WWE'S Chris Benoit and his family found dead!

I think his other kids live in Canada with their mom. He was from Canada. I am glad Vince came out last night and stopped that whole vinces is dead story line it was so dumb.

Last night was not the first show he had cancelled this past week. He had cancelled a show on Saturday and Sunday as well. While we don't know wether or not he was a "no show" or had called in to cancel I think the suspension was there before 11pm last night.

I don't fault WWE for showing the tribute but I am personally sickened myself to know now that I felt so sorry for him that someone would take his life, in tears watching the show, only to find out now that he may have been the one to kill them all.

Whatever happens I feel for the Beniot family and god bless that little boy.

This is really sad. My DS has met Benoit a few times and keeps asking us if we know what happened yet. He was very friendly with fans and his friends thought he was a great guy. DS just said at least he'll be in eth Hall of Fame next year like Eddie. If he did this, I doubt he will. I keep hoping maybe theres some mistake in the rumor mill. It doesn't look like theres going to be though...

WWE has had tributes for all wrestlers who have passed. The one for Eddie was very emotional. This one was not so much. Only a few personal statements from friends and clips of some of his old matches.

I thought it was a murder suicide early on.. The fact that he canceled his appearance last night unexpectedly tipped me off

Maybe I'm cynical after working with the mentally ill for so many years, but I was almost positive it was murder-suicide the moment I read about it. That poor little boy...I hope he didn't know what was happening and went quickly.:sad1:

I was shocked and sickened to hear about this last night. I've always HATED wrestling myself but my son and hubby do watch sometimes and I know enough of wrestling to know who Chris Benoit is/was.

I don't care what happened between him and his wife - there is NO REASON WHATSOEVER to end someone else's life EVER - and not only did he end his life and his wife' but his own son's life too.

I just can't grasp the reality of that.

So senseless :sad2:

I'm not really familiar with the whole wrestling thing, but know so many people here are really upset about this situation and are waiting for news.

I was glancing at TMZ's website and they're reporting that Atlanta law enforcement officials have told them that Benoit strangled his wife, smothered his son, then hung himself in the family home's weight room. I cannot imagine anyone being driven to such horrible, awful actions. :sad1: I guess if this report is accurate, that's why they were able to label it as a murder-suicide so quickly and made mention that no gun was used.

Not suprised - when we first heard this news last night and they said "no gun was used", DH said "he's a big guy, I bet he strangled them."

Still sickened by this whole thing. :sad2:

This whole situation is horrible. Did he take steroids?
I wonder what would make someone kill their wife and child.

I'm sure if WWE had known what really happened they wouldn't have done a 3 hour tribute to him.

Just terrible.

That's the 64 million dollar question!!!

I don't think I'll ever understand why even if he left a note telling why - it's just so senseless.

What could of been so HORRIBLE that he thought he had to end everyone's lives - unfortunately we will never know.

Very sad story. My first thought was a break in or something then a murder/suicide.

I wonder if his dw was planning on leaving him or something to make him react in such a way. So sorry about the little boy. I believe the other children are his from a previous relationship so they might be with that mother. (not for sure, but I thought someone mentioned that).

Yes the other children are from a previous relationship and were not living with Beniot at the time.

I heard about this early last night. I didn't realise there were so many wrestling fans around here or I would've posted then.

DH is a huge fan and actually helps his friend run a local wrestling promotion here. His friend is a wrestler, so we heard really early.

I can't imagine that some of the wrestlers (especially Chavo or Dean) didn't know that something was up. Chavo had spent the week before with the family at there home.

DH said that the WWE has information the police won't let them release.

I kept thinking it was unbelievable that they completely canceled last night's show and did not allow fans in the arena. They've NEVER done that before.

DH and his friend watched the show together last night. I told them then that one of them went crazy and killed the other two, but we were really hoping it was some kind of accident.

I don't blame the WWE for doing the tribute, but based on a few of the wrestlers "tributes" I really think they knew more. William Regal's really stood out to me.

I saw on the news that "someone in the WWE" was receiving "strange" text messages from Chris and that's why the police were sent to investigate.

What did he say?

I thought John Cena's was a bit bizarre myself.

I read on one of the news stories that said CHAVO was the one getting text messages from Benoit and one said "thanks and goodbye."

He said something to the effect of "All I will say at this moment is that he was a great wrestler." It was very short (longer than just that sentence, but still short.

I missed Cena's.

The WWE has all but disassociated with Benoit. The only thing left up on the website is a single article, his merchandise has been pulled from their shop and his superstar page has been taken down. Any pictures and videos that were there last night have also been removed.

It's not looking real good. Honestly I refuse to point the finger and spout hatred towards him though. If nothing else I just feel pity. I've been down in a pit where I thought that suicide was my only way out. I was saved. I'm sorry that he wasn't. I'm sorry that he was so deep that he felt that his life wasn't the only one that needed taking. I'm sorry for his wife and children and pray they didn't suffer.

My heart is very heavy today, just like last night but in a different way. This morning I got up somewhere inbetween anger and grief, and I'm still inbetween there now. It's something that I'll never understand.

Benoit_and_Guerrero_celebrate_at_WrestleMania_XX.jpg

For those that don't know that's benoit on the left and his best friend Eddie(also deceased) on the right. The night of wrestlemania XX when they both became champions.

Here's a little more news for you all...
FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. (June 26) - Details of the deaths of pro wrestler Chris Benoit, his wife and their 7-year-old son may seem "a little bizarre" when released to the public, a prosecutor said

Authorities were investigating the deaths at a secluded Fayette County home as a murder-suicide and were not seeking any suspects outside the home.

Fayette County District Attorney Scott Ballard told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, "The details, when they come out, are going to prove a little bizarre."

Those details may emerge after the completion of autopsies scheduled for Tuesday.

Investigators believe Benoit, (pronounced ben-WAH,) killed his wife and son over the weekend and then himself sometime Monday. The bodies were found Monday afternoon in three different rooms of the house on Green Meadow Lane, in a subdivision off a gravel road about two miles from Whitewater Country Club.

The autopsies were scheduled to be done at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab in DeKalb County.

Ballard told The Associated Press a gun was not used in any of the deaths. But he declined to say how the three died

"We're pretty sure we know, but we want to confirm it with the crime lab," Ballard said early Tuesday.

Fayette County Coroner C.J. Mowell did not immediately return phone calls. The answering service for his funeral home said he was out of town.

World Wrestling Entertainment said on its Web site that it asked authorities to check on Benoit and his family after being alerted by friends who received "several curious text messages sent by Benoit early Sunday morning."

Pope said the three were found about 2:30 p.m., but he would release no other details about the deaths.

Stamford, Conn.-based WWE also said on its Web site it had further information on the deaths of Benoit, 40; his wife, Nancy, 43; and son, Daniel, but had been asked by authorities not to release it.

Benoit, a native of Canada, was born in Montreal. He was a former world heavyweight champion, Intercontinental champion and held several tag-team titles over his career. He was known by several names including "The Canadian Crippler."

"WWE extends its sincerest thoughts and prayers to the Benoit family's relatives and loved ones in this time of tragedy," the federation said in a statement on its Web site.

Benoit was scheduled to perform at the "Vengeance" pay-per-view event Sunday night in Houston, but was replaced at the last minute because of what announcer Jim Ross called "personal reasons."

Benoit maintained a home in metro Atlanta from the time he wrestled for the defunct World Championship Wrestling.

The WWE canceled its live "Monday Night RAW" card in Corpus Christi, Texas, and USA Network aired a three-hour tribute to Benoit in place of the scheduled wrestling telecast.

Benoit's wife managed several wrestlers and went by the stage name, "Woman," The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

They met when her then-husband drew up a script that had them involved in a relationship as part of an ongoing story line on World Championship Wrestling, the newspaper said.

Benoit has two other children from a prior relationship.

I read another report that the weapon was found in the home which made them suspect that it was a Murder/suicide.((which would point to it not being strangelation))

I am also curious what is so Bizarre?

Benoit was supposedly found in his weightroom (as mentioned in another post)

I'm pretty positive the text came to either Chavo or Melinko.(Benoits 2 best friends left)

I was hopeing this was not the case as I heard the news yesterday...but had a bad gut feeling that it was. He left a house show on saturday due to pesonal reasons...then didn't make the ppv...I thought nothing of it...thinking that something happened with a family mamber(happens all the time in the biz) then once I saw that he and his family were dead....my jaw hit the floor and I knew bad news was about to be comming.

It's sad that one of the greatest wrestlers I have even seen is going to have his legacy tainted (for me at least) by this horrendous act. In my book there is no excuse to harm anyone espically a child.

I will fondly remember his matches and him as an enertainer, but will always think of him as a man who snapped in real life much like his ring persona could do at any minute.

Sad indeed....Nancy and Daniel deserved better.

Rest in Peace Daniel, and Nacy, and may you be forgiven Benoit for what you have allegedly done.

He said something to the effect of "All I will say at this moment is that he was a great wrestler." It was very short (longer than just that sentence, but still short.

I missed Cena's.

Cena's was just weird. It was long. And he kept saying things that sounded mean, then he'd realize it, and try to take it back. Things like "you would never say I love you to Chris", or "he wouldn't put up with any s***".

I read on one of the news stories that said CHAVO was the one getting text messages from Benoit and one said "thanks and goodbye."

Did you see Chavo's tribute?

He went on about how he had stayed at the house with the family just a few days before and how super close they were. I think it has to be either Chavo or Dean getting the messages.

I just feel so awful for Chavo. First losing Eddie and now this. It's just so so horrible.
