Worst WDW Desserts!

:rotfl2: Don't have anything to review yet but I have warned my DH about the size of Cheesecake served at the World. In our neck of the woods it seems that the restaurants are in competition over who can get the largest size on a plate. If he ordered cheesecake and got what I have seen pictures of he would probably figure it was a sample and then tell the waiter, OK that was good now bring on the "real thing".

Now mind you we have been kicked out of all you can eat places. The staff will come up and say,"excuse me sir but that is all you can eat". :rotfl2:

I heard so much about how fab Dole Whips were. I tried one and it was okay.
Then I tried the DOLE WHIP FLOAT and ......wow!! Loved it. It is the pineapple "whip" with pineapple juice!!!

Try it on your next trip!

Awe........is it that bad? We're going to WDW in Sept, and staying at POR. I wanted to take the drive over to POP just to try the tie-dye cheesecake! It looks SOOO COOL!

I had looked so forward to trying the cheesecake also. It just looks so cool. Problem is that it is not that good.

To tell you the truth I enjoyed the first few bites because I really wanted to like it. But the more I ate, the more I began to dislike it.

If you are in the area then I would still try it (it is not expensive). It is neat to look at and perhaps you may even like it.

One other thing, I agree about the Zebra Domes. All hype.

I remember years ago there was so much hype on these boards(kind of like the hype that now surrounds zebra domes) about grapefruit cake that I had to try it. It was ok but nothing spectacular and nothing I'd get again. And I am a person who loves a good dessert! Have to say I do like the dole whips and citrus swirl!

Whats wrong with the Pop chesecake :confused3 . Just joking ! well never thought there were worst wdw deserts.

The creme brulee at France.....got it last year during F & W and after 2 small bites I threw it in the trash. It was extremely!!! cold and had a funny taste....was so disappointed....I headed right back in and ordered chocolate mousse (A girl needs her dessert!!!)

I also was not a fan of the Beaver Tail at all, neither my DH or I could finish the one we shared.

I loved the schoolbread though in Norway!

:cool1:

and btw.....

A DOLE WHIP is not a WDW dessert. It's an all day tasty treat!

Just have 1 whip for breakfast, 1 for lunch and a reasonable dinner. That's my diet. :hourglass 15 days!

Years ago Dole Whip used to be MUCH better but like with all things that Disney perceives as a value it has been degraded. It was a large parfait glass with a hunk of fresh pineapple in it. It was not the junk it is now but more like a sorbet made from pineapple.

It was our favorite quick pick me up at MK. I usually get one in the hopes that it will be back to its previous glory. It never is.

I agreee with the Beaver Tail it was a disappointment.

I also agree with the school bread but my husband told me I better enjoy it while I had it b/c it would probably be non-existant next trip or it would become the new, mini school bread.

The WORST dessert we had was at O'Hana when DH and I decided to splurge and split the coconut ice cream ball with hot fudge (we were poor college students) and somehow, they served us THE FAKE ONE from the counter. DH and I bit in, and suddenly our mouths were coated with LARD and COCONUT mixed together and we started gagging and laughing when we realized what must have happened. We flagged down our waitress and then most of the wait staff came over because they couldn't believe it! The manager also came and gave us our dinner totally free, which was appropriate seeing that I had just eaten LARD and wanted to lose my whole dinner!!! We still laugh about it though, and I'm sure the story floats around... :rotfl2:

That is hysterical! I also wondered what those fakes were made of - and lard as it is white, rolled in coconut seems authentic. I'm sure it tasted bogus with a capital B. I would have been laughing and gagging also - then I would have wondered how the heck the fake dessert managed it's way onto our plate. My DH would not have been laughing since he hates anything with coconut on/in it, and if I would have convinced him to try it, and then this incident would have happened - he would have freaked out. I would have never lived that one down with him, LOL! Actually, the look on his face if he ate a forkful of lard/coconut would have been a scream. Too bad O'hanas will not be making that mistake again. That was nice that your meal ended up being free - that was the least that they could have done since you didn't make a big deal over it.

To the OP: I have no idea what Faygo even is, but if I could add it to Cool Whip and it tasted as awesome as a Dole Whip does, I'd say, BRING IT ON! , LOL. Hey, to each her (or his) own. :goodvibes

I've not had a Dole Whip, but I liked the Key Lime Pie at RFC! It was still good even a few hours later!

Now, I think I had some type of Creme Brulee at Spoodles and I did not like it! :crazy2:

if you want big cheesecake go to the cheesecake factory in the new mall of millenia...yum.

Did not like Beaver Tails either-soggy and gross. DH and our friend did not like theirs either.

Zebra Dome-wanted to love but the bananna bread pudding with warm vanilla sauce beats them hands down:) DH and friends like them a lot though.

The desserts at Fountainview are not that good-I agree. The chocolate crossiants are pretty tasty.

The desserts at France are hit or miss.

I like the grapefruit cake and white macademia cheescake at the Brown Derby.

The chocolate souffle at Cali Grill and Flying Fish are great.

My husband loved to get a treat at France (pastry shop). Last time we went there (several years ago) he got an eclair. It was just plain gross. Heavy, not much flavor (how do they manage to do that?) He thought it was good :confused3 .

I told him that we would go to the store and get (IMO) great eclairs. We picked up a package of Rich's and he agreed and has not requested France since.

The chocolate "crepes" I from the outside stand in France. I walked over there (with a toddler VERY close to a melt down) specifically for the crepes and it tasted like cardboard with hershey's syrup on it. YUCK!

Citrus swirl is soft swirl vanilla ice cream and soft frozen orange juice swirled together and served in a cup. You can buy them at the Sunshine Tree Terrace next to the Tiki Birds in MK.
Don't eat it too fast or you could get a brain freeze.
Thanks, i usually love anything orange so im going to have to give one of those a try! :cool1:
