Hello!

This is a tentative PTR because im still not 100% sure i can go. My cat, Mochi, became suddenly ill and it required a lot of blood transfusions (and more). She died last week and I blew through my savings to try and keep her alive.

If im able to recoup most of the vet bills I paid, then
I can go on my cruise :)Planning this cruise helps me a lot during this time and DCL has always been my happy.

When: B2B Feb. 12-16th & 16-19th 2026
Ship: Disney Adventure
Who: Me!
Cabin: Deluxe Inside 9975
Itinerary: Singapore (cruise to nowhere)

The first cruise will be my 5th Disney cruise and the 2nd will be my 6th, which means I will be Gold Castaway status for the second cruise!
The first cruise will be during Valentines Day, im not sure if DCL does anything for that, but the second will be during Lunar New Year, which is a huge holiday in Singapore and China. The second cruise is a 3 day but it is more expensive than the first 4 day cruise because of that major holiday. Im really looking forward to finding out if they do anything fun for the holiday.

Im living in Japan, near Tokyo, for research and booked this cruise before I even moved here! My home university is in Canada, where I get my funding from so Budgeting will be in CAD or JPY.
I booked on opening day booking for Silver CC and was able to get the same cabin for both cruises. The agent said she can see the different themes for each cabin so we spent time looking for a Frozen themed cabin! Im excited because I bring my own decorations and they are Frozen themed.

I think that's it ... onto planning!

Haha ALL of my plans completely changed. By the time I could afford flights the prices changed. SOOO here is my new planned itinerary:

Flights: Booked! Arrive February 11th and fly out on the 20th. Was able to get Premium for a lot cheaper than my original plans

Hotel: V Hotel Bencoolen
It has some great reviews and I haven't seen anything about noise issues, which is a big concern for me.

Activities: Night Safari, Gardens by the Bay, Botanical Garden, and maybe an extra tour

Tentative plans ...

February 11th
Arrive in Singapore from Tokyo
Take MRT to Hotel
Go to Gardens by the Bay

February 12th
Check Out Hotel
Take MRT to Cruise Terminal

February 12-19
Cruising

February 19th
Debark
Take MRT to Hotel
Possibly go to the Botanical Garden
Night Safari

February 20th
Check Out - Have hotel hold bags
Explore/Tour
Get luggage, take MRT to Airport
Check in early at airport and explore
Depart after 10pm to Tokyo

I still plan to get the tourist pass for public transportation but it will be two 2-day passes instead of one 4-day pass.

I'm also going to hold off making exact tour plans for the 20th until much closer because there might be some Lunar New Year activities available (the 20th is 3 days after the start of Lunar New Year). I'll be updating that much later.
But I'm open to any tour suggestions because there is going to be a large gap between checking out and when I need to get to the airport.

The flights to Singapore seem to be 7-8 hours one way from Tokyo and vary between $500-700CAD.
The airlines Im looking at are:
- Scoot
- JapanAir
- ZipAir
I do have student benefits with Singapore Airlines but even with 10% and a baggage allowance, its still more expensive than the other carriers listed.

Im leaning towards Scoot with economy there and premium back.

Im planning on flying in on Monday the 9th to spend a few days in Singapore before the Thursday cruise departure.

Im eying one of the Holiday Inn Express hotels because its not horribly expensive, close to transportation, non-smoking building, and has breakfast included.
For 3 nights it would be about $650CAD based off of the direct website price

Other Plans

Transportation:
Im used to public transportation in Japan so sticking with public transportation for the trip will be easy for me as well as cost effective.
I would buy the 4 day tourist pass, which is about $40 CAD
Not sure what transportation i will choose to get back to the airport after the cruise though.

Activities:
Gardens by the Bay
Night Safari
Botanic Gardens
History & Culture Night Tour (not by DCL)

This is my rough draft of an itinerary ...

Monday 2/9
- Arrival to SIN
- Gardens by the Bay free area (evening tree show)

Tuesday 2/10
- Botanic gardens day
- Night Safari

Wed 2/11
- Garden by the Bay paid areas (am)
- Night tour (3pm start)

Thursday 2/12-2/19
- DCL cruises

Thursday 2/19
- Depart
- Stay at airport until flight departure

I am so sorry about your cat! And I hope you can pay for the cruise!

Looking forward to reading more about your planning.
Thank you. Yeah Im taking steps to save up again. Its agonizing not being able to purchase flights yet.

Thank you! There's not much more I can plan until I know i can pay for it. I will know for sure by the end of September but im hoping I'll know sooner.

With the Destiny releasing merch for their Maiden Voyage (and some inagural sailing merch), I have determined that I need to spend less on the hotel.
I very much like the Holiday Inn Express chain but I want DCL merch more lol

The other hotels I've been looking at are these (prices are total stay in CAD):
  • V Hotel Bencoolen ($395)
  • Bliss Hotel Singapore ($433)
  • Ibis Budget Singapore Gold ($386-460)
I've lowered my budget to, at most, $150CAD/night and don't have any issues staying at hostels but I must have a private room that locks. This is for my luggage and safety since I'm traveling alone. It also must have an elevator, air conditioning, free wi-fi, non-smoking property, and close to MRT stations.

If anyone has stayed at these hotels, let me know!

Hmm prices went up for the flights. I might save a lot more money by not flying in too early.

Now im looking at flying in on the 11th, visit Gardens by the Bay in the evening, overnight hotel.
Cruise during planned date
Then fly out on the 20th instead of the 19th. So I would debark on the 19th in the morning, check into hotel, go to the night safari that evening. On the 20th, sleep in, have hotel hold luggage after checkout, then maybe go to Gardens by the Bay again or the botanical garden or some other tour. Then pick up luggage and head to the airport (flight departure at like 10:30pm).

Its like $300 less for premium economy round trip on these dates compared to my original plan.

Yup, it's just so much cheaper to do that plan and I'll still get to do the main things I want to do (night safari and gardens by the bay). I have booked my flight and hotel now!

I need to update my planning post lol

Sounds like a good plan!
Yeah, I was quite happy to find out that the cost of hotel+premium round trip flight+night safari+gardens by the bay+transportation is the price of JUST round trip premium for flying out on the 9th and going back the 19th 😮
Like, I couldn't pass that up, you know?

We will be flying from Tokyo to Singapore also before doing the Adventure next May. :)

NICE! Do you have your flights yet?
I had no idea Singapore was so far, i thought it was more like 4 hours by air. Nope! Bit longer than that lol.

Thought anyone reading this would find it interesting:

I booked my flights with Scoop (premium) and when it came to the payment page, it would have cost $20 to pay with a credit card. Im like, NOPE! There was another option that is pretty unique to Japan and that is by paying at a konbini (like 7-11), so i chose that option as there were no extra fees.
I was given a QR code to scan at a kiosk at the konbini (Lawson) and it print a receipt with a barcode that the cashier scanned and then I paid cash to the cashier.
The photo is the receipt of payment. As you can see, I got a very good deal for Premium on a round trip ticket (the flight is 7.5-8 hours each way).

My birthday is less then a week away and I just got a card from my parents with a birthday present inside: A Disney gift card! Better yet, a USD Disney gift card. No exchange rates! Pure $50.
I told them about the cruise to help my mental health so I am extremely grateful to receive a gift card to use on the cruise.
