Which hotel, if any, have you enjoyed the food at so much, that even if you weren't staying there, you'd go out of your way to go to that restaurant. What do you recommend there?

I go to other hotels often to eat. They have some great choices and are a nice break from the parks.

AKL has excellent options and unique restaurants. I have gone there after AK closes for dinner at Boma before. I haven't been to Jiko or Sanaa, but would love to try those out as well.

I've left MK to have breakfast at 1900 Park Fare at the GF. I also took the monorail to Captain Cooks at the Poly to have tonga toast.

I love Beaches and Cream, so I sometimes stop there if I am park hopping between Epcot and DHS.

Definitely don't nix a restaurant just because it isn't at your hotel!

Grand Floridian. I enjoy both Victoria & Alberts and Citricos.

Animal Kingdom Lodge. All 3 restaurants here are unique and worth the travel. I like Jiko and Sanaa a little better than Boma but we've traveled there to eat at Boma on occasion too.

We almost exclusively stay in the Epcot resort area but even when we don't, I will travel there to dine at bluezoo, Il Mulino, Shula's.

Resort restaurants are some of my favorites on property.

We always go to Captain Cooks CS a the Poly at least once per trip and it is totally worth the trek to us. We will either go for lunch and travel there from MK as a little break from the park or we will go for dinner on our first night and watch the EWP and Wishes from the beach afterwards. I LOVE their turkey club sandwiches and Dole Whips and my DH loves their pulled pork sandwiches. Poly is also my favorite resort, so i enjoy shopping and hanging out in the lobby as well.

We love the sandwiches and salads a Roaring Forks at the WL as well and its alo a nice break from the parks.

We also love traveling to AKL for Sanaa early dinner or Boma after a day at DAK.

We would and will be definitely going out of the way to eat at 'Ohana at the Polynesian resort. My family of 5 absolutely LOVED it!!!

We frequently have dinner at resorts that we aren't staying at. I don't know what you mean exactly by 'going out of your way', though. We generally make an ADR for a resort restaurant near the park that we are in that day. Unless it's a signature, in which case we will return to our resort to freshen up and change clothes. We love all of the restaurants at AKL. We dine at all of the monorail resorts and a few of the Epcot resorts. As a rule of thumb we plan to dine outside the parks on at least half the nights we are there.

at the Poly,Kona or Ohana- at Contemp-Chef Mickeys- at AKL- BOMA:cool1: I like the resort foods better....even the qs at the contmp is nice break from the park- we end up visiting the Poly numerous times for food.....

DH and I usually make a night of dinner at Boatrights and Bob Jackson at POR even though we don't stay there much. They prepare a really nice prime rib dish.

I love Artist Point at WL, Kona and O'hana at Poly, Backyard BBQ at FW, Boma and Sanaa at AKL. :)

We always go to other hotels to eat at, so basically I wouldn't let not staying at one particular hotel prevent me from going there. So I guess we go out of the way to eat at most or half of the places on our trips. When we stay in the Epcot area we are less likely to go out of our way but we still do some at other hotels. But its also because we already did or will do a trip at another resort.

We also frequent resort hotels and try to stay in the area of the park we are at.

We eat at other resorts all the time- we stay at mods, so the dining can feel limited. The only one that really seems out of the way is Saana, but the food is so worth it.

the simple answer is "yes"

resort restaurants - on the whole - are of better quality than those you can typically find in the parks...particularly at the deluxes.

Flying Fish at the Boardwalk - crab cake app, beef filet and truffle infused mac and cheese ....... YUM!!!!

I usually go all the way from Pop to Kona Cafe for breakfast at least once a trip, whether I'm going to the Magic Kingdom afterward or not! It's so worth it for me.

I would definitely go out of my way for California Grill :cool1:

Bluezoo in the swan

Yachtsman in the Yacht Club

Flying Fish on the Boardwalk
