Hi guys! Can I join you? My mom and I are going to a WW meeting on Thursday and I am going to try my hardest to stick with it. My dad passed away a little over a year ago and I lost a tremendous amount of weight due to the stress. Over the winter I got sick and the weight came back on and then some. I would like to lose at least 30 lbs.

My question to you is how do you stay full? Do you have any tricks? My problem is that I am hungry all the time :rolleyes1 I have tried the WW dinners and the Lean Cuisine ones and I really like them so I know I can use them.

TIA :)

Haven't weighed in officially this week, but I will tomorrow. I just had to share though...I weighed myself on my scale at home this morning, and it appears I have reached my goal weight!!!! I was SOOOOO excited!:cool1: The problem is today is the 4th of July!!! Our neighborhood is having a block party so I know there will be tons of great food!!! I am going to make a WW green bean casserole, and WW peanut butter/cheerios cookies so I know there will be something there that I can eat!!! I don't want to blow it now!!! Reaching my goal should be enough motivation for me to stick with it today!!! Hope everyone has a good 4th, and never give up!!! I NEVER thought I could get my weight down this far, but I did. It is a great feeling!!!

party: Congratulations to you Harvest02! That would definitely keep me motivated to stay in control today. We had our block party on Saturday so I know how tempting it can be. Obviously you know what to do because you've been so successful! Enjoy the day and enjoy being at goal!

I am hoping you are having a better week, be sure to let us know how you are doing.

IDoesn't mean at all it is your doing :goodvibes
Thank you BOTH!! My Dr. called again, with positive PAP results the other day, and I said, "GREAT! I'm still doing everything right but my cholesterol is totally wacky and I can't lose weight?!?!" :sad2: She just told me to keep taking the fish oil and watch my saturated fat! I ALREADY DO THAT! It's gotta be DAD! :rolleyes1 4-5 months for a re-check is a LONG time, imo! :rolleyes1 (Stayed the same again this week - 1 lb lost in 7+ weeks now. :sad2: )

I NEVER thought I could get my weight down this far, but I did. It is a great feeling!!!
YES IT IS!!!!!!! :cheer2: CONGRATS TO YOU!!!!!! WELL DESERVED!!!!!!! :yay: :cool1: :grouphug:

Hi I am new on this board too. I have been doing weight watchers for about a month now and have lost 13 lbs so far. I say a month bc I was bad and went off it for a week or two in the middle bc of money and time issues. But I am back on and I am doing really well with it. To be honest I was worried about doing it bc I was worried I wouldn't keep up with the meetings or with the diet. I have tried it before and once I went off or skipped a meeting that was it I didn't get back on. But not this time. This go around I am doing weight watchers online so I don't have to worry about the meetings and I can track everything online and get all the recipes. I was worried about being full at first too. Because to be honest I am extremely overweight (started at 315 now 302) and used to over eat, especially when I was stressed out. But I find that I stay full by eating 4 or 5 times a day with smaller meals or snacks rather than what I used too which was once or twice a day with bigger meals. I also find that fruit fills me up pretty good. Also if I start to get cravings or its too late at night and know I shouldn't eat anymore I try to distract myself by doing something like cleaning or working on some Disney scrapbooks:thumbsup2 I am getting married next year in October 2008 and want to lose alot of weight. My ultimate goal is to get to 180lbs (which I was a few years ago) if not better, but I will be happy if I can be down to 240 by the wedding at least. On top of weight watchers I am trying to workout regulary. It is hard right now bc I am so overweight and out of shape. But I am hoping next month when I have a bit more money to join the gym and get in shape that way too. Also I use old pictures of me when I was thinner as motivation. I am determined to stick with it and go the distance this time around.

:welcome: There is always room for one more WISHer!!! Sorry for the loss of your dad, my dad passed away two years ago this month and I know all the stress it brings. This is a great place for support and motivation and the more we have contributing the greater our successes!

I have always been hungry, seems to be an ongoing problem. Some of the things that help me is to drink LOTS of water and to eat more often. I usually eat breakfast by 7am, then a snack at 10am and lunch at 12:30/1:00. Then an afternoon snack around 3 or 4pm followed by dinner later on. I find the food choices I make dictate my hunger level. I discovered I can not eat cereal in the morning because it simply doesn't hold me very long. I usually have a WW shake or an Egg Beater omlet and toast for breakfast. Snack is usually carrots or celery or a 1 point fruit. I have a sensible lunch and a granola bar or wheat pretzels for snack. Dinner varies and I always need my evening snack.

Good luck on your journey, come visit often.

Another great big WISH :welcome:, so glad you are here! Congratulations on your success to date, that is pretty good for one month! It is harder to start working out in the begining, but little by little you will build up the stamina you need to work out longer and harder. When I first started to work out I chose the elliptical, I could barely make 15 minutes, but over time I worked my way up to 45 minutes (probably couldn't do that now, but it can be done). Every change for the positive you make is a step to helping you succeed on your journey. This is not a diet, this is a lifestyle change and all it takes is baby steps to get you on your way, which sounds like that is the direction you are heading. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding and best of luck on your journey. I look forward to hearing about your progress.

And now an update from me.............

I have been busy as of late and have not been around the boards as much as I like (or need). I have been falling off the wagon a bit, not journaling, eating all the yummy foods of summer BBQ's and what not. I am still exercising regularly, thank goodness, but tomorrow it is back to program. I was supposed to weigh in tonight, but couldn't face the music so I am giving myself a week and then I WILL go weigh in no matter what. I am still within 2 pounds of goal, but I am on the over side and I rather liked being 3 pounds under goal, so I have some work to do. I am accountable for my eating and I will get back on track. Hopefully things in my world will be settling a little and I will be able to come visit with my WISH friends more often. Until then, ONWARD AND DOWNWARD.....we CAN do this!!!!:cool1:

An update from another WISH member.... went to WI tonight, and wouldn't you know it!!! Their scale said I had a 1/2 pound to go until I got to goal!! Yesterday, I was there(when I weighed myself at home). How frustrating!!! Oh well, I am SOOOO close!! My goal this week is to get there by WI next Thursday. I would love to start maintenance!!!! We leave on a 4 day vacation next Friday, so that would make my trip so much more enjoyable knowing what I have accomplished! I am going to think good thoughts that next week will be the week!!!:wizard:

UPDATE: 7/12/07 - Went to WI tonight and am still the SAME exact weight as last week. I have this 1/2 pound to go, and I am very frustrated. The WW lady told me not to be discouraged. She said since the weather is hot right now I am probably holding on to more water than usual. I guess that does make sense, right? Has anyone else ever heard this? At least I didn't gain. I am nervous about this weekend though because we will be gone for 4 days and it will be very hard to stick with writing everything down. I think I may try more of the Core plan this week so that I don't have to track everything. We will be doing lots of walking, so hopefully that will help. We are going to Nashville TN for 2 days, then to Holiday World. I will keep everyone updated!

Well, not a good week, but I kind of figured it would be with my weigh in just 2 days after the 4th and we were away last weekend. Now it's time to get back on track. I only have 16 pounds to go and my goal is to be there by the end of the summer. Welcome to everyone that's new and keep up the good work everyone!

Sorry their scale was off from yours, but you are so close I am sure you will have it by next weigh in. You've done a great job no matter what and you should be enjoying all you have accomplished.

Those holidays are always hard, but at least you went to WI. I eat more than I should have on the 4th and totally skipped WI until next week. 16 pounds by the end of summer is so doable, especially with all of the great summer fruits and veggies out there.

Well I gained 1 lb again this week. I am so OK with it. I know how great I am doing with all the excersiing and eating so I know I will see it all catch up at some point. Going forward...

Don't have time to read, hope everyone is doing well!!

I just got over to the WISH board this weekend (don't know why I didn't do it sooner), but here I am. I started WW (flex) on 2/1/07 and have lost 32 lbs so far!! I weigh in on Thursday am every week. I started at 214.8 and my goal weight is 115 (I am 36 yo, 4'11" small frame) I am SOOOO tired of being fat and decided I needed to do something about it and get my fat booty moving!!!

I am hoping to read through all the posts on this thread (it may take quite a while LOL). It is nice to see others succeeding and it is encouraging that if others can do it, so can I.

I will check in again soon, and definately on Thurs after weigh in!!!

Thanks for letting me join in!

Well I'm going to my first meeting tomorrow. I'm a bit nervous but I have not been able to do ww on my own for the past month so I figure this is the next best step. I don't have a lot to lose but I like the idea of a support group and new recipes. I"ll start reporting my gains and losses next week. Wish me luck :)

Hello All! Good luck with WW M 'n C!!! I really look forward to my meetings....it really is the boost I need to keep me motivated! I hope you feel the same way. I have tried out several different times/days to find a leader I like. I think that can make a difference too. I go for my WI today...wish me luck too!

Hello it's me again - just got back from my WI and I finally made 10%!!!!
Yay!!!! I am so happy!!! My total loss so far is 18.8 lbs!!! I think WW is the best. It has really helped me lose weight for the first time ever!! Hope everyone has a great week! :goodvibes

Congrats Andrea! 10% is excellent. I'm about to run to my meeting. I'm a tad nervous as I don't know what to expect and its the only one in Houston that fits my schedule (riduculous right?). I'm hoping its a good leader. If its not I'll be signing up for WW online afterwards and hoping that will do the trick. I need some good low point recipes. I'm trying out turkey parmesean meatloaf tonight. I hope its good.
