The weight watcher meetings are great. Talk about support you get from them and the new people you meet. I know that they can all understand what I am going through because they have gone through it. Also you get a lot of ideas and facts that help out. I am sure you will enjoy the meetings. That is what keeps me going. And thank you for the advise I appreciate it soooo much!!!

Thanks for the response. I think I'm going to try one out. I know it sounds silly but I probably won't go until that week after the 4th of july since the meetings are held on Tuesday and I will be off from work. Last I remember you only got so many skipped meetings before it started to cost you and I'd had to lose one right away.

Tiggerlover - Thank you! And WOW! Congrats to you for achieving lifetime membership with WW!!! That's AWESOME!

I agree with Miss Missy...and my theory on it is that each body is different in losing weight...just like every pregnancy is different or like every child develops skills at a different pace...we each lose weight in our own unique way. Some of us may have to diet AND excercise to lose weight while others just seem to be able to drop weight by doing one OR the other. What works for one person may not work for another person. What we all have to remember is that our weight loss is not going to happen overnight and it will take time for each of us to work our way to our individual goals.

Don't give up...when you feel like you're going to give up, focus on how you felt when you had the will power to begin your journey of weight loss in the first place!

Thank you, I have worked so hard to get to lifetime, this whole journey has been a learning process for me and I am learning something new every week. As you can see from my clippies this hasn't happened overnight, so I am hoping since I am in it for the long haul that what I have learned will stick this time.

You are so, so, so right about every "body" being different and everyone losing in a different way!!! Love your quote too!

Hi! I find its best to listen to myself and no one else. Losing inches and having your clothes fit is a great thing. The pounds will ***e soon. Just keep trucking along.

On a side note - how are the WW meetings? I've never been and the building connected to mine at work has a once a week lunch meeting that I was thinking about going to. I just don't know what to expect but I think it might be good especially since it would be so easy to go to.

:welcome: to the WW thread M 'n C!!!

Losing the inches and having the clothes fit are great indicators that we are doing something right for our bodies. As long as we have that we are doing okay.

WW meetings are key for me, I have done WW without meetings and with and by far the meetings are crucial to my success. Although I have been doing WW many years now I still learn something new to incorporate in my journey, whether it is a recipe, a low point food item or just information, the meetings are the greatest (if they are the right one). I have found that a good leader makes all the difference and if you aren't liking your leader or meeting try another one, worked for me and now I have the best leader of them all!

Thanks miss missy,
I never thought of it that way. I have been told by others to forget what everyone else tells you and think about how I feel and such. So I am going to do my best and keep up on my WW mtgs and such Again thanks you all for your input

Your very welcome! :goodvibes I have just gotten to this point for myself. Dropping the weekly expectations... and just knowing every good choice I make is part of it all... not just a number on a scale. It has worked for me to just "be" ya know, just "live" and doing it heathly, well the benefits just come along in time.

Meetings are key, they give you inspiration and ideas... and remind you how normal you really are in this :)

Sooo true too! I have come to realize this as well... ya know, no matter how much weight I lose, my butt will always be big in comparison to the rest of my body  it is in my make up. I never realized how true this is. I have a butt that will just never be small LOL and I have a waist that will always be small. Gosh to be my age and still learnig these things! :rotfl:

p.s. reporting now a .8 loss last week. so I am down 16.4 :)

This was a lightbulb moment for me! That's exactly right, miss missy, live healthy and the benefits will come along. They don't always come when we want them to but if we don't give up, they will come.

You hit the nail right on the head! Congrats on your success!

ALL OF YOU HAVE BEEN LIFE-SAVERS FOR ME, OVER THE YEARS, I SWEAR!

BUT...

Friends, I got a message from my Dr. today, after my visit on Monday when she told me I'm fine, doing everything right, except smoking of course, told me to take a multi-vitamin everday (nothing big) but today the message was, my cholesterol is 267!!! I'm kinda TICKED after 3-4 years following WW, the best I can, and I'm HIGH on cholesterol?!?!?!? My dad today took total blame for that (heredity) but that doesn't change my number!!!!! :sad2: She said to watch labels - That's ALL I do, on WW!! It's Dad's fault. Must be. ;)

I'm supposed to add fish oil vitamins to the multivitamin I take and come back in 4-5 months to see if the level changes. I am truly, NOT HAPPY with this report. I know it could be worse, but after all these years on WW, I shouldn't have such a HIGH cholesterol count. :sad2: Seriously, how much LESS saturated fat can I possibly intake while on WW? :confused3

Sorry to vent here. :rolleyes1

I've lost 1lb TOTAL in the past 6+ weeks. What am I doing wrong, that I didn't do before????? :confused3

I'm disappointed AND frustrated! :rolleyes1

Hello all -

WI today and I am down 1.4! Yeah! My total loss since I started is 16.2. I had hoped to be down 18 by 4th of July which I don't think I will make, but it'll be close!

Hey Kim! Sorry to hear of your frustration....what are the Dr's other suggestions for lowering your cholesterol?? Hang in there!!! You can get off that plateau and start losing again! :thumbsup2 And hey, the Cubs are winning!!! Woo hoo!!!! Take care of yourself and I hope your week gets better!!!

Hi All,
It's been a long time since I checked in last.
Good news...Im down a total of 8lbs. The past several weeks have been hard with very little loss. So I dropped 2 points and lost 1.4 !:cool1:

KimRaye... my eating habits did not include fatty food and my cholsterol was way past 250! I have a family history of heart disease. 3 months on meds and it was lowered a big 77 points! It's no big deal being on meds for me. I did everything I could and was fighting a very losing battle from a family history I couldnt win. Ive done the fish oil and the multi-vitamins, felt better but no lowering of my #. Sorry!
Good luck on what you and the Dr. think is best for you. And keep losing!

Don't feel bad, it's heredity, my DH takes the cholesterol medication and he's very slender......he can sometimes get his dosage down but he really needs to take the meds............hope that helps!:grouphug:

I have been so busy with the kids, summer break, etc., I haven't had a chance to check in in a while. Trying to get around to reading some of the posts I missed during that time but I hope everyone is doing well :)

You can see from my clippie that I've lost 35 pounds (actually 37 from from my last weigh-in which was Monday.) I'm on my way, getting there slow but sure. I've had 2 people make comments about my weight loss and these were people that didn't even know I was trying to lose weight so I wanted to do a happy dance!! :dance3: It's so hard for me to believe sometimes that in March I weighed 215 pounds and now I'm at 178, I never thought I would see those numbers again.

I can't always post but do lurk here when I have a second and all of you always keep me inspired :goodvibes Keep up the GREAT work

Hi everyone you probably remember me the one who was so upset about how I had gained 3 pounds with all the exercise I had done and such. Well I weighed intoday and I lost 4.8 pounds My total weight loss is 15.2 pounds I got another 5 pound star today I am so excited whoo hoo:cool1:   Just wanted to thank you all for your inspirations and keeping me going!!! thank you

Went to WI last night --- gained 1 pound!!! BUT, it is my time of the month and looked back at the last few months to see what has happened. Every 4 weeks, I gain a little bit and the next week I drop it all and then some. I weighed myself this morning and have already lost 1/2 pound from yesterday. It sucks being a woman!!!:sad2: Maybe I will do better next week! I am only 1 1/2 pounds from my goal, so I think my body is trying to frustrate me! NO WAY!!! I am not giving up this fight!!!:cool1:

Hi everyone. I've been popping in here and there but haven't had a chance to post in a while. I bought a new camera and have been hooked on the photography board. I weighed in today and only gained .2 pounds after vacation, so I'm thrilled. I had been on a snacking streak before we left, and while we were away, I did splurge, but came back home tried to eat healthier, lots of fruit and cottage cheese and yogurt, so it seems that has helped. I feel like I can splurge a little, and be healthy and active a little, and overall maintain my loss so far. I'm at 39.6 lost, and my goal is to enjoy the summer and just get back to 40 pounds lost and maintain that til sept, and then recommit to start losing again. I joined ww 2 years ago in sept, so if I can keep this weight off, I average 20 pounds per year. Having been a yo-yo dieter my whole life, this is the longest I have ever maintained any weight loss.

Tiggerlover- You have been and are such an inspiration for me. To see you reach goal, and see the time you've committed yourself to do that really helps me to know that it is possible. I know there is no easy way to lose and keep the weight off but with hard work and dedication it will happen.

KimRaye- Hang in there. Slow and steady will definitely win the race. I too have had those periods of no loss for weeks, but I try to look at it as maintaining and not gaining which is a great thing. I'm sorry about your cholesterol. Heredity is a HUGE factor with cholesterol, and if the fish oil and multivitamins don't make much difference, the meds out there now are very safe and effective. It sounds like you already have a low chol, sat fat diet.
Keep on fighting. You will do it!!!

miss missy- Congratulations on your loss!!!:thumbsup2 I love what you said about not focusing on the numbers, but making healthy choices realizing that those will make a difference in time. That is so true, and I have recently come to believe that wholeheartedly.

Congratulations to everyone here who has been losing!!!! :cool1: To everyone struggling, be patient and don't give up. Every little healthy thing we do will help us reach our goals. We can do this!!:woohoo:

Yeah, I know how you feel. Even though I know it is from "that time of month", it still is depressing and takes some self pep-talk to put it in prespective. 1 pound gain on "that week" is probably a loss, once your body rebalances. Speaking of flucuations, just for curiousity I weighed myself morning, noon and then evening just before WW weigh in, and just after. I gain around 6lb from morning to evening, same clothes - 2 lbs in the morning, 4lbs in afternoon. A .4lb loss from just before meeting to just after. And it is a new, digital quality scale, so it is me, not it. Overall was a 2.4 lb loss for the WW weigh in for the week. Needless to say, I'll stick to following my weight by the WW weigh in, and really look at the overall trend/average monthly loss.

Gained 1 this week. Not worried since I am packing away more pants that are falling off me :) Things are changing, and I am seeing it, no matter what the scale says.:cool1:

Hope everyone has a great week!

:grouphug: {{{{{KIM}}}} sorry to hear the news about your cholesterol and wish I had some sage advice for you, but I don't. I am not too up on the whole cholesterol thing, but I do know that with a family history it is really hard to keep it in check because you are predisposed to it. Did your doctor give you any advice or tips? Your disappoint over the last 6 weeks is totally understandable, it is hard to follow program and not see the scale moving. I am at a loss for words as to what I can say to help, just know that I am here to support you as best I can. The things I have always done to get over a hurdle (drink more water, eat exercise points, get your two dairy products in) are things I have mentioned previously and I am sure you have tried many things to change it up, but beyond that I am just not sure. I am hoping you are having a better week, be sure to let us know how you are doing.

Welcome back, you have been missed! I am so happy to read you had a miniscule gain from vacation, that is something to be proud of!! It is harder during the summer months to stay OP for me....way too much temptation, but I am hanging in there.

Time is short, I dont even have time to read all the posts, but I did want to say congrats to our losers and to hang tough to those who have gained.

I know it stinks, :grouphug: to you. My DH is on pills for chol and bp and he runs every day and eats well and has his whole life. It is his Dad's genes! His brother who is just as healthy and fit is also on the meds. So some people can't do a thing to prevent it... some people just have the gene :( Doesn't mean at all it is your doing :goodvibes
