Also I should mention if you start giving away trips to Disney for peeing on the potty what are you going to do when they graduate high school? My kids got a handful of m&m's and a silly dance from mommy and daddy....I dont feel they were deprived

My kids must be really deprived. I only did the silly dance and song.

Wow, well....how would you feel if your mother did that to you? I couldn't face my older daughter if I took any vacation with just her younger sister..

I was only 2 so I don't remember but when my sister was 4 my grandparents took my brother only, then 6. They told her she was too little. She's in her 40's and still remembers among many other things to spoil him.
We were always 'too little'.


This will NEVER EVER happen with my kids. Even Steven all the way!

Another trip to Disney, of course! In a deluxe resort even.

Seriously, I've not found that my kids expect more and better just because we splurged on past events. They've each celebrated a birthday at Disney (before the current promotion, of course, because my timing is just that good ), but adjusted just fine to having the next birthday here in boring old Michigan.

Yep. It doesn't always have to be exactly the same, but it has to even out in the long run or the kids will get upset over what they perceive as parents playing favorites.
