Would you stay at your favorite resort IF the pool was closed?

In other words......how important is the pool to you??

Several years ago I moved from All Stars Sports to All Stars Music when last minute I found out their main pool was closed.

However, now I would still stay at the Dolphin even if there was no Grotto Pool because I love the location so well......and the balcony!!!:smooth:

Of course I would hope there was at least a lap pool to cool off in!!:)

pools really don't do anything for me. I think I've only been in a WDW pool 4 times in my last 4 trips (two trips were too cold to go swimming)

I grew up with a pool in my backyard...so the thrill of going someplace with a pool didn't sway me either way.

besides - the water parks are there - MUCH more fun then any pool.

I'd much rather take a shower after a long day at the parks, put on dry clothes and sit on my balcony with a glass of wine!

If my kids are with us, we would choose another resort as the pool is a huge part of any vacation for them (at times I think my kids would be just as happy to stay at a hotel 10 miles from our home as long as the pool was awesome!). If it was just my husband and me, not having a pool on site would not be a deterrent as we are just as happy to sit on the balcony, beach, Boardwalk, etc as to hang out by the pool.

We would probably pick another resort, but that's because my DH and I both love to swim, and we devote an entire day to enjoying these kind of aspects at our resort.

We change from Old Key West to French Quarter because of the pool. If it's only Dh and I, it doens't matter if the pool is closed or not. However, with our dd, the slide in the pool is part of the vacation fun.

I just stayed at CBR for 8 days and didn't get a chance to swim in the pool once! We have PAP's so I'd rather spend a few hrs at TL or BB, than swim in the pools. -Stephanie

We really enjoy swimming at least a few times on vacation. So we would switch resorts and pick our next favorite resort.

If the main pool at CBR was closed we would just swim in the quiet pools and love it.

I was just getting ready to post an almost identical message, so I'll just say, "Me too!" ::yes::

Yes, we are always at the resorts for such a short time, that we have better things to do than swim.

The pool is very important to us. When we go to Disney it is normally for 10 to 14 days so there are days that we never leave the resort. I would stay at a different resort if the main pool was closed!

We love POFQ, but if the pool were closed, we'd stay somewhere else. We don't spend A LOT of time in the pool, but enough that we'd miss it. Plus, we don't do the waterparks since our kids are ver young, so the resort pool is our only time of water fun.

I'm right there with ya.

During our stays we alternate park day/ pool day. Pool is extremely important to us, so yes I would change resorts.

We enjoy taking time out to go swimming and hang out at the pool so pools are somewhat important to us. If the pool at our favorite resort was closed we probably would stay at a different resort b/c our 3 year old loves pools and it's a nice way to have some fun and relax.

The slide was a big part of the stay for my DH! lol

The pool is very important, I'd stay some place else and return when the pool was open.

We were supposed to stay at the Polynesian back when they were building the volcano pool and we ended up swtiching to the WL when we got a letter about the construction. I just didn't want to spend my vacation walking past the Excuse our dust...blah, blah, blah......signs.

We ended up loving the WL and still haven't stayed at the Polynesian, we'll get there eventually. ;)

I would and did change my ressies for my Sept./Oct. upcoming trip;) The pool at OKW will be being referbished to put the new pool slide in this fall and while I absolutely love OKW and it cost a little less in points for us to stay there, the pool is one of our favorite parts of vacation! There are 3 other pools to enjoy throughout OKW but one of our favorite things to do is hang by the main pool and have a nice drink from the pool bar -- kind of hard to do at the quiet pools when they don't have the pool bar:eek: :( And we also like the main pool area for the kids - the kiddie pool and what not will be closed so we will stay over at BCV's this trip instead (I know, it's a rough change but somehow we'll just have to survive - LOL:teeth: ). I was kind of disapointed though about not getting to stay at OKW - I will miss the room but the pool will make up for it and is definetly a big part of our vacation.

If it were up to me alone the pool would not matter. That being said I never go alone and both DH and grandchildren think it isn't a vacation without a pool. So I would have to say I would change resorts.

When we first started vacationing at Disney the pool wouldn't have been an important factor in deciding on a resort, because we use to spend all of our time in the parks and felt like we had to do it all. Now that we've visited several times, we enjoy taking things a little slower than we did in the past. We definitely would change resorts if the pool were being refurbished, because we really enjoy relaxing by the pool with a drink in the afternoon, and the kids love to go for a dip during the hot summer months (even though they spend all summer at a pool!).
