at work to let us know she has an opening. I'm home for lunch and tell my son, and he is really blase about calling her back, but I guess he finally does and has an appointment this morning at 8am.

Goes to the appointment, gets hired, but tells the lady he can't start till next week!!! :faint:

Believe me, this kid has NOTHING to do, he just doesn't want to work :furious:

The staffing lady calls DH and tells him this, and DH informs her my son can start tomorrow.

So at least he now has a job, but only because we stepped on his head and made him. :confused3

That glue is pretty incredible, I think. I had weight loss surgery almost a year ago...they made 6 incisions and removed my my stomach through one of them. Not a single stitch, all glue. one of the incisions seperated but it healed darn near flawlessly. the "scars" are nothing more than minor skin discolorations now.

I was really surprised when I discovered that there wasn't a single stitch. I think the swelling in my ankle probably had some affect on the degree of scarring and is probably part of the reason they are as visible as they are.

It was a real trip when the doc removed the hardware. He just made a tiny incision above each screw head and backed the screws out, another incision at the top and bottom of the plate and pushed it out. I could even feel the screws as they backed out of the bone. He only had me on a local and mild sedative during the removal so I was pretty aware of everything that went on.
