Worst WDW Desserts!

I have always felt that Disney World lacked enough special places to find great desserts. The top of the line restaurants provide good options, but most other places in the parks and resorts have few memorable delicacies. Here are some of the worst in my opinion:

Dole Whip – No clue why people like this. I don’t believe it contains any dairy so it is like drinking liquid Cool Whip with Faygo poured on it.

Beach Bomb – This is supposed to authentic shave ice at ‘Ohana. It is not. It is thick pellets of ice that has very little flavoring on it.

Liberty Inn Jell-O – If you like hospital or airline quality Jell-O, you will be in heaven eating this flavored rubber.

Sci-Fi ice cream – Grocery store brand ice cream with fancy names.

RainForest key lime pie – Two words: Beat up!

PINOCCHIO'S VILLAGE HAUS brownie – Can’t tell you how it tasted as no one has survived it.

All-Star Food Court Banana Bread – Very dry…think desert instead of dessert.

Toontown Farmers Market fruit cup – Don’t expect fresh picked fruit. (Don’t expect fruit).

I agree with OP regarding Dole Whips. Several years ago, the Sunshine Tree Terrace was closed (Citrus Swirls) and we tried the Dole Whips. Never again!

I don't usually have room for dessert at WDW, however, we have the free dining for our trip in October, so I'll be trying many desserts.

Any of the pastries in the France bakery are good!

I agree about the Dole Whips, too. Nothing big, matter of fact, they have them at the State Fair here every year anyways, so it's nothing special to us.

I will say I didn't see the appeal in Schoolbread in Norway, either, and still regret not choosing a better dessert/pastry there instead! Just a big hunk of bread with a tiny bit of pudding in the middle. Not even sweet bread at that!

Oh well, glad I tried both at least once.

Worst Dessert:

Tie-Dye Cheesecake from Pop Century

After this yiur stomach will feel the way this dessert looks :crazy2:

I wasnt thrilled with a slushy I got in Tommorwland. Other than that I didnt find anything I didnt like.

I agree! This one looks good but where's the cheesecake taste? Never again. Threw most of it away.

52 days and counting!

I love Dole Whips!

It's a very simple snack, nothing elaborate, but it tastes so, so yummy on a hot day in the park. It's fine with me that there are people who don't like them - maybe the line will be shorter next time I go to get one! ;)

The WORST dessert we had was at O'Hana when DH and I decided to splurge and split the coconut ice cream ball with hot fudge (we were poor college students) and somehow, they served us THE FAKE ONE from the counter. DH and I bit in, and suddenly our mouths were coated with LARD and COCONUT mixed together and we started gagging and laughing when we realized what must have happened. We flagged down our waitress and then most of the wait staff came over because they couldn't believe it! The manager also came and gave us our dinner totally free, which was appropriate seeing that I had just eaten LARD and wanted to lose my whole dinner!!! We still laugh about it though, and I'm sure the story floats around... :rotfl2:

I must confess. Like the OP, I don't like like Dole Whips.
I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders admitting it. wheew!
and believe me, I live for dessert!

i don't care for dole whips either but i do want to try the citrus swirl. what i miss most is the beaver tail, those were soooo very yummy.

Utah, That is hilarious!! I've always wondered what those dessert tray desserts were made of!

That story is a keeper! Too funny. And YUCK :rotfl:

Don't like the canoli's from Alfredo's. They are soggy and have little marscapone cheese in them.

Also, do not like anything from Fountainview Bakery at EPCOT. Yuck!

While I greatly enjoyed the quality of the food at Kona's I was most disappointed in the Koko Puffs. Might be because I make cream puffs from scratch and am used to a fresher and crisper product.

Slightly Goofy

The cinnamon rolls from the Main Street Bakery. I love really sweet desserts but these were just way too sweet. :crazy2:

I like cinnamon rolls but those hurt my teeth. Dole whips are okay but I wouldn't go out of my way to get one. I tried a Mango Dole Whip here in Canada and I liked that better then the WDW ones.

Having been to Hawaii, I have to laugh about the Dole Whips as they are everywhere you look there. My dad had one, but wasn't impressed. Unless it's chocolate, I don't consider it dessert and therefore didn't try one. Do they have the Pineapple Delight at Disney, too?! If you've ever been to the Polyneisan Cultural Center on Oahu, you'll know what I'm talking about!!!! :rotfl2:

Most disappointing:

Key Lime Creme Brulee at Narcoosees....I suppose it was really good if you like Key Lime. Somehow I'd forgotten that I really don't.

Zebra Domes.....just didn't live up to the hype. Without the hype they wouldn't have been bad. With the hype they were so disappointing. Ours were sort of stale.

I used to like Dole Whips, but my sweet tooth has diminished. Its the same taste, its just sweeter than what I want to be eating nowadays.
