Not only would I put out a brand new bar of soap, I would also put out new guest towels.

We have liquid soap at all of the sinks, and we all use shower gel and/or bar soap. For guests, I definately put out a new bar of soap with their towels. I often put out a sample size shower gel. Except for my niece, she has her visitations with us, so she has all of her own products.

We always pack any personal hygeine products when we go and stay with anyone anyway, but would both use anything left out for us, so long as we're not allergic to it.

We have shared soap left out on the sink with our family - its no big deal! ;)

My guest bath has several bottles of bath and shower gel suitable for any gender so my guests can choose, as well as a bottle of suitable for all hair types shampoo. If I were leaving bar soap, it would be a fresh, wrapped bar for them with the fresh guest towels that I leave on the guest bed.

The soap at the sink is in a liquid dispenser, and there are terry hand towels as well as paper guest towels--my guests can choose which they'd rather use.

I have a friend who only has the bath towels that she and her family use and hang up in thier bathroom, no hand towels. So if I use the bathroom, I have to either dry my hands on one of theire used bath towels (YUCK!) or on my clothes. The last tiem I wsa there I was wearing soemthing I didn't want to dry my hand son, so I used toilet paper, which is a pain in the butt because it sticks to your fingers. Ugh!

I have guest towels, would put out a fresh bar of soap and have the little basket with toiletry items that a guest may have forgotten.

I remember my friend doing that for me years ago when I stayed at her house and it felt so warm and welcoming!

I soooo agree!

For the life of me I can't imagine why anyone would think that fresh soap and fresh towels could possibly be considered such a 'burdon'. :confused3

I would make sure the liquid soap dispenser was full, and would set out a new bar of soap with their guest towels. (Which I keep in a drawer in the guest room) I also have a basket filled with hotel sized toiletries that I've collected that I put out. Fresh flowers and a small bowl of fruit and cookies complete the preparations. (It goes without saying that the beds are freshly made and the room aired prior to their arrival.)

I PAMPER my guests. ;)

Can I be one of your guests?
I always bring tons of chocolates when I stay with people! ;) And if I know they are not against alcohol, I usually drag along some champagne too.

I'm coming to stay with you! :rotfl2:

Yes, I make sure there are fresh towels, new soap, and fresh linens on the bed. We don't have a dedicated guest room, so it's usually my youngest room, so guests also get his stuffed Tigger collection.

EWWW! My MIL does that with their towels. It really grosses me out. I don't know they do this now or not (and I don't want to know), but DH told me when he was growing up, they all had to share a towel. :scared:

Anyway, yes, we use fresh bar soap for guests when we're not using liquid soap. We switch back and forth.

I'm not sure I currently have a bar of soap in the house, lol. We used body wash and liquid soap at the sink.
But I would give them a fresh bottle of body wash (got lots and lots since I started going to CVS, lol). Our family would finish to body wash after they left (all our guests are family anyway, lol).
