Would WDW Ever Do This?????

The part I love so much is being able to feel like a kid again...not having to care about anything and just being able to ride rides, play, and interact with lifesize stuffed animals.
why would they make an adult only party when we're all going to act like kids anyway? That's half the fun!

Set aside one night/month, as adults-only in the theme parks? Where you have to be 18 years old, or older to enter the parks. Maybe a weeknight, like Tues, Wed, or Thurs? Or they could rotate the parks....one month, one evening at MK, the next month, one evening at Epcot, etc. (don't think they could probably do that with AK though, since alot of things there are outside, you couldn't see them after dark).

Not for the entire day, just in the evening, maybe from 7pm-midnight. You wouldn't have to purchase a special/separate ticket, just use your regular park ticket or hopper pass.

I like kids as much as anyone, but I think it would be so cool to have just once in awhile to have the parks set-up for adults-only.

What's your opinion?

My opinion is that Disney isn't supposed to be exclusive...it isn't just for kids or nerds like us wouldn't be so into it...and it should never, ever be just for adults, if anything...the adults that go to Epcot to get drunk and act like idiots are far too many. So in a nutshell, no I don't agree with that.

I think there should be a day a month at WDW were one park is open only to childeren and their Guardians. That would be fare.... wouldnt it?

If you want to have an adult only evening... why not limit it to Kids only nite??

I'd have no problem with an adults only resort and I think some restaurants are just not meant for kids(V&A, for example), but I don't think they could make the OPs suggestion work.

If I'm having a day where kids are getting on my nerves, I try to avoid EMH in the morning and try to go late when most of them are starting to pass out in their strollers. I also avoid character meals except CP-love that one.

Nope, WDW would never do that. BUT if they did, i would be FIRST IN LINE. I would love an Adults only nite/day. Heck, even if Disney would make a STROLLER lane I would be dern happier! LOL

Im still wanting an Adults only resort where we can have a hot tub without little kids in it!

Agreed, the one time I got in a hot tub that wasn't owned by a familiy member was at POFQ.. parents just allowed their kiddos to splash around in there, drag in dirt and leaves etc. IMO, this is why we have pools. Worse yet, some of them just dropped the kids off there and walked away!? Which meant that not only was Junior annoying the heck out of everybody, now we had to watch him to make sure he didn't drown.

That's fine with me. Just let me know when it is so I can plan accordingly. I am not going to get all bent out of shape and have a meltdown because I am excluded for one night.

On our last trip, there were kids in the hot tub with goggle on and swimming under water and one of them slashed the hot water in a woman's face. At resorts with two hot tubs, I wish they would make one of them adult's only. They are not pools.

I love how everyone is arguing that Disney isn't exclusive and it's for everyone and they would NEVER go if it's adults only for just a few hours...but um... isn't that what the parties are (exlusive?) If there was an adults only paid hard ticket event, SIGN ME UP! If Disney makes it known ahead of time that MK closes at 7 (like it currently does for parties!)...I don't see a problem. I would honestly even probably base a trip just around that party.

I'm all for it. Maybe not at MK but Epcot I can completely see them doing it.

I do not think idea is lame if they do it after hours but I do not really see why to do that, unless adults plan to run topless or bottomless. Really what is the point. I believe such events may draw lots of locals and it may end up more crowded then usual. But again if it hapens, do not see anything wrong.

I'm a mom of five and I think an adults-only evening is a great idea. Very few people on this planet enjoy being around children as much as I do. I've worked in day-care centers, taught preschool and elementary school and I ooh and ahh over every baby I see.

But I would have no problem saying to my children, "It's 6:00pm and time for us to go. Tonight is Grown-Ups Night.". I doubt they would be offended. I've tried to teach them that I cherish them but that they aren't the center of everyone else's universe.

They also can deal with a 15 minute-out of every hour Adult Swim at public pools and No, they can't have an "adult" beverage until they are 21.

Heck, if Disney had a very infrequent "Seniors Evening" for AARP folks, I wouldn't be offended. It would just give me something to look forward to in my golden years!

I didn't suggest that the adults were going to be drunk. Although, they can do that if there are children around or not....which would be kinda sad.

Sorry, but I think some people are reading wayyyyy to much in to this. I seriously doubt that WDW would ever have an adults-only evening, it's just something for conversation.

Well, I have to admit, that if they had an adults-evening, from midnight to 4am, I would not go. I'm usually pooped-out by midnight (sorry, I couldn't find a "sleepy" smiley to use).

Well, many restaurants in outside world are open pretty late, clubs as well, so I guess this time will work perfectly for locals, not for me for sure, I rarely drag myself to evening extra hours as well.

Oh, I do understand your frustration. Of course, the children don't learn how to behave when responsibility for their well-being is pushed off on to strangers because these same parents who expect you to protect their Junior from his own stupidity will be outraged if you insist that he cease said stupidity.

The problem I have with segregating children from adults as much as possible is that it makes it difficult, if not impossible, for the children to be socialized as adults. Then we wonder why someone legally grown still doesn't act like it at all. In families where the adults and children spend a lot of time together, such as in farm communities, an older sibling will often put the squash on Junior's bad behavior because the older sibling is embarrassed by little brother's conduct.

My reluctance to embrace adults-only in a family destination like Disney is that children really do have it pretty tough in our society. At 47 I can get away with rudeness I had better not have tried at 7 or even 17. Yet the younger we are the more we are treated like we don't even have any feelings that could be hurt. If you are a child who can sit quietly and fold his napkin in a manner that would make Miss Manners proud, people can still shamelessly say that someone your age should not be welcome in a restaurant. If you are an old person who smells like poop because you have no control over your bodily functions, anybody who would like another seat away from you in a restaurant, theater, or whatever is seen as an insensitive clod. AARP would be all up in your face for suggesting that that old person should be excluded.
