Would WDW Ever Do This?????

I don't think that Disney would ever do that! Disney is known for the children side of things. Plus it would ruin sales since what parent would take their kid to disney so they could have fun. That is what pleasure island is for.

Pleasure Island closed. I don't see anything stopping parents from taking kids. Heck, they raise the prices every 15 minutes and people still go. One evening isn't going to change that.

Yes, I would attend and gladly pay for the privilege an evening in the parks with only adults for one night!

Nope, WDW would never do that. BUT if they did, i would be FIRST IN LINE. I would love an Adults only nite/day. Heck, even if Disney would make a STROLLER lane I would be dern happier! LOL

Im still wanting an Adults only resort where we can have a hot tub without little kids in it! :)

Waiting patiently!

However the idea is not absurd.

I agree with everything you said, except the line above.
The idea of Disney without kids is absolutly absurd. It is absurd on so many levels it's even hard to explain.

Unless, as someone mentioned, it is a private event after hours.

No kids = no magic.

Using the examples of some people posting means maybe they support the banning of Mother's Day and Father's Day and Veteran's Day? Those are days aimed to celebrate and honor certain groups of people(none of these days are for children).

This thread reminds me of when I was little and I would always question my parents about why there is Mother's Day and Father's Day but no Kid's Day.
You know what my response from them was?: "Every day is Kid's day!"
Adults need there own time and space too is the point. Why not one night at Disney?

I believe Disney offers this in the form of Kids Nite Out...now all one has to do is to get all the parents on board at the same time.

Disney without kids in the park would be very unmagical to me. Besides, it's usually the parents having meltdowns over the kids that bothers me, not the kids having the expected meltdown from heat, exhaustion and overstimulation.

I think you misunderstood my point. Disney is made for kids AND adults alike. I meant the idea of a one night party for adults only was not absurd. I dont think it is a good idea or something Disney would ever do but the point I was trying to make was that the topic brought up by to OP does no warrant some of the responses here.

In no way whatsoever did I mean kids should not be at Disney. That is completely rediculous. Sorry if I didnt articulate what I meant properly.

I think it would be nice on Valentine day.

Some of the answers in this thread are unbelievable, I'm wondering if people actually take the time to read and think about things before jumping to ridiculous conclusions. Or did I miss the part where Disney was planning on murdering 6 million children in an attempt to wipe them off the planet?

The OP suggest ONE NIGHT just ONE. I don't see how one night a month/year/whatever, could possibly effect anyone that much. It's not as if Disney would be kicking children off rides (although this is basically the same concept that is done for the parties, which happen about 3 times a week), I don't see why your child would have to know the park wasn't actually closing anyways, I'm fairly sure they aren't checking the DIS for park hours.

I don't see people up in arms that the government is discriminating against children not allowing them to drive, drink, go in bars, casinos, etc.

Now, I doubt that Disney would ever do this, simply because of people like the ones in this thread who would claim discrimination faster then they could even say Adults Only.

This thread, and indeed this topic seems downright silly to me. While their aer corporate events that may, in reality may end up with adults only, I think the idea of an intentional no kids day would be a PR disaster for Disney. Don't y'all think the big news media outlets would have a field day with this? Don't ya think folks would get all fired up about it? Just read this thread.

And personally, aside from the above, I think it's a lame idea.

It undermines the whole idea of what WDW is supposed to be - family entertainment. It would undermine their whole message. If you don't understand that, then I don't think you understand what WDW is. It's just that simple.

There are plenty of other vacation destinations that ARE better suited for adults only. If that's what you want, then it's time for you to try a different vacation destination.

Not talking about an all-day-long, every day, adults only day...one, single, evening, in ONE park. That's it.

And the reality is that, they would probably not even consider doing it....it's only a topic of conversation....that's it, nothing more, nothing less.

I do not think idea is lame if they do it after hours but I do not really see why to do that, unless adults plan to run topless or bottomless. Really what is the point. I believe such events may draw lots of locals and it may end up more crowded then usual. But again if it hapens, do not see anything wrong.

I would attend!!!! :thumbsup2

Threads like this area always so amusing. People so hung up on what they *think* Walt's dream is. "Disney is for kids" blah blah blah.

How is a one night hard ticket event for adult's only so harmful to you and your children? It's just like the adult's only resorts threads that have been on here in the past.

how is this idea really all that much different than O say Grad Night?!? Those nights only teenagers about to graduate are allowed in so whats the Difference???

(and you'll notice by my siggie, I have THREE kiddos)

I'm a mom of five and I think an adults-only evening is a great idea. Very few people on this planet enjoy being around children as much as I do. I've worked in day-care centers, taught preschool and elementary school and I ooh and ahh over every baby I see.

But I would have no problem saying to my children, "It's 6:00pm and time for us to go. Tonight is Grown-Ups Night.". I doubt they would be offended. I've tried to teach them that I cherish them but that they aren't the center of everyone else's universe.

They also can deal with a 15 minute-out of every hour Adult Swim at public pools and No, they can't have an "adult" beverage until they are 21.

Heck, if Disney had a very infrequent "Seniors Evening" for AARP folks, I wouldn't be offended. It would just give me something to look forward to in my golden years! :goodvibes

Since I don't have kids I think it would be great. Please don't flame not trying to say anything bad about anybody's little angel but I would love it.

I think I know what Walt's dream was. His dream is similar to most of ours. It goes something like this.

He wakes in his animation studios department. An animator asks him to check the storyboard that he had been working on. Walt isn't really paying attention to his animator because he is wondering why he is completely naked. The animator does not seem to notice. Just then, a unicorn comes crashing through the wall and Walt jumps on it, declaring, "Freedom!" He then waves the sword in his hand that he had been carrying all along. As the unicorn takes flight through the hallways of his animation studio, passing other employees, Walt is perplexed why they don't seem alarmed by the fact that he is flying naked on a unicorn. All is well, as the unicorn gently glides in for a landing on top of the pile of half melted m & m's. This is especially troubling to Walt, as he was under the impression that they only melt in your mouth. That doesn't matter much. What matters is that all this nudity has made him very hungry, and he starts gobbling down the chocolaty goodies. Just them, his wife walks in and demands the secret code to gain access to the marshmallow village. it's on the tip of his head, but he can't remember. Why can't he remember? It's maddening. Just then he hears a distant beeping. It is his alarm clock waking him up from his dream.

So you see, his dreams were just a ordinary as ours. I have variations of this dream several times a week, as I'm sure all of us have. Right?
