WWYD? offered free upgrade

has the reservation change shown up in anyone's "My Disney Vacation" on WDW's website?

That's fine, I don't need to be right next door to my parents anyway. I just wanted to make sure we were all at the same resort. For some reason they have us booked as a Grand Gathering even though there are only 7 of us, and the CM said that is to make sure that they keep us all near each other, at least in the same building.

Is there such a thing as a preferred location at OKW? Since we had a preferred room on our original reservation, I was wondering if that made any difference in the upgrade.

Irishhockey: The email stated that it was sent to people who booked a value between 8/26 and 9/01. Unless free dining sells out for the following week as well, I doubt they will expand the arrival dates. But you never know!!

They don't really have preferred, but as any resort, the closer you can get to the main building is the better. I would at least try to get a building near a pool. We have a reservation at OKW for mid-August for a 2 bedroom, and it will be our first time there, though we have seen the rooms when friends are there. Everyone wants to be at hospitality house, but, unfortunately not everyone can be, so I'm at least hoping for a pool close by.

thank u so much for you're encouraement, it paid off. I called the CM back and she was so nice (shout out to Letisha) and she booked my inlaws a 1 br villa @ SSR under my pin code!! We are so excited!! I am the best daughter-in-law ever!! They said they bow down to me. My fil said he was excited for us yesterday about getting the upgrade but his bubble had been busted cause we were not staying together. Now, he said it has been lifted back up!!! Here we come SSR!!!

DH called and the CM on the phone was excited for us! They would not upgrade inlaws.

DH took the 1 bdrm at SSR! He said he couldnt pass that up.

His parents understood. They are ok with it.

Wow, I am also at ASMU for free dining. There are giving out free upgrades??? I haven't heard about this yet. Did they say why this is being done...are they overbooked at the All stars??? I probably wouldn't go if the whole family couldn't do it. Like you said maybe they will get an email too.

I've been watching this thread today (I have so much to do but this is much more entertaining). Just wondering and thinking about patterns. Did this offer go to any of the folks who booked their free DDP reservation through the Bounce Back Program or our UK friends who booked last year for this promotion. Or did this offer only go to folks who booked when it was offered through the general public or Visa holders. It would be interesting to see if there was a connection with any of these different groups.

I called this morning to see if the free upgrade was available for our reservation and even though they checked under every name/phone number in our household...we weren't eligible. But guess what happened! My SIL found out she had the email offer and since we were traveling together (separate reservations numbers) they let us use the code too!!! I can't believe it -- a room @ OKW and free DDP for less than $100/night. I'm so excited I'm shaking!!!

Laura -- You should call back. My SIL had the pin but we didn't...since we had it in the reservation notes that we were traveling together, they let both of us have the free upgrade. Guest Services had to approve it.

I'm kind of in the same situation except that my family hasn't booked there vacation yet. They are going to make their minds up today. I went and accepted the free upgrade because I knew that it would be one of those "once in a lifetime" expeirence. How does your family feel about you switching resorts? MY Inlaws and I don't get along very well so this may have affected my choice. My best advise is to talk to them and then make your choice. They are filing up quickly so I would decide soon.

Can't Wait.... we have a grand gathering booked from Aug 26-sept 1. 21 people 6 rooms total and two of our party got emails yesterday they booked us all in 1br's at saratoga. All this and free dining its just is unreal. I hope they don't go out of business before we get there cuz they have to be losing money on this deal..lol we are saving close to 10,000 dollars on this offer. Not that we could have afforded to stay here but atleast we get to live like kings for a week. Good Luck to everyone still trying and thanks to everyone for all the info

I called to make a payment on on ressie (9/21-10/1) and just for the heck of it asked about the upgrades coming out, if there was a chance I could be upgraded at my time. He said you never know, just keep watching your computer

As excited as I am about our upgrade 1 bdroom at OKW for 13 nites I can't help but wonder how crowded this is going to make the parks. All of us that got the upgrade are rooms at the value are now going to be open for more people to book over labor day. My DH keeps reminding me that the dis boards are just a small % of people who recieved the e-mail. I wonder how many were sent out. Anybody eles thought about this?
