Is there one, and if so, how would one go about breaking it (other than the obvious riding it a set amount of times)?

That attractions is filled with Hidden Mickeys. One of the more fun ones to find them in.

Not sure I understand the question. I'd imagine that something private like grad night might be the best way to ride something over and over. Of course you'd have to be in high school to do that.

Well, when I was there last may, they let me stay in the same doom buggy and ride it through 3 times even through the area between the exit and queue for new riders. At that point, i got off, even though the CM asked if I wanted to ride it again. I Guess the question has to deal with longest consecutive ride time or trips through the mansion. I thought it might be fun to set or break a record, and possibly work it into a charity event. I love the ride, and if there weren't so many other good things to do at WDW, I would stay on until they kicked me out.

As it was told to me...

One guest decided to set his own record of riding the HM.

Armed with an AP and a long-term camper pad at Ft. Wilderness (and an extended furlough from his job,) he began his
quest on a rainy Thursday afternoon.

He got up to 20 rides that day.

He returned the next day, and the next...
he got in a lot of rides during a PM EMH (during that same patch of dreary, rainy weather.)

He made it up to 989 trips through the mansion as one night came to a close.

He decided that he'd go all the way to 1000 trips, if he would just return for one more day at MK.

That next day proved to be a really bad weather day.
Lots of clouds, rain and lightning, and the kind of wind that can just rip right through you.

AND, it was a rare day when the (normally reliable) electrical power at WDW was experiencing intermittent black-outs.

So, our intrepid HM venturer was only slowly approaching his goal, as, on his remaining trips through the mansion, the HM Doombuggies would periodically STOP as the system power was interrupted by the nearby lighting strikes, or so it seemed, anyway.

Trip 996-

Trip 997-

Trip 998-

Trip 999-

Each one was beset by slow-downs and intermittent stoppages...

But... Finally....

At last, he was ready for his 1000th pass on the attraction.

He dutifully entered the Stretching Room and waited for the Ghost Host to begin his now familiar rantings of "No Windows and No Doors..."

And, just as the "there's always my way..." was intoned and the lighting and thunder rolled inside the room...
OUTSIDE, a lightning bolt took out the MK power for a brief second, as well.

And...

When the power was restored to the mansion room...

Our brave rider...

Great story Robo!

Sorry computer acted up on me... What I wanted to say was I have the AP, Im a grad student so I've got at least a couple of weeks to blow, and I think someone should lead an expedition to find out what happened to this brave soul. Did he become the 1000th ghost? The fair citizens of Liberty square have a right to know!

Yes, we need to find out what happened to this brave rider!

Love the story Robo!!

Actually, Robo's story is true. I know 'cause my brother-in-law's cousin's wife's half sister's BFF's next to next door neighbor's dog walker's sister was there when it happened. She says it was the scariest thing that ever happened to her.

Then she went and rode a doombuggy. She says she liked it.

I've heard that the "between area" is in a completely different dimension than the rest of the mansion.

Robo sucked me in!

...but wait. I thought the Mansion was powered by the souls of the 1000 ghosts!:scared1:
