WOW - I just sold my old gold........

sent mine in yesterday...1 gold chain, 1 gold ring and 1 silver ring, 1 watch that I have no idea if it is real, and 1 pair of very tiny gold earrings.....holding my breath..will let you know.

Hav you heard anything yet?

JC Penney is getting ready to launch a program in stores. You pick up the envelope in the store, and ship it off UPS. When it is received you will be emailed a link that shows your gold being weighed, and you can either accept or decline the price you're offered.

Who is the metal buyer? What is their payout scale? Where is the company physically located? What is their reputation? What are their accreditations and accommodations? (And by whom) TIA

I haven't seen the envelopes yet, so I'm not sure who the company is. The customer gets all the information on the envelope, then receives a link in a email that shows someone removing their gold, weighing it, and an amount will show up. The customer can choose to accept or decline the offer.

I just got my quote back today for $708 which was for about 3 rings, a bracelet, and a pair of gold earrings. I was pleased with this quote as I went to one of those stores near my home that buys gold and they only quoted me $450 which I knew was low. Glad I checked around! Thanks for everyone's advice!!:cool1:

 Got my check today! I wish I waited until this week because gold is higher but on well.......

So did most of you take to a local store then try USGB? Seems USGB gives much more. I have a few pieces.
Going to Disney in Oct and would love the extra money. Was watching the news and Gold is back up and higher then it was this time last year.

I would like some information on this whole gold buying thing. I have a few broken rings, and a broken necklace, and a class ring that I could send in. Plus some earrings.
Is it really as good as everyone says?
I'm very skeptical

I think lots of the people in this thread went to local jewelers first, which gave them a good point of reference to compare their prices to the USGB prices.

With gold hovering around $1,700/ounce, I'd say this is a really good time to cash in. When I cashed the majority of my gold in two years ago, the price was only around $900/ounce...and it still paid for most of my Disney trip that year!

Read through some of the thread, even just the last 3 or 4 pages...I don't think you'll be skeptical anymore. The payouts, for the most part, really are that good.

And you always have the option to decline the payout and have your jewelry returned to you.

Exactly. You will find much of the information that you are looking for via the last several pages and this one as well. Give it a look. Ship it to USGoldBuyers. And if you are not satisfied with their offer, just decline the offer, then request that your jewelry be shipped back to you.

Would you use the same company for selling gold coins? Or is there a different way to sell those?

Yes I would. You can check their website usgoldbuyers dot com and even call them to ask your questions. I found them to be helpful and friendly.

I didn't bother getting a quote locally. Everything I read showed this company to be the best paying. My daughter sold some jewelery last Dec and all went well so I just sent it in. On the website it gives you instructions to do it online or to call to get the info mailed to you. I used their online form. I was very happy with the transaction. It was so easy, they even pay the overnight FedEx.

I have read many of the post on this thread. Seems more have had much luck with USGB. my concern is I do have a couple of peirces with gemss. One is very big but surrounded by gold. Will they pay for them? Or return them?

Question...with USGB I thought I saw somewhere that they prefer you use another carrier if your gold doesn't weigh a certain amount. Is this true? I just submitted to get my express pack....but wanted to see about getting it in the mail today if possible since I have a FedEx pickup already scheduled for another package.

And what is the best way to get paid? I don't want a fee imposed....which I think there was with a check?

Personally, I plan to use eBay to sell my coins. If you look there, you can see that people are getting spot or spot plus a small premium. Or you could visit a local coin dealer. Because coins don't need to be melted down, you'll receive a little less than spot as that's how they make their money - selling coins a little above spot and buying a little below.

You should do great!
