Yikes! June hours are pitiful...

Park ticket prices certainly have gone up and travel is supposedly going well again... So why the crummy park hours for June? I know I am getting on my soapbox but the MK closing at 10pm all through June is unacceptable. What's the deal?

To survive the summer heat and crowds, you need to leave the parks for the afternoon and come back in the evening. This is hard to do when the park closes by 10pm. What's the deal? Even last summer the hours were longer!

I think you'll find the schedule to work out!! It actually doesn't look that bad. Try to take advantage of 1 or 2 E nights, and it should all come together for you.

Sure...you aren't shelling out enough for the trip already, help Eisner out and pay the the extra $$$ for a couple E-nights.
Maybe pretty soon they'll close early every night so they can scam us for e-nights 7 nights a week...

the hours are better for the first week of June than they were last year. Last year, MK closed at 7:00 on the first Friday in June. It was also an E-ride night.

And, FWIW, you don't HAVE to leave in the afternoon to survive. We had no problems last year when we stayed in the parks all day. There are plenty of indoor attractions for cooling off when you need to. You just need to to remember to drink lots of water to stay hydrated.

Personally, I'm fine with June hours. Even if we took a three hour break in the afternoon we'd still have 10 hours of park time. Plenty of time for everything if you make good use of fastpass.

If you check the historical data in this site...the hours last year were not as great as this year. Not only does MK have longer hours, but so does AK.

Just keep in mind that hours are always subject to change and I've seen them change (longer) days before arriving. Also, keep in mind that when the hours are extended to longer times, it's usually because the attendance is projected to be high. So it's a no win situation. We are going mid-July and will have the same hours.

Last year's hours were MUCH shorter and we had plenty of time to do it all. Your trip is what you make it. If you go with a negative attitude about hours and money, you will have a negative experience. We LOVE Disney and I just don't worry about park hours.

HunnyPots is right--we were there the same time last year and MK closed at 8 pm three nights, 10 pm two nights and 7 pm on a Friday night!! Have you checked the WDW site lately? Disney recently changed park hours and added Spectromagic every night for the second week in June. There also a few nights that a second Spectromagic was added.

I think June hours are good for Magic Kingdom compared to last year.
We were there last June & there were times MK closed at 7pm for E-nights!!!
I thought those were really short hours!

I don't remember when we were there MK closing at 11:00pm last year, but this year it will be open until 11pm at least 5 times when we are there!

I guess last summer we were there LATER in June; I know we were at the MK real late a few nights. I probably WILL NOT spend money on the E-nights. I have shelled out a ton for Annual passes for 4 people. Hunny, bless you, you have stamina. NO way my group would make it all afternoon. After about 4 hours my kids BEG for the pool... And no, I am NOT having a negative attitude. Far from it... I LOVE Disney. I am just remembering going every summer when I was a kid, and we were at the MK 'til 1am. It was magical! Being there late, and hanging around til closing, was great. We'd get back to Ft. Wilderness and collapse, we were so tired... Wish it was like that again. We are not early risers, and we love it when the MK is open late.

We go to WDW some "off" times and I expect the parks will be closing early. But to me, the summertime is when the parks --especially the MK - -should be open late. Not a $ issue as I have the AP's, just sadly remembering how it USED to be!

I just looked at the WDW site and it changed the hours for the second week of June when we are there and on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday of that week they are open until 11 p.m. Am I looking at that correctly? If so that is awesome! Does anyone know if they added more Spectromagic days for that week? I can't locate that schedule, where can it be found? Thanks!

The e-nights cost 12.00 per person, the early entry for onsite guests in the morning is free.

Personally I am happy with the hours, the MK closing at 10:00 is fine and will give us plenty of time.
I have my park guides from 1995 for the week of July 4th, and the hours this year for the same time-frame are quite similar.

To the OP, you also have to remember that years ago when the parks were open later that there were fewer parks and other things to do at night. Now, with MGM and AK, DQ, Cirque,PI,DTD, not to mention hanging out at your resort, they don't have to stay open later.

As far as not paying for E-nights, well that's your decision to make. It was a win-win situation for both Disney and WDW resort guests. Disney can make more cash and WDW resort guests can experience the park and some attractions without the crowds. It doesn't mean the lines will be shorter, but the ambience of the park without 50k other guests there is priceless.....If being at the park late was so magical to you then what is 12 dollars.......
