Wondering about the dress code?

DH and I will be spending a couple of days at Disney the end of this month. We currently have dinner reservations at both California Grill and Flying Fish. As we are not staying on property (DH is attending a convention at another hotel), we will be going straight to dinner from the parks without an opportunity to change. I know the dress code for these two restaurants specifies no tank tops or cut offs, but I'm beginning to wonder if we'll even be comfortable in nice khaki shorts and tops. We'll be wearing tennis shoes, too. Should I rethink our choices?

If you have no opportunity to change, you have no opportunity to change. Dress up as much as you'll feel comfortable in the park (Khaki shorts and a nice shirt) and you'll be fine.

There will be diners there who are very dressed up and then there will be diners there who will not be dressed up at all. The warmer the temps get, the more casual the dress gets.

What you have planned to wear fits within WDW guidelines. As long as you are okay with it, I wouldn't worry too much about what anyone else thinks. If they are studying what you are wearing then they aren't enjoying their meals as much as they should.

What a great response. I couldn't agree more.

What you will be wearing does meet the dress code and will be just fine!!
And in all my years of WDW dining, I can't recall anyone ever really looking at my feet---.
