WWE'S Chris Benoit and his family found dead!

Wow you know when they first reported the news on WWE this NEVER entered my mind. Wow...... at first I thought somone murdered all of them, then maybe something else like Carbon Monoxide but NEVER in a million years would I have thought this. Prayers for his family.

I thought it was a murder suicide early on.. The fact that he canceled his appearance last night unexpectedly tipped me off

I'm still awake mulling over how to tell DS about this. He really liked this guy and the fact that he's suspected of killing family members and himself is really going to shake him up. Unbelievable. :(

It looks like the wife and son were killed Friday and Chris apparently killed himself Monday. Autopsies on all three are scheduled for today (Tuesday)....:(

I guess more details will come later.....perhaps a note or someone who knew what was going on will come forward. So far, no neighbor interviews have popped up on the morning news-radio station.

Another update.

The Fayette DA says that when the details come out, they will prove to be "bizarre".

Also, there was no gun involved.

Police went to the home on Monday to perform a welfare check on the family at the request of WWE, as Benoit missed his weekend commitments. That's how the scene was discovered.

I'm finding this all very confusing, why in heaven's name would he do this? If he did what is now suspected, he killed his wife one day, his son the next and then himself. I'm so very upset by it.

I'm personally still struggling with this a lot. It haunted my dreams last night. Both my fiance and I were big Benoit fans and neither of us can really settle this in our minds. The stories all have little but important differences (who was killed when, who called to have the police check...) so I don't really know what to believe right now.

To the person that was sickened by just watching a tribute to him and this happened? I'm so sorry you feel that way. But remember, what he is suspected of (emphasis on suspected) doesn't invalidate the amazing things in wrestling he did. His friends and fans did not know him as this person that would do something like this, and they're hurting. They're probably hurting that much more now that they're finding this out. And if they want to pay tribute to the great things he did in life, then more power to them!

How tragic for his family. :sad2:

I agree with the person who said now they were sickened by the tribute. Of course facts were (and still are) unknown when the tribute was broadcast, and I doubt it would have been so glowing had they had more info. That would be like a tribute to OJ.

Murder suicide is the first thing that crossed my mind. So very sad! I really liked him!
I hope his wife and son went quickly and didn't have time to realize what was happening, especially his son.
My thoughts and prayers are with their family, :sad1:

The tribute doesn't sicken me. All they knew at the time was that three people were dead and I doubt that it ever occurred to anyone that Chris could have done all of this. Once the facts come out then we'll see. It's horrible no matter what happened.

To those who knew him they will continue to grieve for him of course but IF he murdered his wife and child he should not have been honored for three hours on national TV.

I totally agree!

This is very upsetting!

It's shame that is the cause of death. Very dad for everyone. :sad2:

But c'mon on. At the time of the show they didn't know how they died.
There was no blood or guns which is usually the case for suicide.
They had to do that tribute for him.n If they died of carbon monoxide poisining the WWE would have been critized for carrying on with the show.

Monday Night Raw is a live show they had to decide right away.

IF is a big word in this, isn't it? We don't know what happened yet, just a bunch of rumors and speculation. I seriously and sincerely doubt the WWE even imagined he would have done something like that. A good chunk of this information was released after 11 PM.

I stand by my thoughts that whether or not he did do this, it doesn't invalidate the amazing career that he had. But my opinion is my own, and I have always been a Chris Benoit fan.

I am sorry. I didn't know him but my son watched as did my son in law and even my 6 year old grandson is a wrestling fanatic..They all liked him and those who watched were very moved by the tributes. I, however, heard someone address other children and speak about what a great man he was. Great men don't murder their family. Sad, yes. He may have lost his mind (steroids or otherwise) and may not have known what he was doing. As you said maybe those paying tribute did not know there was the possibility he had killed them. IF they did, a tribute was disgraceful. IMO.

The rumor I heard being kicked around last night was the carbon monoxide poisoning thing. I honestly believe that the WWE (and I'm no fan of that organization) had no idea what had happened. As it is, no one knows for sure even now.

my DH was watching RAW last night and it was all about him. Sad they are saying it was a murder suicide with him killing his wife and son. I cant imagine what made him do that.

This is sad news. So far the police said the results will be bizare. I wonder what that could be. No matter what people think of WWE, i thought Chris Benoit to always perform at a higher level than most and it showed . My thoughts and prayers to the family.

No they said only said they were not shot. DH and I are confused. Did he have just the one child or two?

My sister who is avid WWE said that he had 3 children. 2 others who were not killed. Don't know where they were.

I think things will be more clear to the fans and the general public as soon as the police finish their investigation. Right now everything else seems to be rumors about this or that.
