I have rooms booked at the Grosvenor in DTD for our trip in early December, but have been hearing some not so nice stuff about the Grosvenor. My sister really wants to stay there so we can walk over to the MarketPlace....Does anyone know if it is a reasonably easy walk from the Wyndham to the Market Place? About how long of a walk?

Also would appreciate any opinons on the Wyndam itself.

Thanks!

Theres awebsite. www.downtowndisneyhotels.com I have never stayed there but have heard mixed reviews but you can get that everywhere. I hear the tower rooms are best. We stayed at the DTD doubletree guest suites and got a great rate from mousesavers.com for 89 a night including breakfast. We went for 2 weeks in May. The room was nice, clean, no issues and lots of room. The pool was nice to it doesnt have all the Disney touches but it was great for us on that trip we are returning on Dec of this year to the beach club for 2 weeks thru xmas
Good Luck !

It's been a while, but we enjoyed our two night stay there. The hotel was pretty nice and very close to DTD. We'd stay there again.

Don't cancel the Grosvener! It was great and a perfect location when we were there in January!!! There have been alot more positive postings about this hotel in the past few months. Most of the negatives I read were from folks who hadn't been there in a very long time.

The convenience, bus service, staff, and rooms were just what we wanted. The fireworks were great and the price is right. Book a tower room and enjoy yourself.

You asked about the Wyndham- the only thing I actually heard or saw from my trip was that they had good bus service- they shared our bus at the Grosvener, but only 1 person was staying there if any on our rides.

Grovesnor is nice and convient to DTD (short 2 walk diagnally across the street from it). It has been awhile since I was last there but it was a nice place to stay with basic clean rooms. We went for the Murder Mystery show in Dec. 2002 and even though the show is a bit corny, it was fun.

As for Wyndham, well I had one night there last November before my FTP was to begin. This hotel is very nice. I bid on priceline and won this one for $70. I checked in early, was placed in a mini suite, enjoyed the recreation island and DTD was directly across the street. I think that you'll be happy staying at either place.

We stayed at the Wyndham a couple of months ago for 2 nights. We thought the walk to DTD was too long if the weather was at all inclement (I would not walk in the heat of the summer, that's for sure)--about half a mile.

The hotel lobby and pool area are beautiful, the rooms are just average. There is a $10 resort fee and another daily $10 fee if you want to use high-speed internet access.

The bus service was fine on the weekend and lousy on the weekday we stayed there. The food service (restaurants and a little marketplace) were VERY expensive. All in all, we would stay there again if we won it at a bargain price on Hotwire, but for $89 and up, I would rather stay onsite (or offsite at a hotel with a refrigerator and micorwave).
