Evening to all.

Just got back from my very first WW meeting and I am very excited. Leaning towards trying the CORE plan and hoping to post results next week......

By the way how many of you do CORE and how many of you use Flex Points. What do you like and not like about the plan.

Thanks!!

Have a magical Disney Day!!

I do flex. I love everything about it. I can eat what I want as along as I account for the points. Of course, I tend to lean towards the healthier foods so I can eat more!

Good luck!

I have been doing the Core plan for awhile. I like it because I am terrible about not planning my meals and keeping track of my Points. At first the weight came off rather quickly, but it has slowed down now. It has also gone up a little 3 times then back down since January (like when DH and I went to Vegas for a week! :scared1:

But, the bottom line is it's working for me, and the flex points system never did.

I can report a loss this week!! 2.8 pounds. I've been struggling the past 3 weeks with gaining and losing the same pound. I finally got over the hurdle and am back on the downward trend! My total is 21 pounds since January 5th.

I am happy to report I am 3.4 lbs lighter today! This was my 2nd week, for a total of 8.8 lbs gone. I am certain my losses will slow down now that the initial shock to my system is passing!

But, now I am 147.8 lbs, so I have 2 less points each day - YIKES!!!!

I leave for WDW in 28 days. My goal is to get into my size 12 shorts by then. I plan to exercise 3 xs/week, plus crunches, push-ups, and squats a little every day. Wish me luck!

Congrats to everyone who lost this week, or reached a goal, or did anything else that made YOU proud!!!!

Ah yes, Mary - the DOWNfall to losing - Losing POINTS! YIKES is right, but trust me, you'll adjust, and with results, you'll be happy about it......give it some time, ok? ;) (I know I FREAKED when the REWARD meant LOSING Points! I mean, HOW COULD THEY DO THAT TO ME?!?!) ;)

Just sharing now: On the flipside of when it feels 'good' on indulging......I've been away the past 4 days, and decided since I'm on maintenance to do kinda whatever I wanted, and I did (kinda). I drank my water, tried selecting some/most OP items, even did an audio WATP 2 mile CD (ONCE), but letting HECK break lose when the mood struck me. Well, guess what? Only ONE of the things I chose to break lose on, even tasted good! :confused3 Go Figure! (WHAT tasted good you ask? - A bag of peanut M&Ms, late at night :teeth: ) I'll admit I also ate MORE of the things I chose, and I paid for it, not in pounds (YET, anyway - I WI Mon AM), but in sleepiness, YES sleepiness!! Man, that food just brings you down! :sad2: And to be sleepy on a mini-vacation is NOT having fun. :sad2: [Edited to say that, TWO items actually tasted good, the second being the Margaritas I absolutely LOVED!!!!!]

So, take what you will from my experience, but take it in MODERATION ok? jmho. :flower:

Be back with my 'results' on Monday. :earseek:

:grouphug:

Had my WI today and I'm down 6 pounds!! I couldn't be happier. This is a 2 week loss since I WI on Sundays and there was no meeting on Easter. So I made it through the holiday, 4 days away -- which means restaurant food! Also, a Bunko get together -- many munchies and wine, and a birthday party -- chips, dips, fried chicken, meatballs, beer, cake, etc. My total loss is now 15.4 in 3 weeks. I'm sure things will slow down, but at least I have a good jump start!!

WTG - 3lilprincesses! WOW - you are off to a bangin' start! :earseek:

KimRaye - those m&ms sound SO good! I  chocolate SO much. I was actually surprised I did so well last week, because I caved in and ate about 20 mini peanut butter cups from my DD's Easter basket! Whew.

Good luck everyone! Mary

MaryJ, Denine, cinmell, Otto's Doll, eeyore Kelly & nuke – Way to go! :cheer2: Congrats on the losses!

Kristi1357 – Being a “BIG ZERO” can feel pretty good when you think you “should have” gained. :scared: WHEW! I’m relieved for you. ;)

chrismiss56 – I claim to do the flex plan, but I eat a lot of foods from the Core list. It really seems to be working for me. I love those “free” veggies, but I want to keep track of everything else. I really aim to get all of my daily servings in, which means I’m not just eating “junk.” I guess you could just say I’m a healthy Flex Plan person. ;)

keenercam – You go, with the losing weight and doing Disney during the same week! :cool1: What an inspiration you are! :sunny:

mepperson – WOW! :Pinkbounc 8.8 lbs in 2 weeks! That is terrific! Good luck to you with trying to get into those size 12’s and with handling the reduction in daily points! YOU CAN DO IT!! :cheer2:

KimRaye—I totally agree with you about the “flipside” of allowing for indulgence. I “think” it sounds SOOOO good, but when I do it, I feel so terrible! Not because of a guilty conscience, but I literally feel completely “out of it” and just plain old worn down and yucky. BTW, will you pass me one of those M&M’s?

3lilprincesses – What an achievement! You did ALL of that stuff and still lost 6 pounds!? :faint: YOU GO, GIRL! 15.4 in just 3 weeks is phenomenal!

Well....I don’t weigh again until next Saturday (I’m switching from Tuesdays to Saturdays), so I still have almost an entire week to go! Ugh!

:wizard: Good Luck to everyone this week! :shamrock: I'm rootin' for all of ya! :cheer2:

Wow! Everyone is doing so well!

KimRaye - I so know how you feel. Everytime I eat something that's slighty off-plan, I feel sick. I think it's a combo of guilt and the fact that my system is just not used to it anymore!

Well, today was WI and I'm down another 3.4 for a grand total of 15.4 in a little over a month! I was so stinking excited to get my 15 lb. clippie and then I realized I lost a point too! (feeling your pain mepperson)

I'm excited that I'm down but the losing the point thing scares me. Next time I get close to losing a point, I think I'm going to ease myself into the new range early so I can just get used to it.

Also, today is my birthday and we are going out. I want to not be good and have a dessert and something that I totally can't eat when I'm OP. I actually think that I will today so that I can be totally OP again first thing tomorrow.

Congrats to all the losers! Keep shrinking everyone!!

Just TRY spell-checking that word! :rotfl:

Happy Birthday Shauna! Hope you enjoyed your BD dessert. ;) And you're right, our systems are just NOT used to that diet and/or quantity anymore. It does serve as a great reminder though, of our new, healthier bodies!!! :teeth: :cool1:

I'm glad a few of you can relate to the overindulging. Do I think that once in a while will hurt? No. Do I think that 4 days in a row will hurt? ABSOLUTELY! And, every week that it happens like that (which it won't), it just ADDS pounds (simple math). So imho, if you happen to overindulge once in a while, take it easy on yourself, but don't try to do it too often, as it'll just make you feel :crazy2: ! NOT Good! :sad2:

Have a great WW Week everyone! :grouphug:

As for me, don't start congratulating, but I was down 1.5 lbs today, the day after Easter! :earseek: Being on maintenance, I don't think this is anything permanent, and combined with a mini-vacation this week, I'm not even confident enough to change my clippie to 80 lbs total. I just think that next Monday, or even the Monday after that, it will reappear). :confused3
Well, well, what do you know? As expected, that 1.5 lbs is right back where I thought it'd be....on my scale! :rotfl: So I guess I'm the same (again), and I consider myself lucky given the amount of food I ate last week on vacation. :earseek:

Happy Week!!! :sunny:

:bday: TPCShauna - Enjoy your dessert!

KimRaye - - - you'll have that 1.5 lbs off b4 you no it :goodvibes

I lost .6 lbs at my wi - - - I am trying to "step it up", I feel like even though I'm keeping to program I am not really as enthusiastic about it as I first was - I need to get excited again...I guess I'm not getting the "big" losses that we all look so forward to :lovestruc

I'm going to be drinking more water :drinking1 this week and really watching those points ::yes:: ---let's see what happens next weigh in!

chrismiss56: I do the flex plan and so far have had good luck w/it. I like being able to eat the carbs & not feel quilty  I hear pros & cons about both programs - - but whichever lets you lose should be the one you stick with!!

Barbara

I'm just back from WI. I lost a pound. I am FINALLY in the 160s!!!!! (169.0). I haven't been in the 160s since motherhood (16 years). :cool1:

 Thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes. It was a good day. :flower:

Yes, I totally went off-plan for dinner last night. We went to The Melting Pot which I loved and I had everything I wanted; cheese fondue with dippers, the Boulliabase cooking method (with lots of meat and yummy batters and sauces) and a fabulous dessert fondue. I probably gained back half of what I lost last week! :rolleyes1 I didn't eat as much as I thought I would splurging since fondue takes so long that you feel fuller more quickly and eat less. So it was fun and I got to be off-plan. Now, of course, like KimRaye, my tummy is feeling yucky for the splurge but it sure was fun on the way down! This morning I am totally back OP so I'm feeling great!

Today my co-workers had my birthday celebration which I was kind of concerned about because I was scared about how bad the birthday cake would be. They totally surprised me and were so good! They got me an angel food cake with fat free cool whip, fat free strawberry glaze, strawberries and healthy choice vanilla ice cream! It was so sweet that they respected my diet with their celebration! This year was a good birthday. :flower:

TPCShauna: How nice of your co-workers :) - I love when people respect that you are on ww & don't try to push food on you - - that really bothers me when people just don't understand

plutosmyfav: Good for you! :cool1: I'm in the 160's with you----hoping to reach the 50"s very very soon!! :goodvibes

Good Job everybody----have a great week!!

Barbara :teeth:

YIPPEE!! Down another 2.5!! After crawling along for so long, I am finally seeing some significant progress.

WTG CAM! :cheer2:

Shauna - what a great surprise from your co-workers! They must really respect what you are doing for yourself.

My WI is Friday morning, but I already feel like I am not losing this week. But, I am exercising more. I've actually gone on a couple of short bike rides, another scheduled for today and Thursday, with a bike rally on Saturday. I am embarrassed to say that I go about 2 miles and then feel like I am going to die, then I go for another 3 or so. The bike rally will be 8 miles, so I am trying to build up for it this week. DH and DD (6) on a tandem bike will be doing either the 20 or 30 miles. I am such a wuss! This time last year I did a 15 and a 20 mile rally. See what not exercising can do to us! OK, OK, off my pity box!

I'll check in with you all later. Mary

Thanks, Sunny and Mary!
Hey, Mary! Kudos to you for doing the bike rally! I am just fine on the stationary bike, but cannot imagine going out on the road. Have a great time. I hope the weather is wonderful for you!
