After spending the night in Cozumel, my DH was exhausted:

One of my favorite pics of all time, yes they make it snow on the ship. This is the tree lighting ceremony. They do it on the first night of each cruise from Thanksgiving till Christmas

Having a bit of bad luck, like everyone else is these days.

Days before my DS20 went back to college he totalled my completely loved PAID IN FULL suburban. No one injured thank the Lord.

Have no car until we get the insurance check.....over a month - during summer - DD and I spend lots of time walking to the pool ;)

We buy our new car and the second day, Labor Day, I get this great idea to drive it to San Jose (from Orange County) to visit my son in college and see his new apartment. Hubby has a court appearance there on Tuesday - so cancel his flight and take DD12 up with us to visit son.

Labor Day, Monday, after driving up there I'm cooking dinner for my son and his roommates who want a home made dinner. Send DH out to the store.
Hmmm, he's gone too long and somethings wrong. DH turned in front of a metro train - onto the tracks - dragging him 50 yds or more. He climbs out of the passenger side. Thank the Lord he only had broken ribs and a concussion. He was only worried that he totalled my brand new car on Day2.

We were truly blessed...until we learned we only had liability! But good, because apparently we have to pay for the damage to the train!!!!

Come home, 3 days later my son at college gets his new bike stolen :scared1::scared1: jeez.

So now I'm waiting for another car ;) more importantly, I have my husband. My wonderful brother who is also an attorney drove up the next morning to help my hubby at his court appearance because he was still in shock! He couldn't function. Then my brother drove us home and loaned me a spare car until I get another one :hug:

I need some pictures.....:grouphug: THANK GOODNESS this cruise is paid for and I don't have to drive anywhere ;)

P.S. I'm thinking about getting the same car...it saved my hubby's life :littleangel:
Holy Cow! How frightening! I'm so glad everybody is ok. I hope things are turning around for you and your family.

Thank you all my friends and thank you lvstitch for the pics. I loved the pictures of The Dream! That is very exciting!

I received our fish extender today!!!! Purchased it from gradysmommy on Ebay. I love it and believe me, it is much better "in person" then on the photos on ebay. The detail is beautiful! There are no patches! My daughter was so excited and it's hanging in my family room for us to look at everyday :banana: I can't believe I only paid $20 for it.:lovestruc

We are so excited to participate in this! Even though DD is in 6th grade, I can tell she is very excited about the idea of not just receiving but giving. It will be something very fun for us on our mother/daughter quick getaway week end :cloud9:

Getting so excited now! :woohoo:
My daughter (7th grade now) had a blast delivering FE gifts on our Panama Canal cruise in 2008. We spread it out over the 15 days (because we had over a hundred cabins participating).
Post a picture of your FE...I love seeing them!

I love the Christmas pictures. Reminds me of our cruise on the Wonder Dec 2005. I'll have to dig mine up now :)

Happy Wednesday everybody!

I do. I have two kids with my ex - remarried and have a wonderful daughter. I wanted to wait until my two kids were 18 before I changed my last name, i.e., get through high school. We cruised many times during this time we we all had different last names.

I brought my birth certificate, marriage license, divorce papers, new marriage license, photo id, and even my gym pass that said my name-hypen-married name, my costco card and Auto Club card that said my maiden name and married name. Oh, and also a notarized note from my ex just in case :rolleyes1 :laundy:

If we were disembarking, I'd worry about it. It's harder to register for little league in my area than it is to board a ship that goes to nowhere :rotfl2::rotfl2::yay:

Passports make everything so easy :)

Thanks! I feel better knowing it won't be a problem! I'll take everything!! We will get passports before our next trip - it does sound like it just makes life easier :)

We got passports for our first cruise, I thought that it would probably be an unecessary expense as I didn't know when we'd cruise again. Now the cruise bug has hit hard and I've used the passports twice so far for cruises and once for a trip to London. Now before they expire for the kids, I'll have two more cruises under my belt. Those were well worth the money. (I'd have never taken that trip to London if I didn't have them in hand.)

How many days out is the Paid in Full date? 90 days? 75 days? I'm only curious because we're still GTY and still waiting for a cabin.

The PIF date in Nov. 7 so about 75 days out .. I have several clients who are GTY status...DCL has stated that it usually assigns cabins 30 days out. You could technically be GTY until you arrive at the ship but you will most likely know your cabin before then.

The Paid in full date is 75 days out. Remember, that you cannot book anything online until paid in full so if you're a returning cruiser and have a 90 day booking window, you'll want to be paid in full BEFORE your 90 day window.

2 of the 4 in our cabin are paid up, but we've decided not to ask the others to pay early (for us Golds), because we aren't really booking anything, so no need for that early booking window this time. :thumbsup2

While we are Silver CC, Deposit was $400 or Paid in Full was $439, so we just paid it off when we booked the cruise. First (and only other DCL) was with AMEX points so I'd never actually had to care about the PIF date.

I'll start checking for a cabin again after the 75 day mark.

I'll have to start tracking a Paid in Full date for our third DCL cruise; as we already plan on hitting up the future cruise desk for a 2012 7 Night Mexican Rivera cruise while we're on board in January.

Wasn't going to do it but decided to book brunch at Palo's. That's what happens when you start googling and pictures of the food pop up!:scared1:

Oh, I wish we were able to book now. I really want Palo Brunch. DH's parents are traveling with us and have never done DCL. Would love for them to be able to do brunch.

Hi everyone. My family and I finished paying off the cruise today :cool1: The excitement is starting to build with all of us because to clock is winding down. Is the 90 day mark October 23rd? I havent been to a Palo brunch, and it would be nice to do it with the BF.

On another note: I couldnt wait till January to get my Disney fix so I booked a last minute trip to WDW for next week!

Hi Litle Pixie Dust -- I'm new so can't PM or email yet -- would you please add me to the roll call, myself and my mom, first-timers on DCL, and mom's first cruise (My sixth) - no little ones. I'm trying my mom out on a cruise to see how she'll do, for maybe a longer one later. GTY status, and I think FE's are a gas, will definitely do one!

I so wish that I could be planning a WDW trip this year. I'd go during Christmas in a second.

Me too! I was going through old pics the other day of our 08 and 09 trips and it was sad. We're in the talking stages of doing a road trip and WDW/cruise for 2012. Sooo far off.

Ive never been there during Christmas. That would be really nice. The only reason Im going next week is because I found super cheap airfare that I couldnt pass up.

I also wanted to mention that if you pay off your cruise with your Disney Visa, make sure to tell the agent to add on your $50 OBC. If I wouldnt have told the agent that, she would never had put it on. They can add it on while youre on the cruise, but they have to call mainland to check on it.

Enjoy the Food and Wine Festival. We went for the first time last year and loved it.

Are you going to MNSSHP?

We're counting down to October 2011.
Food & Wine Festival & Party for Senses
Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Festival
and the reason for the trip....
Harry Potter at Island of Adventures.
